THE MYSTERY OF ABOMINATION (PART 1)

Series:

THEME: THE SOUL FOR SALE: EXPOSING THE OCCULT QUEST FOR POWER

Adam and Eve tempted God, responding to the deception of the serpent with childlike glee. Today, mankind is beset by the unabating tragedy of sin and death—a life condemned to lost glory and dominated by darkness, evil, wickedness, robbery, theft, destruction, and hopelessness. Human history is strewn with man’s inhumanity to man:  peoples and nations subject and dominate one another. For centuries, violence, wars, and rumors of wars have been the order of the day. Thus, we have a world without hope, under the control of Satan the devil.

Many who desire power to control their neighbors sign deals with Satan for a “piece of the pie,” entering into diverse pacts with Satan for that very purpose.

This is the root cause of the Mystery of Abomination. There are sweet, savory, and compelling propositions that, when swallowed, lead not unto the promised state of peace, joy, and happiness, life, liberty and glory but rather to death, mourning, sorrows, and woes. As the Scripture says:  There is a way that seemeth right to man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 16:25). In Twi, we say, “Owuo sei fie” (Death destroys the home).

Man is not—and never will be capable tracing his steps to reclaim the “spent force” of the treasures, beauty, and glory thrown down the drain. Life force wasted can never be regained by human effort. While sin may be forgiven and the door of peace, joy, and happiness opened, yet, the seed of sin, the “law of sin and death” often prevails to frustrate and keep the soul condemnation and misery. No spirit nor power can pull down the curtain of the mystery of abomination; only the mercy of God grants relief and hope.

It is true in this connection that, the blood of Jesus Christ atones for sin and that the door of life and liberty, and Divine grace is open through Christ. However, Jesus Himself said that unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the Divine nature and Heavenly Kingdom realm wherein is authority and power, eternal peace and life, joy everlasting, and glory. Yes, salvation in Christ goes beyond the remission of sin.

Sadly, people today are obsessed with power, comfort, and possessions, giving no thought to their souls or to heaven. They rush to fetish houses, shrines, forests, mountains, rivers, and the deep sea for charms, amulets, and power deals with spirits. Some join cults for the security and power to rob, seize wealth, and control nations. Others gather at the feet of so-called prophets and so-called churches, and “prayer camps” solely for food, shelter, clothing, and power to have dominion over their neighbors, life situations and the environment. They care not nor do they consider the power base of such people and places, their standing with God and eternal life for their souls. Their goal is power, position, money, and joy on earth.

As the eagles and vultures gather for carcasses. These seekers gather for temporary gains.  But Jesus asked: “what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world and lose his soul? (Mark 8:36)

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). “Rest to your souls, not wealth for jots.”

Thus, in many places today, whether fetish shrines or church gatherings, whether private clubs, cults or secret society meets, whether business deals or international and global confabs, the sole objective is money, treasure and wealth, power, position, and possessions. People are prepared to trade their souls, life, dignity, honor, and glory for temporal gains. The mystery of abomination!

It is with this background, that the merciful God, presents a line of escape:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3: 16)

Whoever desires life must die to self and take up the cross, separating them from the life of abomination in the world. (Mathew16:24-26; 1st John 2:15-17). Many in the Church neither know nor care about eternal life, righteousness, and holy separation, from the world. Nevertheless, the truth is that all outside the Spirit of Salvation, Redemption, Resurrection, and Restoration in Christ Jesus cannot enter the heavenly door of eternal peace, life, joy, and glory. The world and its treasures, wealth, and joys are passing away. The grave is the seal of the human story. Men yearn for power and position but blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus came not only to forgive sin, raise from death but also to open the heavenly door of Divine nature, grace, eternal life, and glory of the True and Living God to man. Christ is the Spirit of Life, Light, Resurrection, and Glory for fallen man. This alone is the door of escape from the life of abomination. Knowing this truth, that is knowing about who and what He is, and what He offers, Jesus humbly but boldly declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14: 6).  No man can find God, regain the original Divine spirit nature and glory lost, the eternal life and peace of God except through Jesus Christ.

Now, the sad story of the mystery of abomination is that Satan the devil and self-centered disobedient man would not let go of Satanic or human ego. In his efforts to retain the ego, self-confidence and vain human glory, man either continues to swim in the deceptive waters of Satan the devil or formulate his own redemption plans. These abound in religion, philosophy, psychology, and so-called science. There are a gamut of human ideas and theories of life and glory. Most of these theories are based on gleanings from nature. They are from the study of natural law and natural forces. But such are not divine and are in any case corruptible and futile.

That is to say, Adam-Eve is still engaged in fig leaves covering in the human enterprise with religion, philosophies, ideas, and theories on life. The animal skin, blood, and power in religion of diverse kinds and diverse sources, all fall short of the eternal life and glory in the Blood and Divine Spirit of Jesus Christ. Christ is the Word, Light and Life of God made flesh. The Son given is the Divine Spirit nature released for the re-creation, deliverance and sustenance of man. (John 1: 1-8) It is free and available to whosoever will believe, accept and receive life.
