THEME: BRINGING THE NATIONS BACK TO CHRIST (JEREMIAH 29:14) 

PREAMBLE  

We celebrate Divine grace upon our lives at this 10th Anniversary of Awesome Grace Network. To think of it, we are all blessed to have been present at THIS DIVINE TABLE OF HARVEST—Gathering Nations Back to Christ. Personally, I deem myself profoundly blessed to have met this party of Godly People and Servants of God, Missionaries of Christ in Africa, for Africa and the world. I can imagine the taste of good things: the opening of eyes and understanding the Mission in Africa and the connected anointing. Congratulations to all of us! Thanks be to God for His mercies.  I am sure we will be loaded with gifts, opportunities, and Awesome Grace for the mission journey.  We should all look forward to great things—yea, new things—in Africa.  Amen! 

In this respect, I have a story to tell: The Divine Vision and Mission accomplished in Ghana.  This has been established as A NEW THING IN GHANA—a New Church, a New People, and a New Nation coming out of the dust and darkness of Ghana through the working power of Jesus Christ and His redemption mission in the country with and through the church. 

 

INTRODUCTION 

The Ghana Redemption Mission is the basis of our contribution in the discussion of God’s Plan for Africa and the World: The Role of Ghana. No special claim of knowledge of God’s plan for Africa and the world. 

The basis of contribution in the seminar: 

a. The Holy Scriptures 

b. The Basis, Leading, Direction and Works in the Ghana Redemption Mission Story. 

c. The “New Thing in Ghana” as reality and model of God’s plan for Africa and the world. 

 

THE SCRIPTURAL BASE OF GOD’S PLAN FOR AFRICA AND THE WORLD 

1. God, creator of heaven and earth had plans for the world.  Essentially His Kingdom, Reign and Rule and Glory on earth as in heaven, established through the human race via Adam and Eve (Genesis 1, 2 & 3). 

2. The Garden of Eden Episode (Genesis 3). 

3. The episode of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). The seed of separation and scattering into language and culture, tribes and nations. In the process, Africa emerged as a great continent of peoples, nations and civilization—human progress, culture, and kingdom on earth (i.e. Ethiopia alongside Egypt) and others. 

4. Note: Africa will rise and Israel will be built.  Africa, the people of the wise, wisdom, and statecraft (Isaiah 19: 11-14). Israel was introduced to Heavenly Divine Kingdom Order on earth through Africa (Egypt – religio-politico-cultural system). 

6. Israel came of age in Africa and was redeemed and separated unto God from Africa to start A NEW THING—The Nations, People, and Kingdom of God. 

7. Moses, the Prophet-King, the agent of Divine Redemption and Kingdom on earth learnt from Egypt and Jethro His Egyptian father-in-law. 

8. Africa stood out in God’s plan for the nations in Christ.  

Herein the beginning of Divine Connection with Africa.  

I. The Baby Jesus in hiding in Egypt—the good reception of Christ and the faith in Africa / Septuagint ……………. 

 

THE NEW THING IN THE GENTILE WORLD: 

Through the Saviour, Redeemer, the King, Lord, and Governor—King Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9: 6-7; 42: 1-12) 

THE NEW THING  

a. To turn the Gentile peoples and nations unto God through faith in Christ (Acts 26: 18) 

b. To build the Kingdom of God on earth through Christ reign and rule on earth (Isaiah 9: 6-7; Matthew 6: 9-13, 33) 

c. To rebuild the nations (Isaiah 61: 1-6,11) 

Thus, the Church Mission structure namely Church Building/Kingdom Building and Nation Building – the Vital Mission Activities in the Nation. Though Africa witnessed God’s Power and works in Egypt, God curse on humanity intensified in Africa (Isaiah 19). Though Africa received the gospel, Africa held still to idolatry, Satanism, witchcraft, and others to date. As a result, Africa was left behind while Europe rose in the Light of Christ, borrowing in turn from Africa civilization and political order.  Thanks be to God; Europe took up the mantle of Christ Mission in the Gentile nations. Africa again in the Heavenly Missionary Enterprise. God did not forsake Africa.  Isaiah 19: 18-25. 

 

THE MIGHTY SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST  

II. Here the election of Gold Coast or Ghana for the Gospel in colonized Africa. Ghana elected so had Africa 

• The British Christian colonial system received much a “plus” in Gold Coast 

• The Benjamin Tribe in Ghana 

• The response of chiefs of Ghana to the Gospel 

• Gold Coast/Ghana as model colonial country 

• Emancipation Movement (Nkrumah was not the star – people gone ahead yet took the colonial emancipation very seriously). 

III. Ghana Redeemed (Blessed Hand of God on Chosen Nation) The call of the vision/mission of Bro. Enoch 

IV. Ghana Redemption Mission Model:  

Three things: – 

i. Revival in Church – building a righteous nation (Haggai, Ezra and Nehemiah) 

ii. Rebuilding of nation – Nehemiah 

iii. Kingdom Mission Battle (Isaiah 62: 10)—Reconciliation, Deliverance, Redemption, Establishment in God Kingdom Order cf Isaiah 62: 10 – Highway of Righteousness through faith in Christ. 

iv. Banner of Christ Lordship. 

 

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 

a. New Church –  

b. Revival Of Apostolic Foundation of Churches 

c. The Kingdom of God on Earth (1984) 

d. Confrontation 

e. Transformation  

f. New People (spiritual, tradition, custom/culture, confrontation, deliverance and transfer and take-over under Christ) 

g. New Nation—The vision of Church and Nation, politics/governance/kingdom order of peace, righteousness and justice and joy in the world and knowledge of God. 

This is a critical church vision/mission. 

 

GHANA TODAY 

Ghana stands today as the Star of Africa, characterized by peace and righteousness in Christ not just religion—many confess Faith in Christ (church leading, discipling, and effective participation in national affairs). Here the Holy Spirit and the Ghana Evangelical Society (GES) and the Church Body. 

 

CONCLUSION: 

Church, Africa, and the Gentile world (Isaiah 42: 1-12; Acts 26:18; Isaiah 5, 6 & 7). Ghana standing as Star of Africa, Beulah Land, God Kingdom Glory State, Star of Africa David awaited, declaration of Ghana as Christian Nation.  

God in national affairs……Politicians are openly diverting the way to powers/sorcery.
