THEME: DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY VS. POLITICAL LEGACIES 

Parts I and II of this piece provided knowledge and understanding regarding God’s choice, intervention, redemption, restoration, and establishment of Ghana as Chosen Nation and People—the New Jerusalem and Star of Africa.  (Parts I & II published in The Ghanaian Observer of August 8th and 10th 2011 respectively).  

The reality of Ghana as New Jerusalem—a city of the peace, beauty and glory of God is this “the New Ghana” of and after God, is not a nation built with human hands, nor a nation delivered and brought into being and established by human knowledge, power, wisdom, works and way. The Ghana of today is not a people redeemed by war or political party machinery, nor is it built and established under any philosophical, ideological, or revolutionary regime. Ghana is not borne out of agreement and contract, calculated amalgamation of tribes and peoples into a unit or otherwise. The colonial merger of tribes and peoples named Gold Coast under the British crown is not the basis as such of the New Ghana.    

For example, the New Ghana is not after the Danquah-Busia Spirit, philosophy, and political action. Neither is it the Ghana of Nkrumah-CPP, Nkrumaist-Scientific-Socialist construct and political kingdom order. Ghana is not the product of military interventionist construct, nor is it of Rawlings’ revolution. Ghana has been delivered, set free, and redeemed from the Satan-man spiritual and social, political and kingdom order by Divine Hand.  Danquah, Nkrumah, Busia, Afrifa, and Acheampong are dead. Rawlings have been rendered impotent. There is no way for resurrection and reconstruction of Ghana by any of the above nor any Satan-man alliance system and kingdom order. 

God wants to prove Himself and show forth His marvelous light, blessedness, kingdom glory in and with Ghana and through Ghana to the rest of Africa and the world. He is proud and jealous about what He has done, what He is doing, and will do in, with and for Ghana.  Soon the whole story will unfold, and Divine Glory will clearly manifest. It is here that the Lord would have His servant call Church and Government, Nation and People’s attention to the dark, evil, and wicked works of men, spirits, and powers in the country. 

In Ezekiel chapter 8 of the Christian Bible, the Spirit of the Lord reveals the dark, evil, and wicked works of men and women in Israel (nations). The Most High God has described the said wicked works as abominations. 

The scripture reveals abominations in churches/fetish shrines, where women cry out, weeping before gods/goddesses of fertility and power for life, success, and riches. In Ghana, there are many prayer-camps, fetish shrines, and gatherings specializing in fertility and barrenness, marriage, and emotional upsets. Interesting things happen at these places, the seashore and forests in the dark of the night as well as in broad daylight in churches operating with familiar spirits, demonic operations, satanic-cum-demonic powers. There are many so-called prophets/seers standing in holy places yet engaged in abominations. 

Similarly, there are men so-called apostles and prophets, priests, bishops, elders, and congregations engaged in occultic and spiritist practices. There are “nobles and greats” in secret societies, cults and the worship of sun/moon/elemental spirits, and natural forces in “high places” in the nation.  The occult, cults, and Eastern religions are gaining entrance in schools, colleges, and universities, among professional classes, teachers, and educational authorities. 

In the nation—particularly within the political realm and national affairs in general— politicians and so-called prophets and priests, chiefs, and elders are deeply steeped in witchcraft and sorcery, the invocation of spirits and powers in the forests, in mountains, hills, and stones, in rivers, lagoons, and seas to gain power and control over fellow human beings, families, tribes and nation. 

It is these old, wicked ways that bred division, strife, violence, blood, wickedness, and war —provoking the wrath and judgement of God upon Africa in the past and up to-date (Isaiah 19: 1-16). Our leaders want to perpetuate these old ways in the country in the name of tradition, custom, and culture. That is why Africa needs to be cautious about the call for “renaissance.” 

This notwithstanding, it is true that God has done a new thing.  He has delivered Ghana from these old forces of darkness and death, idolatry, sorcery, and witchcraft, blood, and diverse sacrifices to spirits and powers, gods and goddesses, dwarfs, mermaids, and deities, fallen angels, and wicked men and women all of who want to be treated as God and worshipped. 

May we mention in this connection what the Lord told His servant during the course of the battles for the deliverance and redemption of Ghana from Satan and wicked man, spirits, and powers of darkness, and the culture of darkness, and the culture of darkness, death and Divine curse from Idolatry, wickedness, and blood and the controlling influence of war gods, coup making powers, ‘Leviathan and the dragon’ in the sea. Ghana cannot return to the old forces and works that led to the fall of the old Ghana empire. The change of name from Gold Coast to Ghana should not and must not make Ghana return to the old Ghana Empire spiritual and social order after Satan and the Satan-man governance, and kingdom arrangements. 

There is now a New Church, a New People and a New Nation after Jesus Christ the Reconciler, Saviour, Redeemer, and Messiah for and on behalf of God Almighty. The Almighty God, Father is jealous over the New Ghana.  Says He, “My Son, I will wipe them all out.”  This is the revelation, word of caution, and as well as assurance of hope to the nation.
