I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
THEME: CHRIST’S KINGDOM GOVERNANCE VS. HUMAN POLITICAL IDOLATRY
Enoch Agbozo, a servant of Jesus Christ called an Apostle-Prophet, separated unto the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls, the redemption of creation, and the reconciliation of the world, paving the way for Peace on earth and Goodwill towards Men and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth so peace, righteousness, justice, joy, and everlasting life shall flourish and prosper on earth.
The Divine vision is a state of everlasting life and light, peace, liberty, and joy on earth. It envisages a new risen glory of man and creation delivered, set free, and redeemed from condemnation and captivity to sin, death, and Satan of darkness and death, oppression, and wars due to Satan-man wickedness and oppression, in short Satan-man alliance and kingdom order.
The Gospel of Christ has the ultimate goal of creating a New Heaven and a New Earth, with its consequent new spiritual and social order hinged upon the Spirit, power, works and governance of Jesus Christ. For this cause, the Father had bequeathed and bestowed all authority and power and crowned Him—Jesus Christ—as King of kings and Lord of lords, with dominion not only over this world but also that which is to come (Eph. 1: 20-23).
Essentially, the glorious New Heaven and New Earth shall be the direct outcome of the Spirit, power, life, works and eternal standing of Jesus Christ, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace. First, Christ is the Spirit-Power of life, light, reconciliation, and resurrection—the source of salvation, deliverance, redemption, and restoration for fallen man and captive creation. Second, He is the King and Lord of the Heavenly Kingdom order, established in the heavenlies and on earth. Third, He is the Governor and Judge of the nations. Christ is the Divine Spirit of creation, salvation, redemption, restoration, and hope for peace and goodwill on earth. Christ Jesus is the Spirit of righteousness and Prince of peace for peoples and nations.
The above stated vision of a new man, a new life, a new heaven and a new earth— the “Heavenly Kingdom on earth”— is the essence, beauty, and glory of the Christian Faith. It is this vision that has been committed to the Church. This is what is envisaged with The Great Commission.
Simply put, the vision and mission of the Church is Christ Exalted in Glory on earth, so His victory over sin, Satan, and death and His Spirit-Power and works for the creation of the “New Man” and with “New Life,” the establishment and governance of the Kingdom of God on earth shall spread throughout the nations ending with a New Heaven and a New Earth. This “New Thing” is not a mere theory; it is destined to become both a spiritual and social reality for all nations and all peoples.
It is this deep conviction, persuasion, and knowledge about the power, joy, beauty, and glorious end of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that has emboldened us towards the declaration of the Word of God, Plans and works of Jesus Christ about our country Ghana chosen of the Lord. The truth is that Ghana has been redeemed and declared Beulah Land, The New Jerusalem by the Most High God.
In this connection, we deem it proper and appropriate to bring to the information, knowledge, and understanding of the government, church, and people of Ghana that there are two strong forces that have stood and are standing against God and His plans and works, and His heavenly ordained and destined glory of Ghana as His nation and people. Hence, the title of this article, I AM NOT ASHAMED Of THE GOSPEL Of CHRIST.
As the Bible declares,
“For it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also for the Greeks. For in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.” (Rom. chap. 1: 16-18)
In politics, men want to be God and King. In religion, spirits and men want to establish themselves as gods; they postulate creed and practice by their delight, understanding, and expectations. In philosophy and science, there has developed an attempt to dislodge God the Creator from honor and glory. Men devise their own human redemption and social theories and practice according to their perception, “discoveries,” and expectations. By the nature of human imperfection and ignorance, the weakness of the human soul-spirit, lack of full comprehension both of himself and creation, the theories of men keep changing, always and never reaching finality and truth.
In the scripture quoted, we are told that the Word of God offers salvation and hope to both the Religious Jews and the Philosophical-Learned-Political Greeks. The truth is that both religion and politics are concerned with the search for power and influence. Both are open to deception and the lure of Satan and passion. Both can be hired and bribed by Spirits and Mammon, Money. That can easily make and does in fact make them— enemies of God. In the end, they tend to hate authority, power, and influence higher than themselves.
The Bible teaches that both Satan and Man wanted to be God; hence, they were cast out. Their desire and enmity against God have not ceased with the ages. Accordingly, politics and religion have become human devices used against God and the true destiny of man, and thus against nations and peoples. Let us demonstrate this phenomenon with a brief analysis of a development in our nation: the attempt to resurrect and deify Kwame Nkrumah and turn Ghana into the land purchased, possessed, and established by and under the dominion of Kwame Nkrumah, as “Osagyefo,”— the redeemer, founder, father, and God of the Osagyefo Political Kingdom of Ghana.
The protagonists of the new development want us not just to accept, but swallow the bitter pill that Nkrumah is Ghana and Ghana is Nkrumah. By that token, Nkrumah’s fall can be likened unto the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Accordingly, the resurrection, re-instatement, and re-building of ‘Nkrumah-Ghana’—not Ghana, but Nkrumah-Ghana—through the political catchword “Better Ghana” is a must. That is to say, the Ghana/Africa of Nkrumah ideas, philosophy, system, and structures is the vision and mission of the Atta-Mills NDC government. Now, this attempt to impose Nkrumah’s ideas and systems on Ghana—to honor and keep the Osagyefo (Redeemer) ghost or his memory at every gate of the political economy, with a new thrust of apostles, prophets, and evangelists and an Osagyefo-David in the Castle, not of Jubilee House of course, is the most absurd spiritual and political blunder in Ghana’s history. Even economic practicalities cannot tolerate and justify such an adventure. [We have written this before the change in the name of Jubilee House to Flagstaff House. We will turn to this later.)
Having stated the spiritual absurdity of the attempt to resurrect Nkrumah, imagine there is even such power and possibility, and the practical illogicalities of imposing his ghost at the gates of the nation’s political economy, we are left now to inform all and sundry that Nkrumah is not God. He is not a spirit power capable of raising men, filling, inspiring, and directing them and supervising their works in spirit and truth, in time and space in an abiding permanent and lasting manner as God and Christ can do, have done and are doing.
The disciples of Christ, past and present, yesterday, today, and tomorrow are Born Anew, filled with the Spirit of Christ, armed with the word of God, which is spirit, power, and life, and are endued with power from on high. They are accompanied, inspired, given utterance, spirit and strength. They are directed and controlled by the Holy Spirit, who acts on the orders of Jesus Christ Himself and the Father.
It is here that the Jews and Greeks stumble and fall. Not knowing God and lacking the full knowledge of His will, works, and ways, and/or having no connection or if they have, not developing adequate and sustained connection with Jesus Christ—the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, they accept every and all revelations of spirituality and intellectual power and delivery, either as of or from God or as adequate and sufficient for man. But how many such ideas, philosophies and works have gone down the drain as waste of human energy, political and social power, perpetuating the darkness and death of life without the spirit and light of God
Indeed, there are many—even within the church in Ghana—who would accept any spiritual, intellectual, and practical delivery as being of God and sufficient for Ghana. Such people may be bound by tradition, customs, culture, by ideas of men and doctrines of demons. They can, and do, uphold Nkrumah as Redeemer and the Nkrumah-Ghana agenda as a worthy cause, yet they profess to be apostles, prophets and evangelists of Christ.
However, he who is spiritual and knows the mind of God and Christ cannot uphold the wisdom of men and the spirit-power of man against God and Christ and the Ghana of God and Christ Kingdom Order in Ghana and Africa. In any case, Ghana had not progressed with Nkrumah’s ideas and systems. Physical edifices are not the issue. The spirit, power, conduct, and ways of men that endure and stand the test of time is the critical issue.
May I end by informing readers that I am not against Nkrumah as such. I am willing to accept that he was sincere in his convictions. That he did his best as he saw fit. But the essential truth is that neither His works nor ways are in consonance with God’s eternal plans and destined glory for Ghana. In saying this, we must remind readers that the greatness of Nkrumah should not be confined and constructed along the lines of bread and butter, cement and sand, highways and airlines. There are higher and more abiding national assets than roads, hospitals, schools, etc. Man does not live by bread alone. The economic interpretation of history is bankrupt.
