THEME: THE SUPREMACY OF THE VOICE: DIVINE FOUNDATION VS. THE TRIPOD OF MAN 

PREAMBLE 

Praise ye the LORD…Service to God…Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives…  

Today is a blessed day. The Holy One of Israel has indeed descended and made His abode in our midst.  What a blessing, what a Joy! 

Beloved, gradually the Church and the Nation are not only knowing, understanding, and respecting who we are and what we stand for; they are coming to the point of decision regarding what we have preached, proclaimed, declared, and—shall we say—decreed concerning the nation, the faith, and Africa.  

Listening to Busumburu Kofi Annan the other day, at the Inaugural Lecture of the Jubilee Year Lectures, I was amazed at the depth of insight, the beauty in the works of God for Africa and the confidence and hope that we in GES have in God, Christ Jesus and the Scriptures for Ghana and Africa. 

The Son of Ghana/Africa was talking on Renaissance in Africa, proposing a TRIPOD or Three-Legged animal for the renaissance movement. The 3-Legs/Pillars proposed are 

• Peace— for Security 

• Development—Political/Economic/Social/Cultural but Economic mainly 

• Human Rights—from Africa’s history (slavery) wars/oppression, etc. 

Beloved, the Busummuru tripod can go as far as it can, but I repeat: it cannot guarantee the liberation and restoration of glory to Africa. 

The truth first is that:  

• The goal is renaissance of Africa.  What renaissance, in what? The idolatry, witchcraft, and charms of Satan-Man worship?  

• The lost glory of Africa as leading continent in human endeavor cannot return in this Day and Age. 

• There is no way Africa can rise and overtake Europe, America, and Asia or stand on her own in the global village. We can only rise from shame but not to the old-time glory. 

In any case, be it as it may, the state of Restoration is that of reconciliation, repentance, and peace with God. The African gods have lost the battle many years ago. 

We need peace, yes. But it must be peace with God first, in the reflection of Satan and Idolatry, the worship of man, Blood Sacrifices, etc., etc. Otherwise, The Wrath of God abideth ever with diverse forms of operation and effect. 

Similarly, development is subject to definition, goal, coverage and process. But you and I know that “except the lord build the house they labor in vain.” 

The treasures of vanity, the Glory of Matter, the Power of Human Intellect, and Creativity cannot build stable, viable and permanent institutions/systems/structures in the absence of the knowledge and blessing and fullness of divine providence.  (Right now, the civilization of Europe and maternal progress in the West are both crumpling in the face of internal weakness and challenges from Asia. 

The religion diatribe and hope of “harmony of the fathers” offer no solution, neither for peace nor sustained progress. 

On the question of Human Rights, we have deep concern over not only Definition but also Application. The building of stable, viable, righteous, just, and progressive society demands more than a mere acquiescence to rights and duties, freedom and liberties. It demands a fundamental acceptance, respect, and honor of the Sacredness of Life, the Dignity of Man and the Spirit Natural of Human Existence and Reality. Debates on condom and Gay rights, Child Education and Child Labor, the Freedoms, Gay Rights, and Gender Balance cannot take care of deep-seated superstition, tradition, customs, culture, and practice of dishonor, disregard, and abuse. 

Our chiefs and politicians, businessmen, professionals—including the Priests, Pastors, Prophets, Apostles of my Church—still linger on in the worship of Creation, Satan, Man, the element and all due to ignorance, insecurity, and fear, the lust of power with position, possession, and fame. 

There is one observation here: Human Rights, as defined and determined in the world forum, has a basic tenet of Man being God, Deserving His privacy, Freedom, Hold Opinion and defy God and Conscience. 

To sum it up, our observation is that the Busummuru “three-legged animal” has no place for God, the knowledge of Him, and His ultimate sovereign and supreme power over creation. It does not make any provision for God and His Will, Human Depravity, and Divine Curse and Ultimate Control and thus, the knowledge and honor of God. The weakness of the system, as I see it, is the rejection of God and the lack of knowledge of the truth and reality of the African Story. 

INTRODUCTION 

The reason for this weakness in the proposition is the lack of knowledge of the Word of God. 

Accordingly, the LORD has asked me to bring our minds back to the Word of God.  We know the nature, power, prescription, and promise of the Word of God. Psalm 29 presents a good account of the Nature, Power, Majesty, and Glory of the Word of God. 

The Psalm opens with:  

“Give unto the LORD O Ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.” And it ends by asserting the truth that: 

 “The LORD will give strength …. unto His PEOPLE; The LORD will bless His people with peace.” 

That is to say, strength for human endeavor and peace in Human Affairs are all from God. The Lord’s word to me and for as is that we should repose in the Word of God for 

• Life 

• Works, our Works 

• The Works of God. 

Verse 2 of Psalm 29 gives a key to Life and works: – 

• Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His Name. 

• Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 

In doing this pay attention, to believe in, set your faith on and put in Action, the Word of God. 

If you study Psalm 29, we will come across the Power of God’s Voice—the Word of God—and the various realms of life and human existence in which the Voice of God holds the key thereof. There is no realm of human activity and human existence that the Voice of God does not provide insight, understanding, and power. The Word of God is the power of salvation to all who believe. That is to say, the Word of God is the power base and mystery behind Salvation. Yea, saith the Spirit of the LORD in verse 10: 

• The LORD sitteth upon the flood  

–   What invasion 

–   What difficulties/ challenges 

• Yea the LORD sitteth as King for Ever. What and who can overthrow or change the course of your life and endeavors if you put your trust in the Word of God. God sits as King for Ever.  He is unassailable.  You are secure who believes, builds faith in, lives and works upon the Voice (WORD) of God. 

The Bible says therefore: 

• Study to show yourself approved 

• Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16) 

• Live and work by and through the Voice of God.  

THE VOICE OF GOD IS SPIRIT (John 6:63) 

It has in-built Spirit-Power for performance. It shall never return void—Isaiah 55:11. Hear the Prophet. 

CONCLUSION  

Believe the Word of God. Build your faith in the Voice of God. Remember the Voice of God is Spirit, therefore, even the written word must be approached in spiritual light and understanding. The just shall live by Faith, which cometh by and is built upon the Word of God. 

Listen to the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 55:1 – 3, 6 – 11). The Promise of God, verses   12 – 13.  stand, receive, take, and possess the Word of God. Let your soul go to, receive, flourish, and prosper in the Word of God. In your life, for your works, whatever, and above all for the Works of God, remember, repose in and move in trust with the Word of God.  

Busummuru Kofi Annan has three-legged proposition for Africa Renaissance. The Peace, Development, and Human Rights he proposed must be sought for, interpreted. and applied in the Knowledge of God based upon the Word of God. 

Faith in the Voice of God is the key to life, works, and performance. Through the Voice of God, the LORD will give strength and establish in peace.
