THE STAR OF AFRICA: A DIVINE VERDICT ON THE GHANA WORLD CUP FIESTA

Series:

THEME: THE SOVEREIGNTY OF THE CREATOR OVER NATIONAL GLORY

Blessed be the Most High God, who has chosen and proven that He is the God, Joy, Hope, and Glory of our country, Ghana. May Ghana prosper in His arms! Hallelujah!

In this brief article, we declare first that God the Creator—the sovereign King, the reigning and ruling Spirit over Ghana—has established His Throne in our country. He holds the destiny of Ghana in His hands; He is working and will work to make Himself known and glorified as the God of Ghana. Ghana—Beulah, Royal Diadem, Star of Africa—is the vision of glory.

Second, we declare that some Ghanaians were responsible for the non-advancement of Ghana beyond the Group 16 at FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany and the Quarter-final at FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

In this connection, may the God-loving and praying people of Ghana take note and rest assured: that it is not God who has failed or refused to heed the prayers and good wishes of millions round the globe for Ghana at FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The truth is that some Ghanaians, mostly in government circles have been the cause of the abrupt and dramatic stoppage of Ghana’s advancement at both the 2006 and 2010 tournaments.

The good news, nevertheless, is that God is on His throne in His chosen nation of Ghana. His enemies will be scattered, and Ghana will conquer the world and win the World Cup for the praise and glory of God in due time.

Now, for the story.

God has elected, chosen, redeemed, ordered, and established Ghana as Star Nation for His Kingdom Glory in Africa and the whole world. Israel, Europe, and America had had their days; the Star, Light, and Glory of God the Creator is now resting firmly and squarely upon Ghana. (1st Cor. 14: 37-38). Thus, has it come to pass that Ghana’s shinning glory has become a mystery and a subject of much discussion, debate, and wonder around the globe. Meetings of diverse kinds are being held everywhere about Ghana. What a shame we cannot work together in unity as one people in one nation. Our God Reigns! Glory be to His name!!!

The truth is that Ghana has been delivered from satanic dominion and control, from idolatry, and from the powers of blood-drinking spirits and so-called gods/deities. Ghana is now reconciled with God, and there is peace with God. She has been redeemed from human disobedience, wickedness, and the rejection of God and the knowledge of Him—His Laws, Light, and Way, and His reign and rule in the affairs of men— which prevails in many nations.

Wars have ceased in Ghana because God is always diffusing the works and plans of wicked men and women in the land. These are the main reasons for the state of peace in the land. Ghana is now married and made HOLY UNTO GOD, and given a new name, Beulah and The New Jerusalem. This means the builder, keeper, and ruler of Ghana is the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth and Father of Jesus Christ.

Many people do not see it; they do not understand the emergence of The New Ghana. The governments of Ghana and many politicians and academics of the land do not accept this— indeed, they do not want it. Some politicians and their ‘lords,’ both inside and outside the country, want to take charge and order the affairs of the land according to their agenda, knowledge, and understanding, and for their pleasure and glory.

Even some ministers and leaders of the church of God in the land do not seem to have knowledge of it. It appears some even doubt and rejects not only the possibility but also the reality of God’s reign and rule of nations. So, they join politicians and encourage governments in the rejection of God, the knowledge and honour of Him in the affairs of the land, and His agenda for the country.

It is for this reason that some Ghanaians—for reasons best known to themselves either reject the praise, honor, and glory due God in the affairs of nation or would want to divert and claim honor for Ghana’s story and her glory for themselves and their friends.

There are enemies of Ghana—specifically the Ghana of Divine Choice, Heritage, and Glory. Their activities abound in diverse ways and many areas of national affairs. For example, during 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany tournament, the Most High God had destined Ghana for the semi-final; the Lord told His servant this before the tournament began.

Unfortunately, when Ghana was advancing and got to the Group of 16 stage, a Minister of State of the then Kufuor Administration organised a celebration ceremony at the Independence Square. It was reported that the special guests and key players at the ceremony were fetish priests. This provoked the fury of the Most High God, resulting in the halting of the advancement of the national team.

I was in Dallas, Texas, USA at the time. On the morning of the match with Brazil at the Group 16 stage, a Christian brother in Gaborone, Botswana, called me to inquire about my views on Ghana’s progress. Before I could say anything, I was seized with convulsions of weeping and tears of a very heavy nature. I felt sad. Surely, something terrible must have happened. The Spirit of God wept because of the event. Ghana lost the match and was knocked out from the race.

Again, concerning the 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa tournament, the Lord told His servant in advance that this time Ghana would stop at the Quarter-final stage. That, this would happen not with the government of the land, and in any case, because He was displeased with the government. He would not allow the Mills Administration, or anyone else, to take the glory for Ghana’s advancement.

It is He who has chosen, blessed, and is shepherding the country’s affairs—her progress and glory—not man, not any spirit nor power, certainly not the Mills Administration. He would not allow the government to claim and take the glory for what He, the Most High, was doing.

I shared this with the leadership of our church and many ministers, including Nigerian and American Ministers who sought for my views on Ghana’s chances, particularly before the quarterfinal. Ghana had become the toast of Africa and the world. She has won many admirers and friends. In fact, some African Americans were excited that Ghana beat the USA at the tournament.

Let me mention here that I was seized with the euphoria of Ghana’s standing as “Star of Africa.” I even prayed for Divine mercy so Ghana can advance to the semi-final so to make history. But the Lord called me in the night, reminded me of His words, and told me He was not going to change His word and position on the matter.

On the day of the Ghana-Uruguay match, I was in Pasadena, California, USA. I told those who called me during the day—including a Nigerian Pastor who called from Dallas, Texas—that Ghana will fall at the Quarterfinal. How sad he felt!! And what a dramatic end! What a miss with the penalty kick; poor Asamoah Gyan. The whole of Africa was standing with and praying for Ghana, but the Lord had different plans. He told His servant subsequently that Ghana would conquer the world, but not in Africa. It will have to be in a world cup tournament outside Africa. The God of Ghana reigns!!!

There is no debate for any who are spiritual and understand Divine reign and rule in affairs of men: THAT GOD’S HAND IS ON OUR COUNTRY. No knowledgeable, informed worshipper of God, true, honest, and faithful can deny the Hand of God upon the nation and the special works and place of Jesus Christ for, with, and on behalf of Ghana.

We plead with the people and governments of Ghana to take note of this. Let us acknowledge and honour God’s election, redemption, and establishment of our nation as God’s chosen nation and people—Beulah Land.  This primarily is the basis of Ghana’s standing as “Star of Africa.”

Let us reiterate what we have stated many times before: The Ghana of to-day is not the Ghana of the old Ghana empire, nor the Ghana of Danquah- Nkrumah. It is not the Ghana of Kotoka-Afrifa, nor that of Acheampong-Rawlings. Again, Ghana is not Ghana of “God, Jesus Christ and Nkrumah.” The Creator will share His glory with no one. And of His Kingdom there shall be no end. Amen and Amen!!!

O, that the enemies of God, Christ, and Ghana will know this!!! O, that the people of Ghana will know, worship, and honour the Creator—Father of Jesus Christ alone—as God of the land. O, that the Church will truly and faithfully worship and serve God and Ghana, not money, power, and fame. The Most High God is the God, King, and Father of The New Ghana. He is the Redeemer and Builder of the nation.  Let us acknowledge this, worship, and give praise and glory to Him. Hallelujah! Amen!! (Ps. 127: 1; 33: 12)
