DIVINE CALL FOR A HALT TO RUN DOWN ON STATE BANKS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, NATIONAL ASSETS, RESOURCES AND THE TREASURY— (PART 1)
THEME: SAFEGUARDING THE NATIONAL HERITAGE AND THE RETURN TO RIGHTEOUSNESS
In 1976, the Most High God asked His servant to ask General Kutu Acheampong, to call for RIGHTEOUSNESS in the land and a halt to corruption, immoral acts, social evil, and disruption of developmental efforts and nation building in the various sectors of the country.
General Acheampong was heavily challenged by the Divine message. Although he feared that people might call him a hypocrite, he nevertheless humbled himself and arranged a state dinner at which he delivered the Divine message from the seat of government to the nation. This gave rise not only to the culture of National Prayer Services and Christian engagement in intercession and warfare against spiritual forces of darkness, death, social evil, unrighteousness, injustice, and wicked ways in politics, business, and society in general. Above all, with much deliberation, persuasion, and education, Christians found it necessary, expedient, and indeed, imperative to enter politics, business, professional conduct, the marketplace, and public services with open faith, worship, knowledge, fear, and honor of God.
As a result, the banner of righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ and the obedience and observance of the word of God and teachings of Jesus Christ, the law, commandments, light, and way of God became very attractive and acceptable way of conduct and life in the land. The knowledge, fear, honor, and glory of God was raised to new heights. The worship, knowledge, and honor of God through the Faith and Hope in Jesus Christ prospered and flourished. God’s blessings became a reality.
Unfortunately, two things emerged on the political and church scenes. There was first the Rawlings revolutionary anti-God, anti-Christ idolatrous movement, government, and policies that cut deep into the Christian ethos of righteousness and godliness, humility, and respect for authority, law, and order. This dealt a great devastating blow to the Christian youth movement in the land. Meanwhile, there arose teachings in the church that rejected Christian values of righteousness and faithfulness, humility, sacrifice, disdain for worldliness, gain, power, and possessions expounded in the scriptures. Instead, teachings that extolled the worship of mammon, riches, money, and gain, position, possessions, and power as elements and proof of righteousness, the teachings, lauding, and pursuit of prosperity, gain, and money, so-called ‘kingdom dominion’ life and power have undermined the spirit and culture of righteousness, holiness, and faithfulness, humble and moderate lifestyle, and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the true worship of God in spirit and in truth.
The anti-God, anti-Christ spirit of Satan and man have raised new standards of conduct and lifestyles in politics, government, business, and the professions, culture, and social milieu as a whole. Today, we face a very serious situation where corruption, embezzlement, fraud, outright robbery, careless and abandoned misapplication, misuse, and treatment of public funds, national assets, and resources have reached unprecedented heights. There is no longer shame, and no conscience. Again, there seems to be no sense of righteousness, justice, trust, responsibility. Lies, flattery, and open misconstruction and misrepresentation of facts and figures have become the order of the day. Professional savvy, skills, and practice have been turned into instruments of wickedness, robbery, exploitation, and oppression. Freedom and justice have been turned into license and larceny.
The truth, righteousness, knowledge, and fear of God have fled from the pulpit and church pews. Political parties, government, and media platforms have been turned into instruments of lies, flattery, falsehood, fraud, machines hatchet, exploitation, and manipulation of public opinion. Both undermine the peace and tranquility, progress, prosperity, stability, security, and the Divine destined glory for the nation.
These new developments have opened the floodgate for unrighteous, unjust, wicked ways, evil, and works of roguery, wickedness, and destruction into the entire political economy. Church and political leadership, politics, and the ministry, as well as business, executive, and professional conduct have all been so compromised and polluted, politicians, business, executives, professionals, and public officials are now ganging together to rob national assets, resources, and treasury with impunity and without any let or hindrance.
We do not wish to debate here the merits and demerits of sale of state enterprises and national assets immediately after the fall of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Similarly, the IMF and World Bank conditionalities and stipulations that led to massive devaluation of the cedi and the sale of state enterprises in the Rawlings era have lessons for us concerning vigilance with national assets and righteous and honest pursuit of national goals. But it is most unfortunate that instead of sound, acceptable, and jealous conduct, a new breed of politicians and public servants, business upstarts, and professionals should turn their eyes now on state banks and financial institutions including no less the Central Bank, Bank of Ghana.
The gangsters are now openly engaged in open robbery of national assets, resources, and unconscionable misappropriation of funds and robbery of the treasury. What a calamity that has befallen the country! Thus says the Lord God Jehovah;
“PRESIDENT JOHN D. MAHAMA: HALT THE RUN DOWN ON STATE BANKS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. FREE THE BANK OF GHANA FROM REPROACH.”
Ghana has lost the Black Star Line, Ghana Airways, Ghana National Trade Corporation, State mining companies, and many other state enterprises. Strange owners control now the gates of these enterprises.
May the church rise up with new zeal for truth, righteousness, faithfulness, love, and loyalty to the nation and people. May the government now step in to halt the imminent run down of state banks and financial institutions. May Parliament and public servants rise up to uphold standards and statutory regulations and rules and fortify the security of national assets, resources, and treasury from the greedy, rogues, unrighteous, unjust, unscrupulous, and wicked folks determined to destroy the country and run down the destined glory of Ghana as godly nation and people.
God Save Ghana!
