RECEIVE THE SPIRIT OF RESSURECTION

Series:

SERMON INSIGHTS

The Divine Exchange: Christ’s Triumph Over Human Tragedy

Central Spiritual Truth: Jesus Christ took the full package of human fallen nature into the grave and left it there to provide complete redemption and freedom for the believer.

  • The Nature of Christ: Christ is a divine spirit who put on human flesh to usher man into the divine nature and glory.
  • The Substitutionary Sacrifice: On the cross, He took upon Himself our sins, condemnations, curses, diseases, and the fury of the devil.
  • The Grave Package: Christ saw all future human wickedness and depravity—including murder and immorality—and took these deeds into the grave in advance.
  • Dominion over Death: When He rose, He stripped the spirits of death and Satan of their power and keys of dominion.
  • The Scripture of Freedom: “He that the Son shall set free, shall be free indeed”.

The Necessity of Spiritual Assembly and Faith

Central Spiritual Truth: Constant fellowship and the preaching of the Cross are the mechanisms God uses to confirm faith and prevent spiritual suicide.

The Call of the Father: No one comes to Jesus unless the Father calls them and directs a preacher to reach them.

  • The Foolishness of the Cross: To the worldly, including university professors and followers of other religions, the idea of a man dying on a tree 2,000 years ago for others is foolishness, but to the believer, it is life.
  • The Danger of Suicidal Isolation: Stopping church attendance is described as a slow suicide where the soul dies gradually and the heart is taken away.
  • Assurance through Assembly: The gathering of believers provides a “prompting way” through songs, testimonies, and the movement of the Spirit to confirm faith.
  • The “prompting way” refers to the spiritual mechanisms present within the gathering of believers that confirm and sustain faith. It is a divine system of encouragement used to prevent the “slow suicide” of the soul that occurs when a person stops attending church. The “prompting way” consists of the following elements:
  • The Assembly of Believers: The act of coming together in fellowship creates an environment where faith is reinforced.
  • Songs and Testimonies: Hearing the spiritual experiences and praises of others serves as a prompt to the heart.
  • Movement of the Spirit: The Holy Spirit uses the atmosphere of the gathering to move upon individuals, providing the necessary spiritual momentum to keep believing.
  • The Preaching of the Cross: The continuous hearing of the Gospel is the specific “prompting way” God uses to ensure a believer does not lose their heart or faith.
  • Warning to the Backslidden: It is noted that those who have previously prophesied or spoken in tongues but turned away find it very difficult to believe again.

The Three-Fold Power System of the Believer

Central Spiritual Truth: God has provided three specific spiritual solutions. The Word, the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of Resurrection to overcome the decay and inevitabilities of the flesh.

  • The Corruptible Flesh: While the spirit may be strong, the body is molded from dust and is subject to weakness, decay, and passion.
  • The Power of the Word: The first solution is the Word of God, which is described as an “incorruptible seed” that is power, life, and spirit.
  • The Baptism of the Holy Spirit: The second power source is the Holy Spirit, which energizes the believer to do what is humanly impossible.
  • The Spirit of Resurrection: The third and distinct power is the Spirit of Resurrection that quickens the mortal body to overcome death.
  • The Spiritual Mechanism: Prayer is a spiritual mechanism, like a blacksmith’s bellows, that combines the Word and the Holy Spirit to “puff up” the fire of God within.

The Practical Reality of Resurrection Power

Central Spiritual Truth: The Spirit of Resurrection is a transmissible divine gift that quickens the physical body and provides a “reverse gear” of power in times of extreme weakness.

  • Transmitting the Spirit: Bro Enoch asserts that he cannot just read scripture but must give the Spirit of Resurrection out of himself to the people.
  • The Quickeninng of the Body: Bro Enoch illustrates this power by his own ability to shake off extreme tiredness and be quickened for preaching in the “twinkling of an eye”.
  • The Reserve Power: Using a vehicle analogy, Bro Enoch explains that when first, second, and third speeds fail, the “reverse speed” in Christ is higher and can climb any hill.
  • Victory over Enemies: Just as Samson’s power returned with his hair, this spirit allows believers to turn their enemies around and destroy their works.
  • The Testimony of the Stone: When Jesus rose, the stones themselves had to “give way,” signifying that every enemy obstacle in the believer’s life must move.

The Communion and Final Consecration

Central Spiritual Truth: Partaking in the Body and Blood of Christ through Communion is a physical transmission of the Spirit of Resurrection.

  • The Elements of Life: The bread and blood are dedicated to transmit the Spirit of Resurrection so that bodies are energized and minds are quickened.
  • Eternal Connection: This act is intended to create an eternal bond with Christ so there is no desire for anything outside of Him.
  • Hope in Physical Infirmity: Even if a person is affected by stroke, loss of tongue, or loss of feet, the Spirit of Resurrection is present to quicken them.
  • A Warning Against Blasphemy: Bro Enoch warns against the “spirit of capitalism” and blasphemy in the church where the name of Jesus is used only to make money.
  • The Requirement of Purity: Before entering this realm of power, the believer must commit to the Lord for purification, as “flesh and blood cannot enter”.

Scripture References (KJV):

  • “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26).
  • “Oh grave, where is thy glory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
  • “It is finished.” (John 19:30).
  • “Father forgive them for they don’t know what they do.” (Luke 23:34).

AMEN.
