BEHOLD JESUS CHRIST
THEME: THE SUPREMACY OF THE ETERNAL WORD OVER TRANSIENT CULTURAL ICONS
Praise, ye the Lord! Much debate has gone on and is in fact raging on very fiercely in recent years, in the church and religion circles, as well as among philosophers and scientists and men of will and power, fortune, and influence in the world is to: Who is Jesus Christ?
In this brief article on the subject, we present The Word, Mind, and Purposes of God the Creator as to who is Jesus Christ—first among men, and second among the priesthood of both God the Creator and of Satan and men. According to the LORD God Jehovah, Creator of Heaven and Earth, the name Jesus Christ is a special name given to one person only who has special assignment and task in the world. The name “Jesus” depicts the special assignment namely to save men from sin. (Matthew 1: 21).
In this connection, let us quote here briefly a declaration of God the Creator concerning the name Jesus. From this, we deduce two things—first, that Jesus is the sole self-revelation and manifestation of the Holy One God Creator, for the salvation of man from sin and second, for the true knowledge about what, whom and how He is. The Bible reveals in this connection that in Jesus Christ dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He is not just an embodiment of the Godhead in the flesh (1st Timothy 3: 16).
His mission task also depicts the love, compassion, works and hope of the true and only God for the human race and indeed creation subjected to sin and death, satanic deception, oppression, and control and the helplessness of fallen man over his own spirit and body, other spirits and human society.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3: 16 NKJV).
Jesus has come to save man from sin, to redeem him from his fallen nature, restore him in glory, and to reconcile man, creation, and the world as a whole with the Creator God and in the end, establish man and society in peace, righteousness, and joy in the worship, truth, knowledge, and Kingdom of God on earth in the nation and the world.
This makes Jesus Christ not only Saviour, Redeemer, and Reconciler but also Builder of a New Thing, new world order, as King and Lord of the world.
