THEME: THE LIBERATION OF THE CAPTIVE MIND AND THE RESTORATION OF DIVINE ORDER 

The problem of Africa is the problem of the century. The major burden is: How to Get Africa on the March? The secret and open path to resolving the issue is spiritual—the deliverance and liberation of Africa from spiritual forces of darkness and the African mindset from the hold of the ‘captive mind.’  

Africa must be delivered from satanic hold and control. Africa’s captive mind must be liberated, set free, and healed. This can only be done by the power of the Word of God and the authority and power of Jesus Christ, Saviour, Redeemer, and Victorious King. 

1st Corinthians 15: 57 declares:  

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 

The problems under purview in that declaration are 

• The corruptibility of man that exposes him not only to sin but also and very critical at that, the deception, manipulation, and control of Satan. 

• The mortality of man that emanates from his lack of power, his corruptibility, and sin established, strengthened, and enforced by the word and law of God. 

It is the power and reality of corruptibility and mortality of man that makes sin reign and have dominion on man’s life. 

Sin – the transgression of the law of God 

      – Life in or contravention and disobedience of the will and knowledge of God. 

The Spirit of God has declared that except there have been thou shalt not, there would be no knowledge of sin. Except the lord reveals His Will and Way, there would have been no basis of accusation and judgement of sin, and disobedience.  Error is a minor issue compared to this.  Error has its way of revelation and correction. Imperfection and failure, fruitlessness, and futility are a mechanism of self-revelation and correction of error. 

However, sin which brings death is a deeper proposition. Sin or the transgression of the will, law, and way of God or the knowledge of God does not normally show forth in failure.  Indeed, it can promote and indeed establish success and a way of life that delivers and is right in the sight of men. But as the Spirit of God reveals, such success or right acceptable, convenient, pleasing, and pleasant way can and does lead only to death, that is separation from God, and separation from God is the sure way of extinction of man, break from God who is the Life-Source. 

“There is a way that seemeth right to man, but the end is destruction.” 

The knowledge of the will, law, and way of God or in short, the knowledge of God is the critical issue indeed the missing foundation and tragedy in the lives of many peoples, families, tribes, communities, societies, and nations. It is this lack of knowledge of God—and with it, the true meaning and significance of life—that confronts peoples and nations. There is no death for those in the Lord.   

First death separation of the soul, spirit, and body mean from the end death separation of the spirit of man from God.  First death need not and does not always mean or lead to separation from God.  We can live in or out of the body and be in the presence of God at all times. In the absence of the knowledge of God, which makes life a threatening and non-sustainable proposition where death looms everywhere—men (people) either interpret life in the provision, security, and pleasure in food, shelter, and clothing, in physical strength, mental power, emotional and sensual pleasure, in material and financial sustenance or knowing that life has in spiritual dimension and that life in more than physical, mental, and emotional stability and security of food, shelter, and clothing, they look  for life security through the enhancement and security of spiritual power and strength because of the lack of knowledge of the True God, Father of all spirits, life source. They end up in idolatry and satanism, the worship and observance of the will, law, and way of man and/or Satan.   

In this lack of the knowledge of God and/or the deliberate worship and honor of gods and deities, men and Satan, spirits, demons, and powers that has been the bane of Africa. Africa did not lack the opportunity regarding the knowledge and way of God.  It would appear it is Africa that set the path for the worship and honor of Satan and demons, etc. As the continent of beginnings, Africa had light and opportunity. To know, worship, and serve the True God right from the beginning, they chose Satan-man worship instead of the Creator is the prime factor behind Africa’s predicament to reject God. Africa chose the serpent-Satan-Eve-Adam collaboration in rebellion, disobedience, and rejection of God for life on earth. 

The consequences are clear—darkness and death, backwardness, poverty, and non-progress, hopelessness, and futility in every work.  That is to say the wrath and judgement of God have abided heaviest on Africa while she knows God from the beginning but chose the way of Satan – rebellion and rejection of God’s dominion. This is why the reconciliation, salvation, deliverance, and redemption in Christ Jesus is the only and viable solution to Africa’s predicament. Repentance and reconciliation and redemption through Faith in Christ is the open door and key to salvation, healing, redemption, and restoration of Africa. 

The basic problem of Africa: 

“The burden against Egypt. Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, and will come into Egypt; 

 the idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.  I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; everyone will fight against his brother, and everyone against his neighbour, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.  The Spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, and they will consult the idols and the charmers, the mediums and the sorcerers.  And the Egyptians I will give into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them.  Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.” (Isaiah 19: 1-4 NKJV) 

The way of salvation: 

“Rebuke the beasts of the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples, till everyone submits himself with pieces of silver.  Scatter the peoples who delight in war. Envoys will come out of Egypt; Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God.  Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth; Oh sing praises to the Lord, to Him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which were of old! Indeed, He sends out His voice, a mighty voice. Ascribe strength to God; His excellence is over Israel, and His strength is in the clouds.” (Psalm 68: 30-34) 

The way of solution: 

“In that day there will be an alter to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.  And it will be for a sing and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Saviour and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.  And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.”  (Isaiah 19: 19-22 NKJV) 

It must be seen that the Spirit of the Lord shows the clue of escape from the curse of spiritual bondage (or darkness).
