THE SPIRITUAL STATE OF THE NATION
THEME: RIGHTEOUSNESS VS. NATIONAL MOURNING: A CALL TO DIVINE ALIGNMENT
“Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are My Lord; My goodness is nothing apart from You.” (Psalm 16: 1-2)
Peace be unto you!
The Spirit of the Lord has come upon me to address the Church, Government, people, and nation about the nation entering into a state of spiritual darkness, political confusion, and impotence in governance—particularly in dealing with the forces of darkness dragging the nation and its people into spiritual and political abyss.
This state of affairs has caused the soul of the nation to mourn. The people of Ghana are mourning—particularly the church and the people of God who have travailed and are still travailing to bring the nation unto the mercy side of God. They seek to keep her on course in the Divine Path of Life and of Truth, Light, Liberty, Peace, Righteousness, Justice, Joy, Stability, Security, and Hope in the Hand of God.
Yes, Ghana is lonely and mourning. There is a state of confusion, mourning, and lamentation due as much to economic pressures as the rising trend of evil, wickedness, and the breakdown in morality and social cohesion. Only the grace of the merciful hand of God and hope in Him is keeping the nation from falling. The Christian scripture places such a state of mourning at the door of unrighteous and wicked leadership. (Proverbs 29: 1-8). The Bible gives further illumination regarding such a sad state of affairs. According to scripture, people suffer, mourn, and grope in darkness when they put their trust in gods and deities, make drink and blood offerings, and take delight in and indeed pride themselves in swearing, placing their trust and lives, and basking in the names of gods, goddesses, deities and all.
“Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.” (Psalm 16: 4).
Because of the rising trend of Satanism, open and non-restrained recourse to the gods, Satan power, “sakawa,” bloodshed, and wicked and dark works of people, many have lost confidence and hope in the land. Our aim in a recent article in the Ghanaian Observer (Monday 15th February 2010), entitled “BE STILL, LONELY GHANA,” is not only to comfort nation and people but more so to give assurance and hope to the righteous and faithful and loyal citizenry and nation as a whole that our God, the God of Ghana reigns. That, He has not abandoned His election and redemption of Ghana for his blessing and glory nor has He forsaken the country.
The suggestion is that Ghana must continue to trust, obey, and keep on praying and prevailing—pursuing peace, righteousness, and justice, looking unto Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith, building upon confidence, trust and hope in God. God’s delight is still in His Righteous and Faithful people in Ghana who have not received bribe nor fallen prey to the deception and flattery of the enemy of God and of country.
We humbly beseech the church to keep focus on Christ Jesus, and the path of life which the spirit of the Lord has clearly mapped out and by which Church, Nation and People have been brought into the state of peace, stability, and security and the threshold of hope, progress, and prosperity now threatened.
We cannot, and we must not, turn back to the gods, sorcery, witchcraft and blood sacrifices of old. We must reject the atheistic and humanistic philosophies and ideologies that abound and flourish in a state of mourning and suffering. They make empty promises of peace, progress, and prosperity, but instead breed only forlorn hope altogether. Twentieth-century history has much to teach us about the deception, falsehood, flattery, and lies by the ungodly false ‘redeemers,’ false Christ’s, false prophets, and false teachers of the world system. The world system is dominated by false and human soul damning philosophies, theories, and ideologies. They promise redemption, restoration, and promotion of human glory but have consistently failed miserably. They are not even succeeding with the physical and material bases of life, much less with spiritual and soulish upliftment, and fulfillment, rest and joy. Jesus has this in mind when He says with authority, “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden. And I will give you rest………….and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11: 28-30).
We call upon the political leaders of the country not to provoke the wrath and fury of God with the secret consultation and invocation of the powers of darkness. In particular, the seat of Government in Jubilee House must not be defiled with secret sacrifices to gods and the pollution of the air with mediums and familiar spirits, sorcery, the wicked works of darkness, and Satanic ploys.
As citizens, we must not jeopardize the peace, progress, and destiny of the nation with open confession, swearing, exaltation, and unholy alliance with gods, elemental spirits, and powers, etc.
It is time for the church in Ghana to stop playing religion, falsehood, and flattery. It is time to seek Christ—the Truth, Life, Way, and Hope of God and to stop stooping at the empty cisterns of religion, false salvation and false security in money, silver and gold, and human theories based on peace, joy and hope in human, the physical and material, and technology. Let us teach and disciple people, governments, and nation that “Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah and the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance” (Psalm 33:12). That righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. And that, righteousness is attained and established only through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3). The righteousness, way, and peace of the world only perpetuate darkness and death, eternal damnation that is.
The church must take on the preaching, teaching, discipling church, people, nation and government on the Truth and Way, Love, Life, Righteousness, and Knowledge of God, not religion with its empty shells of worship and the graven images of human wisdom and power. Only the peace and righteousness of God can consolidate the redemption, blessedness and hope of Ghana.
We call upon all Christians and the godly in the land to pray, work and help turn the tide of evil, wickedness, darkness, and decay. May the peace of God dwell and abide with us all. Blessed be Ghana now and forever more! Amen and Amen!
