THEME: GHANA: THE NEW JERUSALEM, REDEEMED BY GOD FOR PEACE 

Peace be unto the Nation and People of Ghana. We write at the instance of the Most High God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Father of the LORD Jesus Christ.  The Lord God would have His servant inform the President, Government and People of Ghana that He the Most High God has redeemed Ghana from the powers of darkness and enemies of the state, nation and people of the country. Ghana is Free. Ghana will henceforth be a land and people of peace. 

According to the Lord, He has set Ghana apart as a chosen nation and people for His praise and Glory in Africa and in all the earth.  He has accordingly given Ghana a new name, The New Jerusalem, a Nation, Government and People of Peace in, after and for Him the Most High God. For this reason, He Has given Ghana unto His Son Jesus Christ for His Reign and Rule of the land. Christ the Prince of Peace has since set up His Throne of Glory in the land.  Jesus Christ is now King, Lord and Governor of Ghana. 

A Divine Star has risen upon Ghana.  Ghana shall shine forth as a people redeemed by God, a land and people of peace, a Beulah Land, a Royal Diadem and Crown of Glory in the Hand of the Most High Almighty God.  Ghana Star of Africa.  

May we state briefly by way of explanation in this respect the movement of the Hand of God in the deliverance and redemption of the nation. It may be remembered that although the first government of the Fourth Republic had run its full course and a second one was in place, there arose musings at the close of the nineties for the extension of the duration of the term of governments under the 1992 Constitution. It was by the grace of God that the musings did not generate high political debate to pave way for translation into practical reality. When this is viewed in the context of developments in Zimbabwe and neighboring Togo, Ghana should count herself blessed. 

The 2000 General Election can be deemed therefore to be Divine Act of Mercy upon Ghana and God’s final move to translate the spiritual redemption of the country into practical reality. In fact, the redemption of Ghana was finalized in the spirit February 1995.  The end of the Rawlings-NDC regime also took place on June 30, 2000.  The change in government took place before the 2000 General Election. 

We have discussed this several times elsewhere already.  But suffice to state here that the Lord related the 2000 election to the fall of Dagon the god of the Philistines as stated in 1st Samuel Chapter 5.  The second round 2000 Presidential election was the coup de grace that brought the practical manifestation of the spiritual redemption of the country.  The Lord God of Ghana was in full control of the events. Since the assumption of office of the President Kufuor administration however, there have been three major moves to turn things over and destabilize the peace, quiet and progress of the country.  

First, there have been attempts to assassinate President Kufuor through, fetish power and accidents, road accidents and plane crash. 

Second, there have been attempts at making the nation non-governable through extended armed robbery, political feuds and disturbances on the verge of wars, and economic-cum-social agitation through diverse means not excluding noisy claims about inefficiency, non-performance, non-fulfillment of election pledges, harassment, et al by a government less than three years in office. From a spiritual and historical perspective, the allegations of non-performance, “most corrupt”, etc. cannot be treated as mere rantings of disillusionment. This brings us to the third sword engineered against the Kufuor Administration, namely ‘coup d’etat.’  It is only Divine intervention that has held such a venture at bay. 

In this latter regard, the nation and people, particularly the national security agencies should not dismiss the “Boom Boom” episode as though they were empty noise of toothless carnivals. The mouth speaks the abundance of the heart.  The spiritual reality is that hearts, minds and spirits have gone into it. It has taken the Will, Sovereign Power and intervention of the Almighty God to stop the flow of blood and the rivers of darkness and death, political confusion and disturbances, and socio-economic agitation aimed at the disruption of the democratic political process, production and national processes as a whole. For example, the tension caused by the recent June 4 celebration declarations did not slip away by any wishful thinking. 

It required Divine Mercy and the interventionist hand of God in wisdom and tact on the part of government on one part, and understanding and public-spirited action on the part of the media and general public as a whole. Our God, the God of Ghana reigns. God is fighting battles for Ghana.  Otherwise, the wicked and unrighteous with their foreign accomplices would have held the nation to ransom.  

May we seize this opportunity to appeal to all the God-Loving Loyal Citizens of Ghana, particularly Christians who have favor with the King of Glory to continue to intercede and hold the nation high before the mercy seat of God, especially during political turbulences such as we have now.  Ghana our beloved country’s destiny, Peace, Progress, Prosperity and the well-being of her people present, and future generations cannot be hazarded at the shrines of demons or gods and goddesses, which the Bible describes as idols and beggarly elements. 

We cannot place nation and people, the fate of our children and businesses and efforts at social advancement at the mercy of gods and deities of rivers and the sea, the forests and stones, witches and wizards, flying saucers and the dead. 

Further, we appeal that all citizens who have the nation at heart, all who want truth and honesty, peace, righteousness, justice and social harmony, to prevail to give the National Reconciliation Commission the fullest of support. Let us pray for Divine Wisdom, Discernment and Courage for the members of the Commission.  At the end of the day, it is God who knows all the truth that will decide.  There is nothing hidden before the Almighty Righteous God. The NRC signifies the Risen Merciful and Interventionist Hand of God at work to stop all the forces of evil and wickedness, darkness and death at work in the land so there be peace and joy and meaningful co-operation for national efforts. Let us co-operate with God and give chance no more to those who would want to live by blood and robbery, confusion and chaos, and those who would place the people and destiny of the nation under Satan.
