SYNOPSIS
This outline details how the Holy Spirit endues believers with power to transform lives, re order society, and establish Christ’s Kingdom.

PREAMBLE
Greetings
Thanks be to God for the 1985 National Holy Spirit Conference. Blessings and Honour
and Glory be unto God.
Special praise and honour to the Holy Spirit who has been our special Guest of Honour
and the Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the coming of the Holy
Spirit. The church is Christ and you i.e. Christ and the body.
The theme of the conference is the HOLY SPIRIT IN ACTION. The Holy Spirit in action can
be defined in three terms:
• The Holy Spirit in Action in the lives of the saint to fulfill God’s purpose in the life
of every believer in the church.
• Her mission in the family and the word to teach, edify, exhort and comfort
members.
• To equip, unite for mission
• The Holy Spirit and the church in the world
• To re-order, re-organise human society account to the will of God as revealed in
the scriptures.
• To establish the Kingdom of God, bringing men, spirits, and natures under the
leadership of Christ and God the Father.
Essentially, the Holy Spirit has come for the fulfillment of Divine Purposes in the lives of
the individual, the individual believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and in human society as a
whole……i.e. to say to establish the Lordship of Christ in individual lives and Kingdom of
God in society for the individual believer, saved from sin, death and Satan…….He has
come to transform His light to conform to the perfect image of Christ to equip him for
ministering in the church and the world.
The main trend of the seminars during the conferences has been to consider the role of
the Holy Spirit in the mission of the church. We have been considering leadership or the
ministerial gifts of the church i.e. nature, position and role of the men chosen by Christ
Jesus to be His special or direct representatives or ministers in the Body and world as a
whole. The office of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher had been
under close examination.
The discussion have been profitable and beneficial to us as individuals, as men called
of God in preparations for or already in the ministerial offices or hole other positions in
the church and also for the churches or congregation as a whole.
We want to thank the Holy Spirit for honouring us in allowing us to consider Him and His
ministry in our lives in the church and in the world and also in His faithful direction of
the Seminars and entire proceedings of the conferences.
Tomorrow, we shall have a joint service here to celebrate the presence of the Holy Spirit,
unity in the body and blessings during the conferences and to break bread for the
resurrection power and in honour of Christ and redemptive work. Tonight, our purpose
here is to renew our love and dedication to the Holy Spirit who has come to endue us
with power as individuals and as a Body to witness Christ. The scripture says in Acts 1:8
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit come upon you; and you shall be
witness of Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”
POWER
Power in the transformation of lives for the surrender and control of our will, faculties,
members, emotions, body soul and spirit under Christ. Power for the ministry. Power to
the church as a whole and our congregation and ministers in particular.
Power…. Re: The Pouring out of Divine Graces of Love and Gifts of the Spirit upon us.
Power to build the Kingdom of God – the sharpening of our weapons, war and the move
of God.
