PEACE AND LIFE IN THE WORLD (GHANA – PART II)
THEME: THE CHOICE BETWEEN THE BEGGARLY ELEMENTS AND THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST
In Part 1, we established that there is an opportunity for total redemption from the life of anguish and the “brutish jungle drama” of helpless actors. We reminded readers and all that the escape route out of this circumscribed noncontrollable play-acting, is trust in God through faith in Jesus Christ. That Christ who is the express image of God the Creator is the Divine Spirit-Power released to reconcile the world with the Creator, set man free from captivity to sin, death, and Satan, and redeem him from his fallen nature and give him power to overcome and order the world afresh according to heaven Kingdom Order. The redeemed man will regain his powers and glory to order, reign, rule, and govern the world so there be peace and goodwill on earth.
The vision clear: peace, life, liberty, joy, hope, and glory for redeemed man in a redeemed world. We concluded that this Good News of Divine reconciliation, redemption, and restoration of peace, life, liberty, joy, hope, and glory is for all peoples and all nations. Our humble submission was that Ghana should be careful not to reject God and the Good News and hope in Christ Jesus and suffer the fate of other nations that have rejected the Good News, including Europe, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. Many people and nations are reeling in a rudderless way in the sea of human tragedy, social disintegration, and desolation. The scientific, medical, and technological advances in the IT age are not sufficient to guide and guarantee security.
The peace, stability, and promise of life in the advanced nations are now threatened not so much by so-called Islamic terrorism as by sin, social disquiet, the breakdown of morality, and social sanction and the rise of state and people terrorism. Life has become a brutish jungle affair for many people and in many places. For example, African countries have been caught in idolatry, Satan, and man worship, sorcery, and charms, witchcraft and blood sacrifices and the perpetuating as it is of darkness, death, poverty, and backwardness, political chaos, economic insufficiency, and social desolation. Africa is in a state of war at all levels. There is no peace.
Indeed, all nations, including USA, UK, and Europe that have rejected God, that is Christ and The Word of God are now facing crisis. Peace, stability, liberty, and hope in the promise of life in these nations are now threatened by sin, darkness and death, violence, war, the forces of evil and social disquiet. There is breakdown in morality, social righteousness and decorum. Life has become not just a stare but indeed brutish jungle affair.
Today, the greater challenge facing Ghana is the temptation of so-called “African renaissance,” or if you may Africanism. We see chiefs, elders and fetish priests, politicians, academics, and religious gurus, including some theologians, leaders and ministers of the Church of God and His Christ turn to angels, dwarfs, mermaids, gods, goddesses and deities, ancestors and spirits of the dead with diverse kinds of sacrifices, blood, animals, birds and man, food and drinks. People treat these “beggarly elements” as if they are the source and custodians of the spirit of life and hope of man and for that matter for the good life on earth and beyond the grave.
But this is not the truth. God the Creator is the main and only source, custodian and the ultimate determinant of life and affairs of the world. Thieves, robbers, and deceitful may and do create situations and circumstances for man to fall prey to their devices and thereby cause peoples, tribes and nations to worship them.
Praise the LORD, Ghana has passed this stage of ignorance and darkness in the rejection of God and the worship of creation. Ghana has entered the stage of Blessedness, Peace, Life, Joy, Hope, and Glory in the knowledge and hand of God. Let us not return therefore to the days of the gods and “Dwarf Kingdom Order” with the accompanying blood sacrifices, drinks and wars, and of golden mummies and ancestral spirits. The days of fellowship with and control of life by dwarfs and mermaids, spirits and powers from the sea, rivers and lagoons, mountains and stones, trees and forests, dragons, beasts and reptiles are over and must be seen to be over. The Ghana of today is risen far beyond the reaches and domain of these elements. There can be no turning back, try as we may.
The Good News is that God and Christ have chosen Ghana for the purpose of the reconciliation, redemption, and restoration of Africa. The throne of God and Christ, the King of Glory has been established in Ghana. There is no turning back. There is no abdication by God from His throne nor possibility of overthrow by any power. Ghana has been solidly established in the Kingdom of God and His Christ as a model for Africa and the world.
This is the basis of peace and life, righteousness, joy, hope, and glory for Ghana. Let us embrace this and honor Christ Jesus, the Savior, Redeemer, and Restorer. To reject Christ and turn back to the beggarly elements is damnation and perpetuation of the wrath and judgment of God and thus, the state of darkness and death, backwardness, poverty and desolation in Africa.
O people of Ghana, let us arise from the doldrums of idolatry! The days of the dark kingdom are over.
GOD BLESS GHANA! GOD BLESS AFRICA!!
