LET THE LIGHT SHINE OVER AFRICA (ISAIAH 9: 2-7; 1ST PETER 2:1-10)

Series:

THEME: LET THE LIGHT SHINE: OVERTURNING THE SATAN-MAN SOCIAL ORDER

PREAMBLE

Peace be unto you! Blessed be our God and King—The Triune God and King Jesus Christ. Beloved people of God, I thank God for the remembrance of you for your dedication to Jesus Christ, the Christian Faith, and the Enoch Missions/GES Commission to reconcile, deliver, redeem, and rebuild Ghana and Africa, and bring Freedom, Liberty, Peace, Righteousness, and Joy—and above all everlasting life, peace, hope, and glory—to Ghana and Africa.

The mission in Ghana has been accomplished. Revival has come to both the Church and the Country. Peace, Righteousness, and Joy in Jesus Christ, along with the worship of God is now an acceptable proposition. There is hope for THE NEW GHANA and the NEW PEOPLE which have emerged from our collective missionary efforts in serving God and man in revival in Church and country in the Reconciliation, and Revival of country in Spiritual Redemption, Reconstruction, Everlasting and God Kingdom Glory State and People of God—Star of Africa.

Today is Africa day. As has been our custom for over ten years now, we have assembled here to celebrate God and Africa’s hope in Him. Beloved, we stand on a high and lofty mountain, as we behold the developments, progress, and prospects in Africa. Great developments, progress initiated; the march forward has begun. This evening, the Lord would have us reconsider The Church in the midst of the developments and progress in Africa. The theme for today’s Africa Day Service, which is a watchnight service, typical of GES— is: LET THE LIGHT SHINE OVER AFRICA (Isaiah 9: 2-7; 1st Peter 2: 1-10).

INTRODUCTION

Beloved, Africa is in a state of;

a. Political Confusion

b. Economic and Social Distress

c. Cultural Disintegration and Damnation

The way out of this condition is Divine Intervention through the Reconciliation, Deliverance, Redemption, Spiritual Reconstruction, and Establishment of Africa in the Kingdom of God.  This is the Spiritual State of Ghana today, notwithstanding the political confusion, economic and social stress, and cultural destabilization and reverse order being set in motion, particularly, in the last few years. The Nkrumaist philosophical agenda, the militarist tactics, and violence in politics—coupled with the rising trend of idolatry and fetishism, tradition, and culture—are all attempts to set the clock back so, Ghana returns to the old ways of spiritual darkness, divine wrath, and judgement prevailing on the entire continent of Africa.  The “Shining Star” of Ghana will not but Stand Still and Turn Dark again as it happened in the First Republic.

Indeed, the greatest challenge Africa is facing is not so much education, democratic governance, economic development, poverty elevation, science, and technology—to advance social progress and eliminate backwardness. The greatest challenge Africa is facing from time immemorial is Spiritual and Cultural.

The Spiritual base, political and social construct of Africa, and the reigning cultural arrangements are the root causes and heavy stumbling block to Africa’s progress— education, science, and technology, the Christian faith and true worshippers of God are all facing serious challenges from the Spiritual Foundation and Cultural Pillars for conduct and social order. The bottom line in this drama is Satan and Man Social Construct and Order in Africa. What are the peculiar spirits and cultural trends in Africa which prevent Africa’s progress in freedom and liberty, progress, and prosperity?

Beloved, if there is a need for change, transformation, if there is need for prayer, for Divine Intervention, these are the two areas; The Satan-Man Spiritual and Cultural order in Africa. These are the two forces the Church in Africa must aim at and contend with. It is with this as background that The Spirit of the Lord, yea, Jehovah God our God, Lord, King, and Master Jesus Christ is calling us to examine and pray over this blessed Africa Day Watchnight’s Service under the theme: LET THE LIGHT SHINE OVER Africa.

In Isaiah 9 we have a scene and indeed declaration of war when the prophet declared, read Isaiah 9:2-6. “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Thou hast multiplied the nation and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

The Scripture declares that; the people in darkness have seen the light—light has shone over them (political emancipation, economic strides, population increase means food and health improved, education, hospitals, agriculture et al improved). These have not come except with warfare, see what is happening in Africa—great strides in politics, governance, economic, and social progress.

These are battles inevitable.  Ghana did not go through this so much. Thanks be to God.  The Mighty Hand of God in spiritual battles and now cultural liberation. The Lord says; “Let the Light of God (in the truth, law and way of God) shine over Africa.”  Unless the light brightens, shine, and overturn the state of darkness in the spirit and the shadow of death in culture, Africa will remain in darkness, slow progress, with repair of waste cities, and desolation of past generations. As we recently told the Youth of Ghana and Africa, we must break with the Satan-man spiritual and cultural order. This can only be done by and in the Light of God.

PRAYER

(Psalm 36 note verse 9, 11-12; 1 Peter 2:1-16)

It is not enough to simply be “praying.” Even unceasing prayer is insufficient if it remains without a Leading Light and clear direction for the people. We must move from the closet of prayer to the platform of national direction.  Verse 9 & 10. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

i. So let the light shine: Through the Christian evangelistic and prayer voice

ii. Let the conduct speak: through Christian life, conduct, and direction in conduct and social order, rooted in the knowledge and power of God.

iii. The Command of Christ: “Let your light so shine before men…” (Matthew 5:16).

CONCLUSION

Christian light and conduct are the most critical needs to set Africa free, to establish her in the Kingdom and Knowledge of God—to overcome ‘Satan-man’ order and dominance of Africa, to erase and eliminate the culture of darkness and the shadow of death and pave way for heavenly ordained, heavenly ordered, heavenly established state of freedom, and liberty, peace, righteousness, joy, and the Kingdom of God. Africa’s critical need now is not so much democracy and good governance consolidated by economic development and social progress, galvanized by science and technology, good, very good as they are but the Light of God to clean darkness and the shadow of death, particularly, the spiritual and cultural order set in place and controlled by Satan and man, the light, knowledge and true worship God must take over. Amen!!
