THEME: THE SOLOMONIC STANDARD OF GODLY GOVERNANCE 

Blessed be Jehovah who made heaven and earth. Peace be unto his excellency, the president. Amen! Jehovah has spoken. “Let God arise, and His enemies be scattered” (Psalm 68:1). We humbly re-echo the Scripture, saying: LET GOD ARISE FOR GHANA, so that the enemies of Ghana be scattered. Let God arise for the poor, weak, and needy, for the afflicted, oppressed, and appointed to death so life and liberty, freedom, justice, peace, righteousness, joy, faith, and hope in God can prosper in our land. 

Let God Arise to protect and defend His redemption, mighty, and wonderful works for the peace, righteousness, justice, liberty, progress, and prosperity of Ghana His chosen nation and people. The time has come for the Star of Africa to rise and soar higher and higher for God’s praise and glory in Africa and the world. Yes, let God arise and His enemies be scattered! 

Your Excellency, we write this because there is a rising trend of violence, wickedness and lawlessness, blood, and death in the entire nation, particularly in the politics and governance of the country. On the political front, there has been dearth in orderly conduct, decency, and sensibility in party politics and governance.  For example, political party stability and sanctity in intra-party and inter-party relations have suffered much violence and indeed been stampeded since Your Excellency assumed office, January 2009. His Excellency’s Administration as a matter of fact has been confronted with this phenomenon right from start beginning with “foot soldiers” stampeding against public officers, public offices, and public property. This has not abated, if anything, it has risen in diverse forms to a high pitch and crescendo. Ministers of State in His Excellency’s government have not helped matters either. Violence in lies, insults, guns, and misinformation—has become the new development and new modus operandi.  This is wickedness and cruelty. 

Consequently, the armed national security forces have had to be enlisted on a massive scale to ensure decency, freedom, liberty, peace, and stability at the government party, such as the NDC 2011 congress and parliamentary bye-elections. Politics and governance in democratic Ghana, under His Excellency’s watch, has thereby become like a nation at war with herself. This is primarily due to the lawlessness, violence, and wicked manipulation of state power, government power, and political party power. The NDC at one stage looked like a threatened species. It must be stated here that unrighteous and unjust manipulation of power, mixed with money, can help cover smothering fires, yet only for a while.  In any case, they cannot heal wounds.  Insecurity and instability have become a national tragedy—if not a crisis— in Ghana under President Mills. 

We believe, in the sight of Jehovah God, that His Excellency will not promote this and supervise the breakdown of law and order, the abuse of state and government power, the breakdown of peaceful and decent conduct of politics and governance, and above all peace, tranquility, and stability of the country. Ghana must cherish and maintain the hard fought Divine ordained Peace, Righteousness, Justice, Joy, Freedom, and Liberty in the country.  

Your Excellency, we humbly plead in the name of Jehovah God—and on behalf of the nation, the people of Ghana, Africa and Humanity as a whole—for whom God has redeemed and set Ghana apart and made her star and beacon of hope in our generation that you call to a halt this very unfortunate, abysmal, and despicable development.  

Furthermore, may we take liberty in Your Excellency’s professed Faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ, the King and Lord of the universe and Master of the Christian Faith to refer to the prayer of King David in Psalm 72 for his son Solomon at his ascension to the throne.  The lesson here is that God is concerned about the poor and needy, the afflicted, oppressed, and appointed unto death.  From the Scripture, we conclude that God is indeed concerned about blood, deceit. and violence common with Satan ordered governance. This is the situation in many African countries in particular and the world in general. The old king, king Lucifer and wicked Prince Cain must have no inheritance in the New Ghana.  

We humbly beseech His Excellency to consider David’s vision for Israel in his plea to God in verses 3 & 4, 12-14 of Psalm 72. “The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of the needy and shall break in pieces the oppressor. For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. He shall spare the poor and needy and shall save the souls of the needy.  He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.” (Ps. 72: 3-4, 12-14 KJV) 

Please forgive us. We quote the scripture for ease of reference and general information to the reading public since we assume that as a Christian leader you are conversant with Divine stipulations for godly order, peace, righteousness, justice, safety, stability, and security of life, people and nation. Government must be the agent of peace, security, and stability. The government administrative machinery must serve to promote and ensure righteousness. 

Your Excellency, David’s prayer gives assurance not only of divine blessing and abundance for a nation and people under such a regime. He reveals that the name, fame, and glory of the king in such a regime will ascend to heights and beyond borders. What a proof we see in Solomon’s reign!!  We have had such a case in the recent history of the country.  God honors righteous, honest, and humble leaders.  

However, such is not the case in Africa and many countries in the world. Power and leadership are for robbery, oppression, and murder in Africa. Violence, blood, and insecurity of life have become the lot of the people, with the poor and needy are the worst off. Ironically, power and leadership are sought to promote and protect the interests of the rulers, the rich, and very few cronies in present day politics and governance. The poor that eat from the table of political, traditional, and cultural patronage are but slaves.  

Your Excellency, there are many things happening in the country today. We do not need to call your attention to them here, since you are well informed and conversant with the state of affairs of the country more than anyone in the country. Your party’s manifesto, campaign promises, and developments in the nation and world constitute the background and measure of Your Excellency’s regime. That apart, the Most High God who redeemed Ghana and set her apart with Mighty Works from the 1960’s to Year 2005 has His own plans, purposes and glory for the country. David fought battles of faith, honor and glory. He exalted God and raised the throne to glory. Ghana still awaits her “King David” but somebody like King Saul with all his weakness must set the stage of honor and glory for the Davidic order and Throne of God in Ghana.
