YOU MUST KNOW THE VOICE OF GOD
SERMON INSIGHTS
The Supremacy and Power of the Divine Voice
Central Spiritual Truth: The voice of God is an omnipotent force that transcends all natural laws and worldly influences.
- “The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty”.
- The divine voice is described as being “above them all,” acting as “thunder” and being “more than fire” to break down obstacles.
- It is a transformative force that “divideth the flames of fire” and “shaketh the wilderness”.
- Believers must not take their ideas from newspapers or the streets but must live according to what God is telling them.
- The voice of God is superior to the “laws of nature,” and while nature is to be respected, the Creator must be worshipped above the creation.
The Sun as a Guide and the Greater Light of Christ
Central Spiritual Truth: While the sun governs physical time and order, the Light of Christ is a superior spiritual authority that indwells the believer.
- The sun rules the light, seasons, and tides, and it is baseless not to obey the natural order it provides for work and rest.
- However, “the voice of God is higher than the sun,” and the one who set the sun in place is far greater than the celestial body itself.
- In Genesis, God commanded, “Let there be light,” creating a light that was His own self-revelation before the sun even existed.
- Christ is the true light in the believer, and this light “outshines the sun” and “all light,” being visible to all men simultaneously.
- When a child of God walks in this light, they can “shine in darkness” and speak with a wisdom and authority that darkness cannot understand.
The Transformation of the Inner Spirit Man
Central Spiritual Truth: Spiritual growth and eternal life are achieved not through physical sustenance, but through the “spirit and life” found in the Word of God.
- The real man is the spirit inside the “container” of the body; while the body is dust, the spirit does not eat physical food.
- Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; one must be born again to enter.
- Spiritual growth is not fueled by “fufu or rice,” but by the Word of God, which allows the “real nature” to grow into a higher being.
- “The word of God is life” and “power,” acting as a contact point with the Spirit of God to change a person from the inside out.
- The Word is “more to be desired than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb”.
Dominion and Authority in the Spirit Realm
Central Spiritual Truth: Through the Holy Spirit and the Word, the believer regains dominion over the earth and spiritual enemies.
- Believers are promoted from “believer” to “disciple” and finally to “friend,” sharing in all that the Father has given Christ.
- If Christ is Spirit and God, the believer is a “spirit” and a “little God” in Him.
- The serpent is a “thief and a robber,” but the believer can speak to him with the “mantle of Christ,” and the enemy must obey the Creator’s voice.
- The baptism of the Holy Spirit provides the “language of heaven,” allowing a believer to speak “spirit language” rather than human mind-based ideas.
- In moments of spiritual confrontation, a believer can change “in the twinkle of an eye” to meet spiritual powers as a spirit.
Exhortations and Calls to Action
Central Spiritual Truth: Active engagement with the Scriptures and prayer is the only path to peace and spiritual strength.
- Exhortation to Study: “When you go to church, take a piece of paper, write, then when you go home read it and you pray”.
- Call to Obedience: “You must know your father. You must do the things that please your father”.
- Prayer for Revelation: “Ask God to open your mind and your spirit. You’ll be a new creation in Christ”.
- Call to Forsake the World: Do not “take things from Satan” or “do the things of the world” while claiming to be a child of God.
- A Final Blessing of Strength: “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace”
