GLOBAL POLITICAL ECONOMY
THEME: AFRICA MUST RESIST GLOBAL POWERS’ FIGHT FOR CONTROL
The Global Economy under G-8 control is witnessing some shakings. There are internal as well as external forces challenging the power and wisdom and stability of the new world order. The G-8 fraternity is being expanded to G-10 not only to foster stability in gravity at the center but also to spread coverage and oil the mechanism for distribution and expedition regarding political and economic power and control of the wealth of the nations of the world.
To be sure, if there were no mechanism for distribution and expedition regarding power in the global political economy there would have been no need for the deliberation by the G-8 in the first place. It is not surprising in this regard that Africa is receiving a new level of attention in the global game of Political and Economic Power and Wealth Distribution.
Currently, Australia is playing a balancing role in the controlling game in power and wealth distribution between Euro-America and Asia. For, although Japan is a member of the G-8, the emergence and rising pedigree of China-India and the Koreas in the new World Order is posing threats to the status quo. All that may be required is an understanding and agreement between Japan, China and India to establish an Asian bloc standing together against the power and wealth of Euro-America.
When the Koreas come to understanding and collaborative arrangements alongside Japan, China and India, Asia will have established a strong and viable bloc in the power game of the global political economy.
In this connection, Australia seems to be conveniently and strategically poised between Euro-America and Asia. However, be it as it may, the roots of Australia have origin in Europe. And her sails are titled toward Euro-America. Australia can serve as a listening post and place for fresh waters for Euro-America in Asia. The Asia of Japan, China, India and the Koreas can easily attract Pakistan, Indonesia and the Tigers into her camp. That would leave Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Latin-America in the Euro-America sphere of the global political economy.
The critical question in this emerging arrangement is where and what place Africa. What position and what role Africa in the Global Political Economy Power and Wealth Distribution. One is tempted to ask will Africa be a continent only fit for grabs by the two contending forces. Or will Africa also emerge a political and economic power base with strong and viable political and economic power and effective control over her own resources and political economy as a whole?
During the Cold War era, the contention was essentially on the distribution and control of Africa’s emerging political power and wealth. However, the battle was skewed and made to focus on political ideology, but the truth is that both the Capitalist West and Communist East were engaged in the Political Economic Power and Wealth control game. Strictly speaking, there was no escape from the Exploitative and Oppressive Controlling of the two contending blocs.
Such is the situation with the new world Global Political Economy as presently constituted. There is no opening and escape route for Africa in particular. The G-8 summit only serves as a clearing house in the Power and Wealth game with the Bretton Woods group channeling Distribution, Expedition and Control. Africa must be ware and not fall prey to the claws of so-called Partnership for Poverty Alleviation, Development and Progress. Africa must not emerge as a turf for the global political economy game!
In that wise, Ghana must not serve as the Gate Way to the new world arrangements for the exploitation, oppression and robbery of Africa and the exploited and oppressed peoples of the world.
The Spirit of the LORD God Jehovah is upon me to sound a warning to Ghana and Africa. The new world order is now threatened by fierce power struggle between Euro-America and the rising powers of Asia, spearheaded by China. The G-8 secured domination of the global political economy through the agency of the UN Security Council is facing challenges from the G7 led by China. Should Japan manage a working relationship with China, the Asia-Euro-America divide will not only be clear. The fight for control of Africa will assume new dimensions.
In that case, Africa cannot expect to make any serious headway, no matter the MOUS, AIDS and Grants for Poverty Alleviation, Education, Health and Welfare. Is technology transfer a visible viable option in the current game! Indeed, the real theater of the Africa Control War will be with the subtle plans for the control of Political and Economic Power and Wealth of Africa.
Ghana as Star of Africa need to put on a special posture to lead Africa against the Balkanization and control of Africa. We must resist the Euro-America Imperialist machine and the Asian Politico-Religio Mantras.
GOD BLESS GHANA.
GOD BLESS AFRICA.
