TITLE: A Peculiar People

SYNOPSIS:
Encouraging and challenge to the church, especially the youth, to live up to
the standard expected of them by the scripture, as peculiar people.

I bring you greetings from Jesus Christ. He is my Lord. Do you know him? And
who is he to you?
The Psalmist said, I was glad when he said, let us go into the house of the Lord.
When I sat down just now, the Lord shared something with me about our
country a few minutes ago. I’m here because tonight, because I was thinking
about you people. The church now is the youth, I’m to address the youth today,
but all of you who are older should listen. The world now is in a very, very sad
state. It is fallen, it is forsaken, bewildered and desolate. Many people are
walking about today, I’m not talking about life or future, but they don’t know
who they are. If a person knows himself and is able to define him or herself, at
least he can find his location. And if you put GPS and you tap it on your internet
or computer, and you give it sufficient data, it shall locate yourself. So, you
have a certain location.
The other day, when we were in South Africa, the pastor was a doctor, and he
took us to their home. And while we were chatting, he asked where we stay in
Accra, and I said Haatso. So, he started plotting out Haatso, and he wanted to
know, He got Achimota- Nsawam road, on his small phone, trying to locate
Haatso. If I had said Madina or somewhere or Legon, he would easily have
found those places. It’s interesting if a Satellite in the skies can help people who
are driving. If you are in London and you have a GPS(Global Positioning
System), and you plot in your on it where you are going to in London, the GPS
(Global Positioning System) will tell you what the shortest route to your place
is, and indeed, if you don’t know the place, the system will direct you to where
you are going. The whole map of London has been plotted and put on the
computer, on the satellite. So, wherever you are in London, the streets have
names, houses have numbers. You can easily be located. There, is also the
Americans and their drone. Their drones are kind of unmanned planes. If
somebody in America has plotted Legion Hall where we are worshipping to kill
us, the drone will fly over to the location and blast us while we are in this
church, worshipping. It can tell the exact spot you are and locate you. There is
no hiding place. That also means that you are in a very discreet and desolate
world. Because your future is uncertain, and your life is just like a passing wind.
And the Bible says in Proverbs 18 verses 10 and 11; ‘The name of the Lord is a
strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe. The rich man’s wealth is
his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceits”. In his own eyes, his
own mind, he thinks money is his all. The name of the Lord is a strong tower,
the righteous run into, so it’s not everybody who runs into it and finds rest. If I
have Jesus, then I have everything, all things work together for my good. The
spirit of the Lord gave me assurance that whatever happened, whatever didn’t
happen, it is for our good, my good. It’s strange. As I said from the beginning
that, the world is fallen and forsaken, and those forsaken are the lost.
Ephesians chapter 2 verse 12 to 15 says.
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth
of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and
without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far
off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made
both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments
contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so
making peace”.
You who were strangers from the covenant of Israel and had not had the
privilege of the commandments, you were without hope and without God. Now,
the spirit of the Lord was addressing the church and people at Ephesus, who had
come into the knowledge of the Lord, through the reconciliation and redemption
that is in Jesus Christ. And he is telling them that you who were without hope,
without God. The people with hope and with God, are the Israelite. Now he is
addressing the people who are Gentile and had now been brought unto God
through the blood in Christ, who came to preach peace. And so, the enmity
between the Gentiles and the Jews were abolished. And he has made out of the
two nations of the two people one man.
The people of the world today are people without hope and without God. So, if
you see the rich man, the professors, the learned people, great scientists, and the
rich people like people like Kofi Annan, if they don’t have God, they are a
forsaken people and the people without God and without hope. When you live
among these people and these people have become your role models in life. And
their styles, their ideas and philosophies, their practices have become the ideal
things that you follow. Romans chapter 8 verse 8 to 14 reads.
“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the
flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any
man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the
body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if
the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised
up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that
dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live
after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by
the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”.
What makes the difference? If the emphasis is so much on righteousness. What
does the Holy Spirit mean? He said, “There is therefore now no condemnation
to them which are in Christ Jesus, but he added a clause who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit”. So, if you are a Christian and you are looking at life
from the fleshly or worldly perspective you will die. Those who are in the world
and are looking at the world from the worldly perspective and they are living
believing in the flesh and they trust in the works of men. They trust in their own
mind and their own power. They are lost. These are the bewildered people.
They are bewildered because things don’t work the way they want, even if they
work the way they want there’s no hope. There’s no hope in even what they
think is great.
All is vanity. So, if you have come to Christ then be a Christian and walk as not
just a Christian, a religious person but walk as somebody who is led by the Holy
Spirit. Because if you are not led by the Holy Spirit your mindset, your
understanding, your engagement around the world shall be according to the
understanding, expectations, and rewards of the world. It’s because of the youth
that I’m here today. As I was lying down in the night thinking about you and the
world and all that I’m coming to tell you today is in 1st Peter chapter 2, from
verse 5 “ Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”.
You see we are dancing here and shouting here. But are the dancing and the
shouting are acceptable to God. You are a holy priesthood, and what do the
priests do? They supervise the worship and sacrifice of the people before God,
Old Testament style. And you have been chosen after the pattern of priesthood,
and your duty is to lead the nation into worship. So, when they bring their
sacrifices, peace offering, this offering, this and that, you supervise them and
make consecrated materials so that they shall be acceptable to God. So, when
we come to church and you are a singer, it is not to let us feel good in ourselves,
that we choose songs that will appeal to the flesh, that appeal to the mind of
men. And the standards and expectations and rewards of the world.
Because if you live after the flesh, you shall surely die. So, these are forsaking
people. They are without God. They are bewildered, they are happy and
dancing, but there is no hope. This morning, I was watching KSM, and they
brought a certain young man, they said he is a musician and he and his group
created the Azonto dance. He was claiming responsibility. Now they have
created a new one called “Alkayida” dance. And if you are in this church, you
are involved in Azonto and “Alkayida” dance you are a bewildered and
forsaken person without hope. You see, the guy was excited to say that his
album is now leading, number one. They are not just sinners but there is no
hope for them. The guy is proud that Azonto is now well known, now he’s
bringing “Alkayida”. But what is “Alkayida”? The guy is saying that the youth
are rebelling against world change. And the Alkayida’s were responsible for
bombing America, and they were responsible for terrorism in the world. Now,
you have a dance saying “Alkayida”, you are letting people know that they are
supporters of terrorism and violence. He was brought on KSM show and he was
happy, but all this is death and without hope. Verse 6 to 7 of 1st Peter 2 reads.
“Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief
corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be
confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them
which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is
made* the head of the corner”.
So, you see, these people, they think of you that you are a Christian. Therefore,
you are a loser. Psalm 33 verse 8 to 12, says.
“Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in
awe of him. For He spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices
of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the
thoughts of his heart to all generations”.
So, you see that if the Lord brings the counsel of the people to nought, it means
the whole world, what they are so proud of and shouting about the end is nought
zero. There is no hope. From verses 12 to 16 the bible says.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath
chosen for his own inheritance. The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth
all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the
inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all
their works. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is
not delivered by much strength”.
God knows all the inhabitants of the earth. So, he is saying that when God looks
at the works of men and did their proud and shouting about, he laughs. And the
key expression is that He fashions their hearts alike. He knows that they are but
men. In other words, if you take Psalm 49, you have another dimension.
Brethren, the Bible says that the Lord in heaven knows them, and all the heart
desires of men, that they think that they oversee their lives and take decisions,
He the Lord fashions them. And the result is zero.
1st Peter 2 Verse 8 says, “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even
to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were
appointed”.
Jesus is the word of God, and the word of God is a stone of offense. The Word
of God, when you begin to talk the world, you talk to your friends, the worldly
people., even some Christians, they speak a language that if you are a Christian
and you know scripture, and you are led by the Holy Spirit, you know that this
man is not Christian at all. When a man is a Christian, his actions and speech
shows that he a Christian. Likewise, you can know those people in the big
churches that are not Christians. This morning, I was telling my children, if you
have a lot of these motivational talks, Ota Bill, Ashu Mulugu, Dr. Munroe, a
whole lot of them. There, is this man and his women on Joy FM and on TV,
they counsel people and if you listen to their discussions and their counsel, you
know it’s empty. It is just worldly wisdom. These are very popular. I am saying
it as a child of God and a good friend of you and Jesus Christ. I want you to
know that if you really are a Christian, the way you walk about, the way you
speak tells me whether you are a Christian or not. It’s not what kind of church
you attend and how many years you have been in the church. And if I have a
privilege of telling you, I will tell you, are you a Christian? That’s if I love you.
I’m supposed to love you. So, when I meet you, and we chat, I will ask if, you
are sure. The kind of things they say when you are listening to them on the TV
and radio or you are reading their books and hearing their counsel, they are all
the mind and wisdom of the world. Today I’m talking to my children. 1
Corinthians chapter 2 verse 2 to 5 says,
“For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him
crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not
stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”.
The emphasis in verse 4 is “enticing words”. There are words that they say and
they entice you, some of them will even seduce you. But in demonstration of
the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men
but in the power of God. If you are not a Christian, your boasting, your
knowledge, your rap, and enticing words of men which is worldly, will pass
away. My children, my sons and daughters tonight, I was thinking about you
and your future. I will tell you why. The latter part of 1st 2 Peter verse 8 says.
“Being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed”. And Psalm 33 verse
15 says “He fashioneth their hearts alike: he considereth all their works”. And
here in verse 8 of 1st Peter he said, “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of
offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto
also they were appointed”. He said even in the character of disobedience, they
were appointed. It’s a mystery. They were appointed. Ephesians chapter 2 first
two verses.
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. Wherein in
time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the
prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience”.
According to understanding, the details and directions and the course of this
world. According to the prince of the power of the air. Who is in charge? The
prince of the power of the air. So, when you are discussing the Word of God to
them, and they are challenging you, if the Lord does not lead you, or you don’t
have a spirit of mercy, and love, and redemption in you then you know this
people this is how they will be, God fashioned their hearts, Psalm 33verses 15.
Ephesians chapter 2 verse 2 says according to the course of this world. And this
is what delights them. If you take 2 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 12; “For we
dare not make ourselves of the number or compare ourselves with some that
commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and
comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise”.
They even compare one another themselves. They congratulate themselves, that
they are great. When you see them, some of these pastors at the big churches
and so on, some of them are completely lost. And they are proud that they have
big money, they are big names, they have large congregations. It’s a sad affair,
I’m not even looking at their lifestyle, but the kind of things they preach, the
language they speak, you know they haven’t met God yet. A lot of them have
not even seen the Lord yet. Because the teachings, and the preachings, and the
representations in their churches, do not make them seek for God. They seek
after the things of this world, and how to solve their problems and succeed in
life. So, if you go to such a church for about 2 or 3 years, there will be no desire
to seek God. But this is a generation of them that seek the Lord. These people
don’t seek the Lord; they are seeking how to succeed in these things. So, when
you begin to talk to them about Jesus Christ, you begin to talk about scripture,
it
doesn’t make sense to them. I remember when we did this program, “For me to
live is Christ”. And people were asking what it meant. A lot of young men who
were Christians, it doesn’t make sense to them. And they will not even take the
scripture and study it. But they have not even come to the context or realization
that it is God that has called them, and that it is He that they are serving, and life
is a gift given to us by God, we sit at His feet, and He teaches us the way of life.
Children that are obedient to their parents, you can see, sit at the feet of their
parents, and their parents direct their lives. Those who are proud and foolish
don’t even want to listen to their fathers. They go and listen to their friends in
their schools or wherever they are going. That’s how they fashion their lives.
Their friends and their colleagues are the people who direct them. Imagine 10
years old girl getting direction from a 10 year or 11 years old boy, and they
think that they are in the best world, and they congratulate themselves. For
example, the child that said, “my mother is the best cook in the whole wide
world”. It’s exciting, they are selling things. But that little child, how many
people has he met in life to tell us that her mother is the best cook? But she is
testifying based on the things she sees her mother do for her. We can also testify
about Jesus Christ based on the little things we know about Him. 1st Peter 2
Verse 9 and 10 says, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an
holy nation, peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who
hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Which in time past
were noy a people, but are now the people of God; which had not obtained
mercy but now have mercy”.
Jesus said nobody comes to Him except, He calls. And sometimes you don’t
even understand and who says he understands why he was born by his parents
or her parents? When you were conceived, did you decide who was to be your
mother? Did you decide who is to be your father. Then when you come God
says honor your parent, but you don’t care. You don’t listen to your parents, but
you listen to your friends in school. They are cool ones. The young men will
have all kinds of names for their parents. And many of you here are having the
same problems, though you are sitting down here, and God said you are a
chosen people. People who have been specially chosen by God, who fashions
the lives of men according to His mind. But as for you he took you out of those
that He fashions their hearts. Those people when they hear the word of God it’s
offense to them. But He has put a holy desire, He put a spirit in you that makes
you enjoy and rejoice in the scriptures. And you search the scriptures to know
more about Him. You don’t read the scriptures now to pass an examination but
to know God, to find Him. If you take your Bible in the morning, and you study
it and read it God has an appointment with you every time. The moment you
pick the Bible with a desire to read it He Jehovah who created you and called
you and is with you knows where you are. If GPS can tell you your location, He
Jehovah knows your location. You are what? A chosen generation, a royal
priesthood. Priests and Kings, people that He Jehovah will use as priests. Who
are the priests? They used to worship Him and make sacrifices. And kings are
what? Rulers. If He wants human beings to know Him and worship Him, He has
hope in you, that you bring them to know Him. And if He wants somebody to
tell the world His mind, He has you to rule the world with. So, you are an holy
nation, you are holy unto Him. You are the people God in His wisdom has
appointed in a time like this when the world is forsaken and fallen and
bewildered and desolate you have been chosen.
In a time like this, and when you get to a place where “Azonto” or “Alkayida”
or any of these dances hip hop and it’s rampant, there’s something in you that
tells you, you don’t belong here. If you know the scripture and you are filled
with the Holy Ghost, there are certain books and ideas that when you are
reading, the Holy Spirit will tell you this is not of me, so don’t read it. It
becomes offensive to you, you can’t even explain why you don’t like that book. I
don’t need to read the whole book to know that the book is offensive. He, that is
in me, knows everything and the mind of the writer and the objectives of that
book.
So, He says a holy nation, a peculiar people, another version of the bible says
special people of God. I like the King James verse. He says you are peculiar.
When you are among your friends and so on, you speak a different language,
and your behavior is different. So, they call may call you names. But if you are
very strong, very soon they start calling you “Osofo”, and some may say Osofo
by teasing you, but it’s a spiritual recognition that there is a grace in you. So,
when I was a young man in church, they said “brother there is a grace upon you,
let it come out”, then I said, will you help me? He said, but at this stage, who
can help you, you must learn to pray for yourself. Nobody can tell the grace in
you, but for that grace to work, search for God, for He is the one that gave you
that grace and learn to walk with Him, He will teach you. He is the only one
that knows how that grace will manifest. So, you learn to walk with God, most
of the things I’ve learned, I’ve not read in any book, I’ve not gone to any Bible
School. But I’ve been to a good school, the school of the Holy Spirit. And He’s
my friend in bed. He’s my friend in my car. He’s my friend everywhere. I’ve
learned to walk with the Holy Spirit from very young stage as a young
Christian.
Now, beloved, when I didn’t know of the Holy Spirit, I was not interested too
much. But when I came, I was baptized by the Holy Spirit and I got to know the
Holy Spirit, I became a different person. I used to work with the National Trade
Fair Organization. I was one of the three officers that started that trade fair in
1967. And I got baptized by the Holy Spirit in 1968. And I was working in the
secretariat. I think I was number two or number three in command. But the
whole trade fair becomes my trade fair, and, in the night, I’ll be there. All the
watchmen know me. Well, you know, I’m always free with people. So, I’ll go
there at night and pray and during the day, I’m in my office. And I am
overruling them and directing them in the work because I’m a senior officer. But
in the night, I play with the watchmen, they will not allow me to go there if I
don’t have that relationship with them, because I might be coming there to steal
at that hour. But that’s where I would go and pray, and I was there. One thing is
certain; I was safe and secure there. When I’m shouting there, nobody will come
and bother me that I’m disturbing. Besides, the watchmen are my protection. I
didn’t hide from them for I knew that the Lord I’m walking with will let the
people know that I was there. I was not led by any pastor by night to go and
seek God’s face. My elders didn’t tell me to go and do that. I went to the trade
fair site. I was a senior officer, Brethren, and went and prayed on my own. I was
walking with God, I built a friendship with Him, and I was chatting with Him.
And so, it is not strange to me, the operations of the Holy Spirit. Somebody tells
you that you can go and drink, it’s nothing you are a Christian, you have the
Holy Spirit, you can drink alcohol, most pastors drink, so-called holy ghost
men, they drink before they go to preach. The Holy Spirit cannot co-exist with
Alcohol. Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18 and 19. “And be not drunk with wine,
wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the
Lord”. The Spirit cannot co-exist with alcohol. Alcohol cannot catch the
prophecy about Jesus being called a Nazarene. There is a certain level of
anointing and calling where you are walking on holy grounds. Young people,
I’m telling you that you have come to a place and church where what we are
teaching seems to be very cruel, and you don’t understand when you go to
church. And except if you’re deeply with the Holy Ghost and want to walk with
the Holy Spirit, you can easily fall prey to some of these Azonto spirits. Some
of you, when you come here, are sweet and nice, but the moment you get there,
then you are part of them. Because that is what they call Gospel or Christianity,
by their understanding. But beloved, the Bible says, ye are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; I want you to understand
the word peculiar here. That you are a different people, beloved in Jesus Christ,
there are many churches over there, there are many places there, a lot of them
are not operated by the Holy Spirit, but human mind and human wisdom and
some by powers of darkness. At the moment, there’s a lot of discussion that the
African church is introducing witchcraft into the church. They call my attention
from London, and I said I’ll contribute. I told them in London some years ago
that the church, the African church,
instead of bringing true worship, we are
going back to the “Voodoo” style, and we are having a shrine concept of
worship. Where the people go to the shrine to consult for their problems. But
not to worship that God who is there. And this “Voodooism” or shrine concept
of religion, that is what has now increased in the so-called Charismatic, even
Pentecostal and Evangelical churches. The solution to problems has become
prime objective and practice and goal of the churches. There’s no desire to know
Jesus Christ. There’s no desire to walk with the Holy Spirit. Though they speak
in tongues. Some of them are learning how to speak in tongues, some may be
actually baptized. But I’m telling you, you can be baptized, but you can be
diverted by another spirit, even if not another spirit or not a strange spirit, but
your own spirit, your desire to live, to achieve things in the world. Your own
desire can push you ahead, and you will put aside the directions of the Holy
Spirit and the plodding’s of the Spirit of God and the directions of the
Scriptures. You will put aside those things because you have a personal desire
to attain, to achieve, to go and brethren in the Lord Jesus Christ, please, I’ve
been pleading with you this day. I spent the night thinking about you. I want
you to remember you are a peculiar people. God has chosen you for a time like
this. A time like this when the church is gone. A time like this when the whole
nation is supposed to be a Christian nation, but everything that is happening is
at best religion and not Christianity. But you are a chosen people. I want you to
consider yourself blessed in this house. What I have not seen with you, a holy
desire to get deep into things of the Lord. There’s no motivation to please the
Lord. John chapter 8 from verse 20 to 29
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as He taught in the temple: and no
man laid hands on Him; for His hour was not yet come.
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and
shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
22 Then said the Jews, Will He kill himself? because He saith, Whither I go, ye
cannot come.
23 And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this
world; I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not
that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Then said they unto Him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the
same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent me is true;
and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him.
27 They understood not that He spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, when ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall
ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath
taught me, I speak these things.
29 And He that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do
always those things that please Him.
I’m walking with my father, and you will not take it, but I’m assuring you, ye
are of this world, your thinking and your mindset is of the world, but I’m from
above. But though I’m in the world, the one who sent me has not deserted me.
He’s with me all this time. Though you make decisions to do whatever you
want to do with me, I know that my father, my Lord, is with me. And He give
them assurance, for I seek to do those things. Jesus is saying that I’m talking to
you about my father, I whom I am, and ye are not prepared to accept me. If you
don’t accept me, you
remain in your sin, but I want to assure you that I am going to be offered on the
tree I will die on the cross the people who are talking are part of the people who
are planning what to kill Him and they were saying that is He going to kill
Himself. They are planning to kill Him and He’s aware, but He’s not ashamed of
the cross, He’s going to the cross, He has made up His mind to fulfill the call
upon His life. John chapter 4 verse 34; “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do
the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work”. For this cause, I came and
nothing, no persuasion, no corruption, no challenges, no offering, no gifts of
this world, no pleasures of work can take me away from my father’s love and
the mission, I will complete that mission. My children I want to come to the
point that I can get some of you to make a decision for Jesus Christ today in the
next few months to come, that no matter what happens you will serve God.
When I say to serve God, it doesn’t mean that you cannot go and follow your
profession, it is God that calls you, it is not human, your parent or yourself,
when the time is right God will reveal Himself to you and you will know that of
a truth, it is God that has called you. So, it is not just thinking that I’m waiting
for the day that they will call me forth and anoint as a pastor before I show for
the seed or proof the blessings of God in my life. Whiles here, this is the hour
that you must show that God has purposely called you not become a pastor, but
you are an holy person to Him, a royal priesthood, a holy person unto God, tell
yourself I am separated unto God. My life that I live shall no longer be my
pleasure or seeking understanding. I know that some of you your parents will
not even agree with you because their expectations are themselves worldly, they
don’t have any vision, “I want my child to be a doctor”, I doesn’t prevent you
from being a doctor but be a child of God. A sanctified vessel of the Most High
holy unto God, and then He said I seek to do the will of the one who has sent
me and to please Him. I’m just doing it anyhow, but I am doing it with
understanding, that my Lord that called me will be pleased with my work. Some
of you approach the gospel and Gods work just like that, anyhow. I’m a
deaconess, I’m a singer, I’m an usher, some of you don’t even have anything
you can say in heaven that’s written that you are, since you came to this church,
there’s nothing that we can find that you are doing. You go and come, but you
don’t do anything to show that there is a gift or call on your life, not just the
call, but the Holy Spirit and scripture in you is enough. You don’t have to go
anywhere, but if you walk in it then will you find Him then will you know His
mind then will He reveal Himself to you, if you love Him and obey His
commandments He will manifest Himself and even go on further and introduce
you to the father, so the father and Him will come abode in you. It a certain
level of spiritual standing in Christ that the father will come to you, that Jesus
will introduce you to His Father. John 17 verse 11 to 12; “And now I am no
more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father,
keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be
one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name:
those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled”. He introducing to the father, He
said, these are the people who believed me, there is only one, son of perdition,
whom I cannot testify. There are many people who have lived with him
throughout those three or four years but when He was about to leave in John 17,
He prayed about the twelve, that these ones have heard my message and listened
to my message and knew that you My father has sent me. And this is eternal life
that they should know you the true God and the one that you sent that’s His
prayer in John 17, then He continued to pray for them especially and not them
alone but even we of this age and generation. I want to bless you, on this day
my children, I spent much of the night thinking about you, and I’m thinking
about the nation, I’m thinking about our generation. You are a special
generation such a people, I am looking at you like vessels of hope for the Most
High God in our country, that God has placed you in this place. He has plans to
find some of you that you can be vessels that He will walk through you to show
forth His marvelous light to our present generation, this is the befallen
bewildered, forsaking people. All that is taking place around you, He can use
you one day to address the situation. You are in the Universities, you are going
to University, High Schools, your character your language your behavior in the
schools, do you know that the teachers know you when you are Christian, they
can easily tell beloved, prove that you’ve come from this house. Let it be clean,
sure and clear that you come from a special fellowship called Ghana
Evangelical Society, but you can only prove it if you take delight in what is
taking place here, and you desire and press on, then the gift or grace in the
Church will come upon you, the anointing is here but you don’t see it because
you don’t even desire it. But when there is a desire for the holy things of God,
He who is Holy knows who knows who seek holy. He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him. So, you are sitting down here, and the preaching is
taking place, the singing and everything and nothing is happening to you, you
stand here you like the music or something you can go and comment upon it
except that you anything about it. My sons and daughters, it must show, let God
be happy and pleased with you, then the thing will flow from above. I go to
places and people want me to anoint them, September 7th there’s a celebration
they want me to have impartation and anointing to Pastors and Bishops, I was
laughing I don’t cast pearls before swine, so I’ll go and preach and whom the
Lord Himself is pleased will anoint. I’ve stopped anointing them, I walk
through and people will be falling down, I didn’t select them, it is the person’s
spirit, soul and his commitment to God, God will reveal Himself to the person,
that the Lord you are standing and worshipping, knows you already, so when
you make an effort He will let you know that indeed He is God, He will let you
know Him. I am worried about the young people, today is your day, take the
gift of God, I’ve gifted it to you take it. I’m coming here to bless you the youth
of this house, the Lord has some great expectations. And those of you that will
avail yourself to please the Lord, will see the blessings in it. God bless you.
Finally, Psalm 144, today the spirit of the Lord is interested in the young people
I’ve come here to bless you today, I’m here purposely to bless the young people
and so receive your blessing in the psalm we are going to read Amen. Psalm
144 is a prayer of David, he said, “Blessed be the Lord my strength” not his
own strength, but the strength of God. “Which teacheth my hands to war”,
David was a great warrior but he’s saying that it is God who taught him and
makes his hands special for war. When I was asking “you who is Jesus”, you
see the struggle you were having, even more confused when I came to Jehovah,
but you see David he said, “Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my
hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high
tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my
people under me”.
First, you see his delight in introducing God, his God my strength, my fortress,
my high tower, my deliverer the one who delights in me, of course he also
delights in Him. If you don’t have God and you don’t delight in Him this way
and have no experience you cannot say what David is saying. It’s an experience,
a relational experience and he’s testifying about this God as a great God to Him.
Verse 3; “Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of
man, that thou makest account of him”. Can you imagine this, children of the
Most High God, what is man that thou makest account of him, David is
referring to how God relates to him that’s what he’s saying, what is man, who
am I that even the Most High God thinks of me. I told you that I had an
experience on weekend and I got a call this morning, there was a missed call, I
mean there were people were looking for me by 12 there about, I was in the hall
when I went and picked he said oh we were looking for you all this time, then
the song say all things work together for good, because the Lord I serve knows
all that will come my way. He is my delivery, my high tower, my strength.
David didn’t say that just by a casual experience of God or one day reading of
the bible no he has experience with the Most High God and that’s what is
expected of all of you.
Verse 4 to “Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away”.
I told you he is forsaken, he is bewildered, he is desolate, his days are like a
shadow that pass away. Verse 5; “says bow thy heavens oh Lord and come
down touch the mountains and they shall smoke”, can you imagine that he a
human being can now command God in heaven to come down, what is the
authority that David has. The mountains are the top people where decisions are
made people who think they are great men and great women in Ghana who are
doing all kinds of things. He said touch these mountains and they will be like
smoke they’ll be like smoke. Cast forth your lighting and scatter them. deliver
me out of these strange waters, they are strange because they don’t know my
God. Verse 6 to 11; says “Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out
thine arrows, and destroy them. Send thine hand from above; rid me, and
deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; Whose mouth
speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. I will sing a
new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings
will I sing praises unto thee. It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who
delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. Rid me, and deliver me
from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right
hand is a right hand of falsehood”.
He is describing the environment
which know your standards but delivers me
from their hands fight my battles oh Lord. Verse 12; “That our sons may be as
plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones,
polished after the similitude of a palace”. Right now, you’ve started even
thinking of your posterity, if you arise and as God is blessing us today and you
take to what the Lord is saying your children also shall be as plants and seeds. I
told you I’ve come here to bless you today. Verse 13 says; “That our garners
may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth
thousands and ten thousands in our streets”. That’s our garnish may be full,
people are talking about prosperity, it’s like a farming community, the maize
they harvested, they have stored them in their garners. The season will come
when they’ll be on sale, there’ll be a time when the corn or the barns shall be
what’s needed. Verse 14 to 15 says; “That our oxen may be strong to labour;
that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our
streets.
15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose
God is the Lord”. I’m presenting you to the Lord today, and He will bless you,
and we shall see you of great fruitful race in a cruel generation in a time of
darkness and all, yet when you look round, the seems to be hopelessness, people
are now wondering what kind of church we have. I want you to shine, let
everyone know that there’s a church, you are remnant, you are a peculiar people,
you are people God has set apart, you shall shine in the darkness of the
environment and the stars of the Lord shall bless you, God shall be with you my
children, my Lord shall be your guide, your
reward, your defense. My God shall
be with you always, I pray that the Lord shall make you a prosperous nation,
may the Lord have mercy on you, may the Lord find amongst you the people
that truly He will be proud of and say these are my people. I want the Lord to
bless you; I want my father to bless you today young ones. I have not great
expectations, it is the Lord that has great expectations and whatever deposit of
spiritual gifts, opportunities and chances in life He shall open, let Him open
them for you, let Him prove that He is your God whom you are serving, your
worshiping is not in vain God bless you my people. The last two verses of
Psalm 144 “That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking
in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. Happy is that
people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is
the Lord”.
Now I want you to pray, everybody, fathers, mothers and youth, kneel and talk
to God, quietly kneel and pray talk to God alone, He’s not my God alone, He’s
your God our God. Psalm 144 verses 9 and 10; I will sing a new song unto thee,
O God. This is your scripture today, the whole time, verses 9 and 10 says, “I
will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten
strings will I sing praises unto thee. It is he that giveth salvation unto kings:
who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword”.
David is saying, his life shall be like a song. He will sing to the Most High God,
because this God is the one that even is a fortress for Kings. If He is not with
the King, it is a waste of energy. Let your life be a song, a new song that you are
singing to the Lord. Yes. O God. There must be a change in your life from now
onwards. Parents, you have heard how the Lord has spoken to your children.
How about your own lives? Are they of righteousness before God? Are they
committed to doing things that please the Lord? Your life is barely gone. What
have you offered? Is it possible that even how late it is, there can be
transformation in your life? That you also can sing a new song with your life
unto the Lord. It is He who strengthens you. It is He who gives you strength for
your work. It is He who teaches you your skills and your professions and so on.
Many of you are so occupied with yourselves and the things of this world. You
don’t have time for God. But tonight, this evening, God is calling us. A renewal
of His love for us. Reassurance of His whole heart. The world is falling. The
world is forsaken. The world is bewildered. The world is in desolation. But you
are in this house. And when I say the world, there are even many churches that
are in the world. We are not saying we are righteous, but God has found us and
granted the grace of our lives. It is up to us now to bless Him with a return of
love and service.
Hark! the voice of Jesus calling,
“Who will go and work today?
Fields are white, the harvest waiting,
Who will bear the sheaves away?”
Loud and long the Master calls out,
Rich reward he offers free:
Who will answer, gladly saying,
“Here am I, send me, send me.”
You have been sent, but are you faithful, the gifts and opportunities in this life
are all bestowed upon you by the father and the Son, Jesus Christ. Are they
dedicated to Him.
