DEAR PRESIDENT JOHN D. MAHAMA—WHAT TIME IS IT YOUR, EXCELLENCY? (PART I AND PART II)

Series:

THEME: PROPHETIC ACCOUNTABILITY AND THE HOUR OF NATIONAL VISITATION

PART I

Peace be unto His Excellency, President John D. Mahama. May the joys of good health, faith, and hope in the Most High God, smile favorably at you. May the counsel, direction, and protection of Jehovah God be your portion.  Above all, we wish that His Excellency will grow in experience and prosper in the Peace, Righteousness, Judgement, Justice, and Joy of God and the Mercy, Goodness, and Blessing in the Worship, Knowledge, Fear, and Honor of Jehovah God, Father of Jesus Christ, the King of Glory.

We write as Servant of the Most High God—a prophet and voice of God, a voice in the wilderness in church and religion, national, world, and human affairs—preparing the way for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In humble acknowledgement of and submission to His Majesty, we make the following observations and declarations on behalf of the Most High God. That Ghana is going through great stress, mourning, sorrow, tears, and pain cannot be denied. We are persuaded in this regard that His Excellency the President is well aware of and fully informed about the heat and fires thereof. Thanks be to God.

Your Excellency, it goes without saying that this is not a time of peace and quiet, ease of mind, and rest for His Excellency the President, his government, and administration. This indeed, cannot but be a time of deep and sober reflection; a time for prayerful consideration of times and seasons; a time of humble submission to Jehovah God; a time of honest, righteous, and responsible deliberation and conduct before God, the Creator, the God of Ghana as well as before the nation and people of the beloved motherland, whom you have sworn to serve as President, Head of State, and Head of Government.

Further, His Excellency may agree that this is not a time of blood sacrifices, incantations, oaths, swearing’s and vows before Satan, the gods, goddesses, and deities, all these entities are enemies of God the Creator as well as enemies of man, seed of woman created and standing in the image of God the Creator.  It is sad to observe in this direction that blood sacrifices, oaths, swearing’s and vows to gods is the common practice with African leadership as well as the leadership of the wicked in many nations round the globe. Hence, Africa is war-torn, devastated, and steeped deep in poverty, backwardness, and desolation. These leaders, after they satisfy the gods and pacify and satisfy the military and police, they care little hoots about the woes, suffering, pain, and cries of the people including many a time, their own ruling colleagues. Indeed, many governments around the globe have become terrorist, oppressive, and wicked organizations to their own nation and people. Wickedness multiplies upon wickedness, and oppression multiplies upon oppression. Things go bizarre!!

In such nations, the wise keep silent and hide. The good look on. The poor, weak, and needy sink in despondency and hopelessness.  Nature responds to this with gloomy weather, extreme heat, and poor performance. The voice of God comes through with disapproval in thunder and lightning, confusion and chaos. Surely, such is not the time and circumstance a wise, humble, loving, and God-fearing king with righteous princes would wish for his government, nation, and people.

Suffice to say in this direction, that it is apparent and clear that the time and season and circumstances confronting the people of Ghana, the state of the economy, and the open trend of deepening frustration, division, and fragmentation with politics, governance, and management of the country is a matter of deep concern and great worry for all. Certainly, THINGS HAVE GONE BAD. There is no debate about this.

“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.’ (Psalm 127:1)

Except, the Lord builds the nation; they labor in vain that attempt it. Except God is pleased with the leadership and people of a nation, the wisdom, counsel, direction, and blessing of God will not be forthcoming to government and people alike.

Your Excellency, can it be true to say that people have lost trust, confidence, and hope in politics, governance, and politicians on an unprecedented scale in the very short time of your presidency and governance? This is signified the more by the open and heightening cries against corruption, embezzlement, and fraud as well as the spate of labor disputes and stampedes by political party agents in the public sector, coupled with unsavory handling of discourse on national issues by government appointees and state agents.

Furthermore, there appears to be a carefree, abandoned style of governance and management of the political economy and social issues—such as education, health, labor, and unemployment and the national identity card issuing process. This has without doubt seriously eroded people’s confidence, trust, and ready participation in business, economic, and social enterprise. That is to say, both public and private enterprises and public weal as a whole have fallen to a very low ebb in the nation, hence, much suffering and pain, frustration and disillusionment in the country.

Affection and loyalty to the nation have been compromised and seriously undermined by the spate of corruption and suspicious, however false or true of state managed robbery, malfeasance, and fraud in the land. The truth, to be honest is that Ghana is gradually grinding to a halt.

Indeed, moral sanctity, righteous, just, honest conduct, sacrificial, loyal, and faithful service have all been abandoned in the country, particularly in the public sector. The unscrupulous and immoral activities of politicians, top executives, and management have robbed the country of its spirit, strength, and character in national affairs. It cannot be denied in this regard that lies, fraud, flattery, and violence are no sound and reliable mechanisms for consensus in nation building and governance.

PART II

Thanks be to God, the good news is that these unsavory and destructive developments and tendencies are being counterbalanced by the spirit of faith, trust, and hope in God in the land. The spirit of faith and hope in God is keeping people quiet and sober in the face of ‘gargantuan’ challenges and frustration with elected legislators, assembly men, ministers of state, and government appointees and public officials in general. There is disquiet even with the church and the judiciary in Ghana.

It must be stated meanwhile that, “Nyame te ase, Nyame bɛ kyerɛ” (God lives, God will provide) disposition of the Ghanaian’s is of deep spiritual, social, and cultural significance in the peace, stability, security, and resilience of the nation. It helps create spiritual buoyance and resilience for the country. The anti-God, anti-Christ, and faithless cannot easily dismiss this with any shouts of ‘religious opium.” Ultimately, it is the hand of the Lord God Jehovah that has kept and is keeping the nation afloat on the high seas—not the gods and—goddesses drunken with human blood and innate Divine endowed human spirit power converted and diverted into dark and wicked works.

Your Excellency must agree here, that a caring, concerned, and committed leadership cannot and must not exploit with careless abandonment and impunity the religious convictions and sentiments, behavior patterns, and conduct of the people of Ghana. Jehovah God will not let that go unpunished.  Divine wrath and judgement always await, arise, and abide with such leaders, nations, and people.

Thus, but for Divine gracious, merciful, and mighty hands on the nation, things would have certainly fallen apart. Ghana would have become yet another unstable, corrupt, violent war-torn African country—with power drunk leadership propped by so-called gods and foreign oppressors, robbers, and exploiters posing as allies. There is further the support of conscienceless hiring’s and hangers on, princes, princesses, appointees, and administrators of desolation, with yet many voiceless followers held captive by falsehood, fraud, and flattery. It is a sad observation that some church and religious leaders are falsely preaching, teaching, exhorting, and exalting money and success with gain, power, possession, position, and wealth as truth and proof of Divine approval, blessing, and presence.

Finally, we declare that legitimacy and right of office obtained through bribery, corruption, violent, unrighteous, and unjust methods disgrace not only the pretender or usurper but also and—more importantly still—the office itself. We do not think that His Excellency as a professed Christian, whether true or false, approved by honorable Christian leaders can accept, indulge in, approve, and stand by such unrighteous, unjust, dishonest, immoral, illegal, wicked, and scandalous methods and practices.

On the other hand, it is true to say that Divine hand and wisdom will never be missing with humble, righteous, just, honest, caring, and loyal leaders. Indeed, the same Divine wisdom and counsel can and do rise to expose lies, falsehood, hypocrisy, unrighteous, unjust, and oppressive methods and systems. Judgement becomes inevitable with wicked leaders and governments, even if there is suffering for a time. There will be ultimate relief for people and nation. Peace and hope will always prevail for the people who know their God and worship Him in spirit and truth. However, few they are, God will answer their cries in His own way.

Your Excellency, we are persuaded that it is because of these developments and goings on in the land that the Spirit of the Lord is making us pose the question to His Excellency, WHAT TIME IS IT? Certainly, the mistrust, misgiving, and frustration cannot be abated by promises, committees of enquiry, one-man committees at that, in the face of voluminous scandalous evidence, when time and prompt action are of political, cultural, and moral essence. Football games and entertainment will not bring light and hope either.

The Bible advises that there is time for everything. (Ecclesiasties 3: 1-2, 6, 10-12 KJV)

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” (verse 1-2).

“A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away” (verse 6).

“I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made everything beautiful in His time: also, He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.” (verse 10-12).

The conclusion of the matter is that the current state of Ghana’s political, economic, and social conditions calls for righteous, honest, just, and responsible government action and public cooperation. If this is not forthcoming, Divine intervention becomes inevitable in God worshipping and honoring nation, however few the faithful. Divine Hand comes in diverse and hence, non-predictable ways.

Thus, in view of the mounting accusations of corruption, inefficiency, and scandalous practices in the midst of suffering, mourning, frustration, disillusionment, and growing mistrust in the government and all, we believe and strongly suggest that this is the time of humble reflection. It is time indeed for resignation, at the least to seek fresh mandate, legitimacy, and the building up of trust, confidence, hope, and loyalty on the part of government and cooperation by all with government and Nation. Sure, THIS IS THE HOUR OF VISITATION by the LORD God Most High.

“The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in His temple doth everyone speak of His glory. The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King forever. The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.” (Psalm 29: 9-11 KJV)
