THEME: GOD REWARDED KUFUOR’S HUMBLE LEADERSHIP WITH GHANA’S OIL 

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.  For the kingdom is the LORD’S, And He rules over the nations”. (Psalm 22:27-28). 

Recently at the launching of the book THE GHANA REDEMPTION STORY, (25th February 2007) we spoke about the Election of Ghana by God as Star Nation and model state of Reconciliation with God for Liberation, Redemption and Restoration of Glory to Africa by the Most High God. 

We postulated in this regard four conditions that will make Ghana shine in the Divine Kingdom Glory as Star of Africa. These are: 

1. The building of an altar in Ghana for the worship of Jehovah God only similar to Israel 
2. The return to the worship of only Jehovah God by the Ga-Dangme people in place of gods, goddesses and ancestors.
3. The take-over of Ghana of the unique place of Egypt in God’s plan for Africa; and
4. The emergence of a David, a leader with a pure heart after God with whom and through whom God will direct the affairs of the country, bless and prosper nation and people in His reign and rule and Kingdom on earth, to wit Africa. 

On Ghana’s election and standing in place of Egypt in the Divine scheme of things for Africa, we were led to refer to two important developments in the affairs of Africa:  

• Nkrumah’s marriage with Fathia of Egypt which can be said to have broaden peace and union between Egypt and Ghana, between Arab North and Black or Negro, Southern Africa.  

• Kofi Annan of Ghana’s take-over of Africa’s turn for the UN Secretary-General office from Ambassador Boutros Boutros- Ghali of Egypt. 

Meanwhile, the Christian Faith had risen and taken dominant position in the Worship of Jehovah, Creator, God of Israel. We stated that the Christian Faith and church worship constitute the pillar and altar on the border of Africa. Christ being the Mighty Saviour for the reconciliation, deliverance, healing and restoration of Africa (Isaiah 19:19-22). 

On the David for the country, we observed that the Davidic type of leader is yet to emerge. Meanwhile, it is gratifying to note that President J.A Kufuor is a man with a Humble Spirit, whose Heart is open to the Living God and is receptive to divine direction without much avail. 

We elaborated the issue further with reference to the President Kufuor’s loyalty to the nation and possibilities open with positive divine influence on national affairs through prayer remote control. As the scriptures reveal especially in Ezekiel chap 12 and Psalm 2 rebellious leaders and rebellious people who are anti-God and anti-Christ and without regard, respect and honor to God suffer diverse kinds of pestilences, pain, suffering and death. 

We opined therefore that Ghana was fortunate to have President Kufuor as President at such a time of the Accomplishment of Divine Redemption of the country and Restoration of Ghana’s position as Star of Africa. With President Kufuor’s election out of turn as AU Chairman Ghana has gone a full cycle of Restoration of Glory and Leadership role in Africa. 

When we made the said observation during the launching of The Ghana Redemption Story, little did we know that God was going to do President J.A Kufuor and Ghana yet another favor, namely, the opening of the gates of the bowels of the earth by the LORD God Jehovah for the centuries old standing oil reserves in Ghana to come forth in the open.  

The announcement of the “OIL FIND” is the icing on the cake of divine favor on President Kufuor’s leadership and Presidency. Now he can leave office in perfect peace, fully assured of mission accomplished “Nipa bє yє bi na wa bє yє nyinaa”. “Obi nso bє tua so. Nhyira nka Jehovah”.  In stating that the “OIL FIND” is an icing of divine favor on President Kufuor’s Presidency, we did not say it is as icing on Divine Favor upon the country. The truth is that the oil reserves have been there, kept and held in store for Ghana all the years yet, exploration had not yielded much results until now.  

God had been waiting for a leader of a pure heart, God-Loving, loyal and faithful to God, country and people who will lead the nation in peace, righteousness and justice in the knowledge and fear of God, on one part and who also is committed to Ghana’s role in the Liberation and Redemption and God Kingdom Order in Africa. The Spirit of the Lord has made us declare and made this public to Church and nation on several occasions in the past 20 years or more. 

As recent as 20th February 2005, during a thanksgiving service connected with God Kingdom Glory in Ghana celebration 2005, we were led to declare as follows: 

Ghana has victoriously fought her way through The Post–Independence Political Wilderness of wars, economic challenges, and deaths.  She has waded through and crossed many a river of resistance and blockade, domestic and foreign and entered now the Glory land of peace and quiet, stable government and place of one nation, one people united under God. 

Now are we to experience the joy of true, pure and sweet Freedom and Liberty in Political Independence, no more subject to foreign influences and manipulation and the ancient internal subterfuge that made chequered and sad the political history of pre– colonial and post–colonial Africa.  

The war horns, war cries, war machines and fires of economic strangulation are still raging all over Africa.  But there is now peace, quiet and hope in Ghana.  Hallelujah. 

Ghana is ready once again, ready and confident to tackle Economic, Social and Cultural Issues to usher in progress and prosperity. We must face the future as a people with confidence and zeal. 

Let me demonstrate this briefly with the fuel issue now facing the country.  We need a little patience and confidence in ourselves as a people to face the challenge posed by the fuel crisis. Who knows if God will open the bowels of the earth and Ghana will strike oil.  And that I am confident is not out of the equation.  In any case, we must not allow fuel price (Wahala) to send us back to the political woods and economic frustration. We need to mobilize ourselves and embrace the crisis as A Nation and People. 

The theme of the message was GHANA, HOPE THOU IN GOD.  

Now the announcement of Oil Find has raised two spiritual issues…. Has President Kufuor been declared by the Living God the awaited David? The answer is no.  What has happened is that President Kufuor’s humility and fear of God have delighted the Lord.  God is pleased with him.  Hence, what we described as Divine Favor upon him. 

In this regard, the Lord spoke to His servant for over 30 minutes during this week June 10-16, on His delight in the person and presidency of President J.A Kufuor. Now, we know that this was to prepare His Servant for the lifting of the curtain re The Oil Find. 

The question remains that since President J.A Kufuor is not the David and, in any case, he will soon hand over power, how do we find a man of integrity, the knowledge and fear of God to hold the mantle till the “David” come on the scene. We know for a fact in this respect that the expected David is not billed for and will not emerge with year 2008 Elections. 

That raises huge spiritual and political issues and even deep religious factors in the spiritual, political and economic environment in the 2008 elections and beyond. 

Thanks be to God; the announcement has been made during President J.A. Kufuor’s watch. He has a great spiritual, political, and religious task to keep the nation in peace, stability and on course of good governance, law and order and goodwill with neighbors and external relations. The Defense Gate, in particular as well as the Foreign Interior and Finance Gates, must receive special and prior attention in the next three to focus years if the center can hold. The truth is that the wicked adventures, domestic and foreign are still active.  It is God who has held the country in peace and stability. He will not now fail Ghana. However, it is imperative that Government, President Kufuor, in particular the Cabinet and Parliament Church and people Raise Hands as one people in support of the President and Defense of the Country. 

Ghanaians should be thankful to God that at a time of great stress when unity co-operation and concerted efforts are need most and political fires and war songs have instead flooded the environment, threatening the peace, quiet and progress of the land the lord has shot the arms of the government with peace be still, and brought hope to the country with oil find.
