THE OIL, THE SEAL, AND THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

Series:

THEME: SPIRITUAL INTEGRITY IN THE MANAGEMENT OF NATIONAL INHERITANCE

We salute His Excellency the President in the name of the Most High God.  May His Excellency enter the court of God, dwell, and flourish in the knowledge, fear, and work of the Creator. We have a message of peace, goodwill, and hope from the Lord God Jehovah to His Excellency and the nation and people of Ghana. Your Excellency, the Christmas season of “Peace on earth and Goodwill to all men” is of special attraction and significance to those who believe and seek to worship the true and living God.  Those who have faith in God for human pursuits and life— for the management of affairs of society and the governance of nations and the human agenda in general—look unto Jesus Christ for Spirit and Strength, authority and Power, Knowledge and Wisdom, direction and way.

Christ is the way for the worship and service of God, and the service of fellow men.  To such as know, profess, and stand by the true worship, knowledge, and obedience of God, their works and lives are pursued and portrayed in the Light of God, the Truth of Scripture, and the Spirit and Commandments of Jesus Christ, through the direction, leading, unction, and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Most importantly, Christians who take on leadership in society and the governance of nations are enjoined to take on the Christ Messianic Agenda:  peace on earth and goodwill towards men, the deliverance and redemption of peoples and nations, and the establishment of the nations in the knowledge of God and His Kingdom on earth so the will of God be done on earth as it is in heaven.  It is an open secret in this respect that by their fruits, both spirits and men can tell the true worshippers of God and saints. The scriptures declare, therefore, that “Not all who say Lord, Lord can enter into the Kingdom of God.”  By interpretation and extension, not all who profess to be godly or religious and wear “robes of holiness” have a true connection and standing with God. Not all have access to the court, presence, and Throne of God to receive spirit and know the mind, will, and purposes of God for their own lives, their endeavors and works.  Not all who claim to be of the Kingdom of God know and have the spirit and mind of God.  Many are, in fact, entrapped in the unrighteousness and falsehood of the spirit, power, mind, the knowledge, and wisdom of men and the deception and seduction of the world, yet they claim that they are of God. (1st Corinthians 2; 2nd Timothy 3).

The Lord God of Hosts has directed His servant in this regard to inform His Excellency how He Jehovah views his acts and works.  That His Excellency sees and acts neither according to He, Jehovah’s will and mind nor His Excellency’s own will, ideas, and plans. This He Jehovah finds to be unacceptable and indefensible.

According to the Lord God Jehovah, the President has sought to follow the agenda, ideas, and plans of people which in the final analysis are not according to Jehovah’s will, neither are they of the special plans set by His Excellency himself for his government and administration. Thus, in the matter of the oil and gas find and its exploitation for the honor of Him Jehovah who endowed the country with the resources and the good of the nation, His Excellency has not sought to seek and know He Jehovah’s will and plans for the country so to pursue them. Instead, His Excellency the President has sought to honor others—Kwame Nkrumah, Rawlings, and others—whose efforts however, strenuous did not lead to the oil find. Those regimes did not and could not find the hidden treasure because their plans and regimes were not poised for the honor of Him Jehovah, His plans, purposes, and destined glory for the nation.

On the other hand, His Excellency has sought to estrange the one in whose time He Jehovah lifted His hands off the hidden treasure and made way for its finding and exploitation.  Such acts and attitudes are unrighteous.  It will cause the break of the Seal of Divine Favour and prospects behind the Oil and Gas deposit and the development, progress, prosperity, and glory of the country.  “Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.”

May His Excellency take note in this direction that the goodwill and blessing of President John A. Kufuor is a deep spiritual, political, diplomatic, and cultural requirement for good governance, peace, and goodwill and progress of the country. Now, in the absence of any serious seeking for the will of God and agreement with the harnessing of the hidden treasure, plans are rather afoot to explore the agenda of the dead and living who have no place for God and whose plans are in any case not in the true interest of the country.  On the other hand, His Excellency has not himself thought out and formulated any ideas and plans for the true interest of the country.

In light of this, your humble servant will suggest the formation of a National Commission on Oil and Gas. The commission will examine the prospects of past and present proposals, invite, and make fresh and open proposals for consideration by government (Executive and Legislature) and people.

The National Commission on Oil and Gas will deliver the oil and gas industry from the narrow parochial interests of ruling governments, political parties, and personalities. For this purpose, the Commission properly constituted will have regional, political party, business, financial, legal, and professional representation to build faith, confidence, and public trust.  She will hopefully be fortified with Divine grace, and with loyalty, and determination in the knowledge and fear of God, deliver the country from internal and foreign forces, particularly foreign business and nations with their fingers in the investment, economic, and political processes of the country.  The nation will be secured in the Hand of God and the peace and goodwill of the people.

We submit the proposition having regard to the fears, misgivings, and political wranglings, challenges, and threats to the economic benefits, political stability, national security, and the independence and sovereignty of the nation. May we emphasize here that the National Commission on Oil and Gas is a suggestion from the servant of God and not a directive from the Most High God.  Nevertheless, we have the Spirit of God in us. May we end by stating that, as a servant of God and prophet of Jesus Christ who has been standing in the gap—engaged in spiritual warfare, as well as political and kingdom battles on the nation with teams since the mid-seventies—we can say that any attempt to clamp down on the oil and gas find, business, industry, and investment possibilities by the Mills Administration will be short-lived.  It will not see the light of day.

We humbly submit this Open Letter in the hope that Your Excellency does not lack loyalty, wisdom, and humility.  We trust that the President will accordingly be cautious and willing to review any investment plans, public expenditure, and loans based on the anticipated oil and gas revenue— acting in the true and best interest of the country and in the knowledge and understanding that the Most High God has His Hands upon the country. The truth is that the Atta-Mills Administration has but a few months in office. The investment plans and the anticipated industrial structure will take considerable time—maturing, perhaps, long after President Atta-Mills is no more.

We pray, therefore, that the nation is not mortgaged and exposed to harassment by governments of unchartered and uncertain duration, leaving the nation at the mercy of “vampires” of local and foreign companies, interests, nations, and powers.  Our trust and hope are in God.  “Let God be true and everyman a liar,” says the scripture.

“The Lord hath sworn by His right hand, and by the arm of His strength, surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured. But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of My holiness.” (Isaiah 62: 8-9 KJV)
