GHANA’S PROPHETIC PATH: THE SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION OF POLITICAL LEADERSHIP

Series:

THEME: POLITICAL SUCCESS REQUIRES ACKNOWLEDGING AND OBEYING GOD’S PLAN

Immanuel Enoch, an Apostle-Prophet of Christ to Church and Nations, elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in sanctification of the spirit for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to the leaders and people of Ghana.  Now is the time for reckoning, acknowledging, counting and thanking God for His Blessing upon our country. That the dark days are over, and that Ghana has entered into and is enjoying a state of peace and stable political and economic processes in spite of the myriad spiritual, religious, politico-economic and socio-cultural problems is a matter of the great divine hand and move of God warranting unreserved thanks, trust and hope in God the Creator by the entire populace of the country.   This is not the work of man nor of any human or any other spirit device save the creators by the son given the nations.

Now therefore should Ghana seek to find humble, God Acknowledging, God-Fearing, Peaceful, Righteous, Just, Informed, Knowledgeable Leaders of vision, courage and wisdom at all the gates and in all spheres of national life.  For Ghana must do all she can with the direction and assistance of God never to return to the dark days (Psalm 127:1; 33:8-19). It is with this in mind that we feel compelled to write this special open letter addressed primarily to the presidential aspirants and leaders of the political parties, present and future of the land. The simple message we deliver should also be treated as an appeal to the voting public in particular and entire citizenry of the nation in general.

This is the message:  that Ghana must reckon with God and acknowledge the will, desire, works and hand of God for the country and people, count her blessings and never forsake again The LORD God Almighty, Father of Jesus Christ in all her affairs.  It is God who has fought to liberate, redeem and establish the country in the present state of peace and stable and hopeful processes. Thanks for humble and faithful instruments. But God is the architect, doer and preserver.

In working to observe and preserve the Hand of God on the nation, we must seek to understand a few lessons of history.  The first set of such lessons are:

I. Why did Nkrumah, Busia and Limann fall?

II. Why did Nkrumah and Busia die in exile?  Why did Nkrumah die before Limann’s Administration? Why was it not possible for Busia to return to Ghana at the fall of Acheampong?

III. Why did Imoru Egala die at the airport on his trip to Saudi Arabia?  Was his death natural and accidental or did it have any spiritual, religious and political undertones?

IV. What records and memory are there of the military men, Kotoka-Afrifa, Acheampong, Rawlings-Tsikata who overthrew civilian administrations?  What of the records of Akuffo and Rawlings-Boakye-Gyan who overthrew military regimes.

The second set of questions pertain to the spiritual foundation, coverage and direction and hence philosophical direction and leadership of the country:

I. Who and/or What God (gods) and spiritual-cum-religious direction of the country?

II. What is the vision and direction and philosophical mechanism to attain the said vision?  What is the GOD (gods) if any of the chosen vision and philosophy?

III. Does the chosen vision and connected philosophy correspond with the Beliefs, Aspirations and Expectations of the People, present and future generations of the country?

IV. Have the chosen god(s) and philosophy(ies) any connection with those of the previous fallen regimes of post-colonial Ghana?

 V. By the way, what were the gods, religious systems, philosophies, forces and reasons for the Fall of the old Ghana Empire?

VI. Should the present and future Ghana Sankofa and retain those gods, systems and all?

VII. Whither Ghana?

The truth here is that Ghana has been, is and will ever remain A chosen nation and people by God the Creator, Father of Jesus Christ for His Praise and Glory in Africa and in all the earth.  The election of Ghana took place long before the colonial emancipation movement led by Danquah-Nkrumah.

Ghana’s march as a Chosen Christian Nation in Africa for Africa and the world is what was disrupted in the Nkrumah regime. This set the clock back, landing the nation in spiritual confusion, disruption in economic performance and twists and turns in the political arena until final deliverance in 1995 and full redemption in year 2000.

Year 2001 saw the full return to the original path of Christian Ghana, clear non-quasi–civilian rule, peace, stable conditions and hope for progressive political and economic change and social advance.  Many attempts have since been made to disrupt the genial and hopeful signs and return the country to the former chaotic and disruptive conditions.  But God’s raised hands are still high in the skies as well as on the grounds in the nation’s affairs.  That is why the nation must count and name her blessings. That is why all political parties and presidential aspirants in particular must watch out as to what God or god(s), what religious system(s), what philosophy(ies), what vision they have for Ghana?

The issue at stake is not economic and material progress for its sake.  Otherwise, we had more resources in the human and physical domain than many countries that have gone ahead. Nor is the issue, the lack of proper political organization, economic policies and social engineering.  Otherwise, Nkrumah would have been in power till today.

The issues at stake are more than silver and gold, policies and measures, class and gender orientation, important as they sound. The critical issues are: The God, Spiritual Foundation and Socio-Cultural Direction of the country! The final set of questions are for Christians and all God-fearing people who have aspirations for political office, particularly the high office of President, Vice-President and Ministers of State.

The first issue in this direction is that God, having established the country back on the Path of His will and desire with His mighty hand and works will not countenance anymore spiritual, political, religious and cultural return to the dark days of old Ghana Empire or the immediate post-Independence Ghana era.  The Golden Jubilee Year must therefore see the beginning of consolidation of the gains so far made.

Ghana cannot afford a time of trials and policy permutations such as flooded the political economy at the Fall of Nkrumah.  This state of confusion of spiritual, religious and political philosophy when Ghana had no God, no abiding religious faith and no enduring national integrating belief system, no identifiable, meaningful and holding philosophy subscribed to by the people, and thus no vision and no hope for the country must not be visited again. There should be no more Satan and man, blood and stone, idol and gold image worship!

Further, Ghana cannot and must not be held together only by the fear and worship of the gun and state power with cosmetic paternalistic elitism such as is evident in the USA, South Africa and other countries.

That is to say, all who seek public office must not only seek to know, acknowledge and get properly connected to the true God, Creator and Father of Jesus Christ. Every such candidate must seek the nod of the creator personally, particularly the Presidential aspirants.  Anyone without such credentials stand, I repeat stand little chance of election to the high office of president, unless of course Ghanaians as a whole would once again want to reject the hand of God and his blessings upon the land.

And let us be candid about this.  Man has been consistent in rejecting God, from the Garden of Eden to-date.  The cost to man and rest of creation has been very heavy.  Yet, Satan and Disobedient man care less!  However, if God can find a few faithfuls to stand in the gap and battle for the country the enemy(ies) of Ghana would have no way again with the destiny of Ghana till Jesus returns in His majestic glory to judge the world!

Let political ambition lure no one to take chances with God’s plan for and destiny of the nation. God and generations of the People of Ghana cannot forgive any one for such an adventure!!  May this open letter be enough of information and due warning to all (Acts 17:30).

Now, since Christianity is the God chosen faith and mechanism for God Kingdom Order and glory in Ghana, let us all submit and bow to this Spiritual Truth and Reality as nation and people.  This does not negate or prevent private religious beliefs and social conduct, so long as they do not contradict, violate nor obstruct the divine ordered norm and destiny of the nation.

As the Spirit of God led Paul to write in 1st Corinthians Chapter 14 verse 37, if anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write are the commandments of the LORD”

Finally, the greatest problem we face in this era is not so much what lessons to learn from Malaysia and others who had overtaken us due to the Divine Wrath and judgement.  What we face now is the need for deep and well constituted established repentance.  We also have to keep the ship of state in the Safe Waters of Divine Will, Blessed Hand and Spiritual Path.  The next issue is of keeping the Developmental processes and Policy Direction aimed at strengthening and consolidating the humble beginnings of President J.A. Kufuor in the Knowledge and Fear of God.  We need a President truly elected of God who can freely consult and strategise with the counsel and assistance of President J.A. Kufuor and not attempt to create a new image and glory of his/her own at this time of the country’s history.

This is not a time for yet another experiment, at least not during the 2008-2012 period.  We must all work together to stabilise, strengthen, give teeth to energise and place the Political, Economic and Social Processes of the present era on course for the future. This is a Spiritual, Philosophical and Social Prerogative if we can consolidate the gains with Ghana’s progress and launch out into the deep in the years following.

Meanwhile, all hands must be on deck against the proverbial corruption now endemic in the social fabric and political culture, and entire political economy.  The Divine Wrath, Fraud and Corruption have been the damning factors in the sorrowful story, the exodus of citizens and mismanagement of the resources and economic fortunes of the country. Now that Reconciliation and Divine Peace is with us, every citizen must be in arms against fraud, embezzlement and corruption!  corruption and greed seem to have overtaken and overshadowed everything in Ghana the Church and government, politics, business and the professions.  Ghana must be set free from them!!  Amen and Amen!!!
