WOYOME, THE NATION, PEOPLE AND GOD OF GHANA

Series:

THEME: STEWARDSHIP, SYSTEMIC TRIAL, AND DIVINE RECOMPENSE

Peace be unto the people of Ghana—present and future generations. Amen!

In creating us, God endows us with talents, opens doors, and grants opportunities in society for the worship and service of our fellow men, nation, people, creation, and the world. People, societies, and nations reward honorable, loyal, and faithful people who serve their people, their generation, and their age in knowledgeable, skillful, capable and excellent ways, giving good account of themselves and society in bringing peace, progress, prosperity, happiness, joy, and hope with their endeavors. Indeed, nations and people rejoice over the noble ventures and gestures of such noble citizens, gems, and assets to their lands.

Similarly, and most importantly, God the Creator—who has endowed us with talents that open doors and opportunities for service in our day, generation, and age also rewards us with promotion in high regard and goodwill, responsibility, and trust for higher service, and still higher reward.  With this in mind, it is very sad that in these times of difficulties and stress, strenuous efforts to marshal the national assets of gifted, noble, and worthy citizens needed for development and progress—can be drawn into debacle, negative, obstructive, and destructive conduct by politicians and business folks, lawyers, and public service technocrats in a nation such as Ghana.

The Woyome Judgement Debt debacle is not only drawing the country into rising losses in time, money, and goodwill. It is also stirring smoldering political fracas into fire and chaos. As if this is not enough, the justice system, politics and governance in the country are all under systematic trial in the Woyome Judgement Debt saga.

To be sure, it is to the credit to Ghana that ‘Woyomegate’ surfaced. That is a sign of political advancement and deepening of good and responsible governance.  For there is no disputation that leadership and management, politics, and governance constitute Great Drain and Pain— an obstructionist and destructive phenomenon in development in Africa. This is due to obstinate, defiant, reckless, ruthless, and wicked ways in the abuse of power, opportunity, and trust in leadership, management, politics, and governance on the continent. The many coups, wars, and bloodshed, suffering, pain, backwardness, poverty, and the perpetuation of evil, wickedness, and robbery are clear evidence of leadership confusion and weak governance in Africa.  Leaders from the Abusuapanyin through Odikro to Paramount Chiefs; from Teachers to Headmasters and Bursars through Principals, Proprietors, and Managers; from DCEs and Party Chairman through Regional Ministers, Parliamentarians, and Members of Council of State to Cabinet Ministers, Prime Ministers, Vice-President, President, and Head of State—all over Africa have, on the whole, taken public office and trust  as a ‘door to haven.’ Indeed, legal instruments may even be devised to promote, project, applaud, and reward robbery, theft, and abuse of power. We do not need to give examples in such a plain and common matter.

People of Ghana, the Law, Conscience, and Governance may fail the nation, but God the Creator will not fail. He will reward all with a just recompense, no matter what!!  Ghana may weep for a while—even for a decade or decades—but God will not fail Himself, the nation, and humanity.  Judgement awaits all at the Holy and Everlasting Court of God, the righteous and faithful Judge. Without any presumption or prejudice to the court proceedings, we are hopeful that Mr. Woyome and the Government of the day will endeavor to save the nation prolonged litigation, rising costs, and loss and the negative influence and repercussions of the matter. At the end of the day, it is Ghana that suffers.

We trust that Mr. Woyome—as a Christian philanthropist and a loyal citizen as he is with much contribution and stake in the development and progress of “mother” Ghana, the welfare, and well-being of her peoples and national glory as a whole—must desist from taxing the country with grief and financial loss in an abrogated contract. After all, it is not the offending public officials, politicians, and even government who have borne and will bear the consequences of the judgement debt; it is our beloved Ghana that will pay and bear all incidental expenses, including the legal battles.  Lawyers may get their cheques, and political lackeys and people of “goodwill” may receive some compensation or suffer pain. But in the end, it is Ghana and God that will face the brunt. It is inevitable both will seek redress in the end!!

JUDGEMENT AWAITS ALL THE WORKS OF MEN, GOOD or EVIL!!

May Truth, Honesty, and Loyalty to Ghana and Faithfulness to God and country prevail.  Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

GOD SAVE GHANA!

GOD BLESS GHANA!
