BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM
THEME: DIVINE ACCOUNTABILITY, THE STANDARD OF RIGHTEOUS GOVERNANCE, AND THE CALL FOR NATIONAL ORDER
Praise the Lord! Jesus Christ is not a seer, a prophet, nor a wise man. He is God—who was at the beginning and will usher in the ending with His second coming (Gen.1:1-28; John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:1-5, 12-20). It is by Him, with Him, and for Him that the Triune God set the world into existence and motion. Soon, He comes to judge the world— all things and all men, both dead and living. It is this glorious Divine Person, Jesus the Christ, who was with God, was God, and became flesh in order to reconcile the world with God and redeem man and creation from destruction and disaster.
Bear for a while the treachery, imposture, falsehood, and wickedness of men. Soon their works and their fruits shall expose them. By their fruits, we shall know them. Whether they are ‘found out’ by men or not, judgment awaits them. There is no escape. In today’s world of open rejection of God, and the knowledge of Him, most pursue life goals, professional career, business, social enterprise, politics, governance, and leadership concerns with little or no sense of Divine Spiritual and social order, moral and cultural restraints, legal accountability.
Your Excellency, Blessed be JEHOVAH, who made heaven and earth. Peace be unto His Excellency, the President. Amen.
Jehovah has spoken: “Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.” We humbly plead: Let God arise for Ghana, so that the enemies of our nation may be scattered. Let God arise for the poor, the weak, and the needy—for the afflicted, the oppressed, and those accounted unto death—so that life, freedom, and liberty, along with peace, righteousness, justice, honesty, faith, and hope, can prosper. LET GOD ARISE to protect and defend His redemption and his mighty, wonderful works. May He grant peace, progress, and prosperity to His chosen nation, the Star of Africa, so it may rise and soar higher and higher for His praise and glory in Africa and the world.
Your Excellency, we write this because there is a rising trend of violence, wickedness, and lawlessness across the entire nation, but particularly within politics and governance of the country. On the political front, the stability and sanctity of both intra-party and inter-party relationships have suffered much violence. Indeed, your Excellency’s administration has been confronted with this phenomenon since you took office. It has since escalated into the promotion of lawlessness, injustice, and the wicked manipulation of State and Government power within the political arena.
We want to believe, in the sight of JEHOVAH GOD, that Your Excellency will not promote nor supervise the breakdown of law and order, the abuse of State power, or the disruption of the peace, tranquility, and stability of this country. We plead in the name of God and the people of Ghana—for whom God has made this nation a beacon of hope—that you call a HALT to this abysmal development.
May we take the liberty of your professed faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, to refer to the prayer of King David in Psalm 72. As he transitioned the throne to Solomon, David focused on the poor, the needy, and the oppressed. Please consider David’s vision for Israel in verses 3-4 and 12-14: “The mountains will bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor… For he will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper” (Psalm 72:3-4,12).
We provide this scripture for the information of the general reading public, assuming that as a Christian leader, you are already conversant with these Divine stipulations for Godly order. David’s prayer provides assurance of divine blessing and abundance for a nation under such a regime. He reveals that the name, fame, and glory of a King who follows this path will ascend beyond all boundaries—a truth proven by Solomon’s reign.
Your Excellency, many things are amiss today. We need not call your attention to every detail, as you have been well informed of the state of affairs since January 2009. However, the situation has reached an amazing crescendo: Armed National Security Forces, charged with enforcing law and order and defending a safe social order, are now being drawn into these partisan and lawless developments.
