It is that Christ in you that is a launching pad for vision, for your life, for
your society, for your nation, for humanity. How far do you go? In the Bible,
God told Abraham, as far as you can go, I give it to you. The people of the
world talk about vision. As far as you can go, I will give it to you. As far as
you sat here and you began to imagine and consider what we discussed
yesterday, and you begin to travel in it, you possess it. But the cardinal point
is that Christ what? The hope of Glory. We were led to this area of the
divine spirit within us as a launching pad for a new person. I tell my brethren
as the great is a mystery of Godliness. God was what? Manifest in the flesh.
And grace is the mystery of Godliness that Christ is manifest in you. So as
far as you can go, you can travel the Christ journey, and you will end it.
Christ has promised you that you’ll be like Him and we are waiting for that
day. People are waiting until they die, and they rise from their grave before
they enter that realm but as you live and continue to live and believe in
Christ and have a contact with the Spirit and you yield to the spirit, the
transformation is taking place and you are moving from glory to glory as a
Christ person or Christ.
Beloved, I want to thank you today that you have agreed that the man in
whom Christ is, is the basis and key of hope for humanity. You are the key
and hope for your race. You are the key and hope for your society. Today we
want to consider it. Today’s discussion, therefore, we focus on this
individual and society. That is, the vision is a new society or a new nation
made up of the redeemed of the Lord. A new society. If you have a vision
for your country or your people, your family, you have a vision for your
family. People have a vision for their family. So, in Ghana they will go and
hire teachers to teach their children apart from their school. They have
teachers to teach. They spend money and they buy books, and they have a
special private library, and they insist that the children should study and
learn because they have a vision that these children, “if I invest in them
tomorrow, they’ll be this or that. They have a vision for the children and he’s
investing money and time in the children because he wants them to do
something. You also can have a vision for yourself, for your society. And
depending upon your personal input and the collective input of all of us, we
can build a new nation and a new society. And that is the Christ vision for
humanity. Amen. Before turning over to today’s topic, let me read to you.
Unfortunately, I left it, but I’ll give you a synopsis of our redemption
mission, which I didn’t bring to you yesterday. Briefly, when I was
considering this topic, the Lord asked me to consider Israel’s redemption
from Egypt. When God asked Moses to lead Israel out of redemption from
Egypt, he went and dealt with Israel as a nation. He went, spoke to Pharaoh,
“let my people go. After the long battle, Pharaoh agreed that the people must
go. They must go and worship their God. All Israel went with their kids and
maybe they had some little gods they took from Egypt, they all went. The
trick is that everybody went as he went, or he was. There was nothing that
had changed. All that changed was that they were leaving the land of Egypt
and they were going somewhere else. They went with their baggage. If he
was a sinner, whatever place or position he was in society, he was a head of
family, or whatever it is, he was going. There was no change in that
redemption. They just crossed the Red Sea, and they continued to go to the
Promised Land. God was with them, but God did not affect their individual
members as persons. The only thing that happened was that there was Moses
and those appointed and given later on their Levitical priesthood and so on.
These were the appointments made. Moses took some people and laid hands
on them. The 70 and anointed them. These were the changes that took place.
Even throughout the history of Israel, the prophets and the priests were a
class unto themselves but everybody else lived like he was. In the Christ
redemption mission, it’s a different story. Every individual comes straight
with God and there’s a transformation. I just want to make it practical for
you. The focus of redemption in the Christ system is not in mass. It is in
mass, but it starts with the individual. That’s why I was suggesting that if
you want a change in society, it starts with the individual. If the collective
church, the church as a group are all redeemed and they are all standing in
Christ, they can influence the rest of society and they can continue to win
souls. Oh, Hallelujah. As we win souls and we disciple them and we bring
them to the mystery of Christ in the human life, society will change but if we
don’t have a vision for society, if we don’t have compassion for the excuse
me to say suffering masses. I don’t want the word mass. This is a Marxists
language. I’m not Marxist. If we don’t have a vision for our society, our
fellow human beings, we will not bother. Even you will not go and witness
by the street side. You will never be found witnessing about Christ to
anybody because the compassion for your fellow human being that is
suffering and dying doesn’t bother you. You are happy you are a Christian.
That guy is a fool that he has not come to church yet and you can insult him
that, “can’t you see the bells are ringing?” Can’t you hear? Meanwhile, who
is the bell? You yourself are carrying the bell and you don’t tell him about it,
and you are insulting him, and you are happy that you are going to heaven,
and he is in hell, going to hell. These people, look at these people and you
have never told them about Christ. You are working on the job site and you
don’t even want to witness about Christ. How can you affect people? But
you have been put there so that you should change their mindset and affect
them. You may not affect them, as I said, by just preaching, but be a
different person. Just be the Christ child. They will come to you and find out
what the secret is because you are different. Your perception, your
understanding, your behavior, your conduct, your language, everything is
different. You are a strange animal amongst them so they will come to you
and find out what is the secret? Peter said, “They will ask you, what is the
secret of your faith or your hope? And you tell them about whom? Jesus
Christ. I want you to get this picture to start with. It’s nothing extraordinary,
very simple, but it is necessary for you to get this picture otherwise you will
not understand the topic of today.
The Mosaic redemption is for a nation. The Christ redemption is for all
humanity, but it begins from the individual. The discovery we made
yesterday is that the spirit of Christ comes into and dwells in man, making
man a new creation or a second Adam person with seed of incorruptibility,
immortality, and divine heavenly glory. In that presentation yesterday, we
discovered the spirit and power of sinlessness, and victory over sin and
death, victory over the powerlessness of the fallen human nature, and the
intractables thereof in the face of darts and works of the enemy and against
the human soul, human life, and human society. Tomorrow, we will take the
human society on a higher plane. In this regard, we have heard and known
from our own experiences of the willing spirit battling against the force or
law of sin and death and vanity within the fallen human nature. Paul was
telling us in Romans 7 what? His desire is to do the things of God, but in
him dwells another power, another force that makes him do things against
the very opposite of what he wishes in his heart. There’s a law within Him.
There’s a force that compels him to act opposite, and he has no power over
that. Left to himself, his will cannot handle that. He has no power.
Praise the Lord. I remember when I was a student at Leggon, I was a first
class smoker, and I used to smoke from 20 to 40 to 60 sticks a day. I mean
cigarettes and as soon as you entered my room, you can see that the
cigarettes smoke had filled the whole place. I was trying hard to stop
smoking. The addiction was so strong, and I thought that my knowledge of
the money I was spending was sufficient to make me stop. So, I piled the
packets of the cigarettes I was buying in my room up to the wall so that
when I woke up and saw them, I would see the amount of money I was
spending, and that would convince me to stop. But the first thing I would
look for when I woke up from bed is to go to the place and buy a new packet
of cigarettes. I was helpless in that power. I was willing to stop smoking but
there was nothing in me that could stop. Romans 8 says, verse 3 and 4, it
says what? We desire to obey the law, but there’s nothing within the law.
There’s no power within the law that can transform me. Are you getting my
point? The law has no power within itself to change me and the law took
advantage of my weakness in the body to compel me and condemn me in sin
and death. So, the law that was meant to liberate me, rather condemned me
to sin but thanks be to Jesus Christ, the spirit of life in Christ has set me free
for the law of sin and death.
So, there’s something in Christ that liberates me. When I accept Jesus
Christ, and there was Holy Spirit baptism that night. I didn’t even understand
what is meant by Holy Spirit baptism, I was just in the crowd. They asked
those who wanted it to come forward. You know, it’s a long story. Praise the
Lord. And I went, I had the cigarettes in my car. You know, I bought
cigarettes at Kaneshi, you know, we were going to all night, and I had the
cigarette in my car. When I got home from all night, I went and slept. And
the first thing I woke up was to take the cigarettes, isn’t it? You have not
been in my place before, but I know what it means. I took the cigarettes and
put it in my hand. I took the match, and I wanted to put the cigarette in my
mouth and my hand was shaking. It will not go. My hand was shaking, It
would not go to my mouth. I could not overcome my shaking hand. There
was a will within me to smoke, but there’s a higher power on my will. And
that power was able to stop the cigarette and my addiction went
automatically. That is the power of Christ. You know, I had received Christ.
Are you following what I am saying, and he has taken control of my life.
He’s come in there. Hallelujah and he’s able to cast out that addiction. He
took it over. My nose was open and I could smell even spirits from distance
right there. You know, something happened to me. I had never been the
same since March, I’ve forgotten the day, March 1968 to today. I’ve never
tasted cigarettes. No, no, no, no, never. He’s able. Amen. There’s something
within this one. You see, the Lord could not have done it. Coming here and
preaching don’t fornicate, don’t speak, don’t do this, cannot help it. There
must be power. There’s a power behind the power. There’s a force behind the
power. It’s not the letter, but what? the spirit. So, if the preacher doesn’t have
that power within him, he can’t transmit the force that will take that lust out
of you. The deliverance is in the word of God that he is preaching but there’s
a contact point and if you open your heart, you’ll receive that deliverance. If
you open your heart, you’ll be taken out of that captivity. If you open your
heart and receive the Word, then receive the Word. There are life and power
in the Word. There is Spirit in the Word, and the Word will do the miracle
within you. If you open your heart and spirit into the Word, therein is the
power that liberates. Christ the liberator, Christ the deliverer, Christ the
salvation, Christ the redemption.
Beloved, the hope of man and the hope of human society is you. It
summarizes as you. I’m suggesting that that throws a challenge to you. I’m
getting off my my notes but I’m just trying to minister at the same time.
There’s you in you and that you in you must be given an opportunity. Christ
has come to indwell in you. Don’t confine him to your chest and let your
mind dwell somewhere else. Don’t act in your old human nature and expect
that you can be transformed. You can read the Bible and become a
philosopher but it’s not a spirit that redeems. Allow him to do something
new. He’s there purposely to make you a new person and you are a new
person, allow him to take over. Reverend Danso was discussing with me, I
said when you receive Christ in you, your old Adamic state is still present.
He has to infuse himself and spread into you to the extent you allow him to
take control and dilute and change. You will remain who you were and he
will remain there as a stranger in your heart but if you open up, you see him
doing miracles and the things that you couldn’t do, you will do and the
things you did, you will do no more. Not because there’s a law compelling
you but as you open your heart for him, he will take over and you must
know that. The word of God is spirit and its power and its life and as you
receive him, there’s a change. I don’t know why I’m going off my notes but
perhaps I need to explain to you the whole mystery about you as an
individual being the focus of change. There will be no change in society if
you don’t change. There will be no rise in standard of worship and diligence
of this church and evangelistic explosion if you refuse to back it up. When
they are asking for prayer for mission and you don’t go. When you give your
money, but you don’t go to the prayer meetings. The money cannot talk.
Money cannot pray for people; it is you who must go and pray. You can give
them money, but the money doesn’t pray for souls. You must be meeting to
pray for souls and in your home, you are praying for souls. You are giving
the money to hire a car, but the car doesn’t go and preach. You must be there
and be part of it, Hallelujah. You are the agent of change. You know, today
I’m ministering instead of coming to teach. Thank you, father. The Lord
wants me to do something to meet your needs. You have to catch a vision
that God has placed something in you, and you are the agency for change in
society and in the world. If you don’t accept it, you remain who you are and
you will never have influence on the rest of society. You remain yourself so
you yourself will not even benefit from the change, how much more be an
influence to change. Thank God. Sometimes we place this responsibility on
the pastors, as if they alone have to do this job. You are more responsible for
the society than the pastor. He’s only to guide you, but you are the man. Rev
Danso will you are the man in the marketplace. You can change the
situation. Without you, the marketplace will remain the wicked place where
corruption, wickedness, violence, robbery, trickery, deception, etc. etc. shall
be the norm. If you don’t accept righteousness and holiness and purity and
truth for yourself, how can you be an influencer? And when you go there,
you close your gap, and you say, “I’m not here to get involved with politics.
I’m not here to come and fight this battle. I just came to buy my tea and go
home. How can you influence society? The whole society is perishing, and
you are sitting down unconcerned. You are being intimidated by the things
that you see but the things that you see should not intimidate you. They
should throw a challenge at you. I have power within me to bring change,
and God is expecting me to bring change. Brethren, I’m leaving my notes,
because something is compelling me to make it practical and real for you, to
understand that the individual is a basis of hope for society. Just that.
(Shall we pray? Just pray for yourself.) Come to this point of understanding
that God has deposited Himself into you, that through you He might change
the world. You are the hope of Christ and the hope of humanity today. Think
about it. You are the person God has appointed at this hour. Pastor was
saying there’s deception in the church because the church, even the ministers
have not accepted the gospel but tonight you have accepted the gospel of
truth, of righteousness, of holiness, of purity, of faithfulness, of integrity.
The Christian faith is higher than you can imagine, and I want to thank God
today you are here, that together we’ll take our positions in society.
Where do you stand now regarding your family, your immediate nuclear
family here? What is the vision you have for your children and their lives?
How do they stand in terms of your convictions? What is the vision you
have for your larger family and what is the conviction you have for your
society? If God has brought you here in London, how do you view the state
of affairs in this nation? God put you here for a purpose, if for nothing else
that through you Christ might manifests himself to your race and your
generation. I thank you Father, I thank you Jesus Christ, I thank you, Amen.
Brethren, I was trying to suggest to you tonight that the hope of society is
based upon the standing of the individual members of society. Society, as we
know is made up of individuals, the nature, the state, the prospects of society
depend therefore on the constituent parts or some total of acts or otherwise
of the individual members in a society. This church can stand and achieve its
goals if the individual members of this church accept the responsibilities
involved. There’s no way the church can advance if as individuals we don’t
accept the challenge of the vision and mission of this church. There’s no
way. You can’t confine it to only the pastor and his wife or the pastor and the
elders of society of the church. “It is their job. As for me, I just came to
church, after closing, let me go my go. They want me to pay my tithe, here is
my tithe. They said there’s an envelope here, harvesters parcel, give me five
pound, put it in. Then you think your duty is finished with the money. The
money, you can’t send the money. I was telling them in South Africa; money
is the most foolish person you’ve ever met. It has no eyes, has no ears. You
see, that’s why when people make money their god, I laugh at them. If you
have a heap of gold and give it to a madman by the roadside, he will sit on it
and do everything on it. The money cannot complain. Have you seen gold
complaining that a madman has thrown it into the water? The madman can
do anything with the money and the money doesn’t complain. So, the money
is not the thing that does it, it is the man who has the money. Money can’t
talk, it can’t work, it doesn’t do anything. So, when the preacher comes and
like a foolish Ghanaian chief, or Ghanaian, they take the tree, and they cut
the tree and then they make a stool out of it. They burn part of the tree
branches as firewood, and they make some charcoal, and they rest they make
a stool and then they bow before the stool that they have made. What
darkness is this? That’s how the Christians are behaving. Money, they begin
to worship money and if he wants to decide what he’s going to do, it is
where money can go. Money has no thoughts. The people who are killing
are killing for money. Are you here with me? Money cannot see, it’s blind,
it’s not wise, it cannot talk, it cannot walk. So don’t make money your God
but seek wisdom, the whole of Proverbs. Seek Christ, seek wisdom. If you
don’t have money, you can do greater things than money because money
can’t talk and you can even go to the man who has money, and you take the
money and do greater things with it. He will admire that his money has done
great things, and he’ll be very happy. Don’t worship money.
I want to encourage you today, Hallelujah. Today I’m getting out of course.
The prospects and glory of society or characteristics and standard of conduct
and performance and hope of society depends upon the acts, the omissions,
the ideas, the performance and the embedding relationships in the family, in
groups within society and society as a whole. For example, the acts of sin,
disobedience, rebellion, callousness and lawlessness, immorality and
dishonesty, conscious less behavior, violence, wickedness, disrespect and
dishonor to the value of human life, these and all make and unmake society.
It is apparent, therefore, the crucial issue in character formation, social
standards and prospects of society. This crucial issue is whom? What is the
state and standing of the individual members? It is the individual members
that make a society a peaceful place to dwell in. It is the individuals that are
thieves and robbers, and they take guns all over the place. So, if society will
be a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous place, it still will take whom?
Individuals. Christ’s mission goes straight to whom? The individual. The
individual. Today, the world is talking about human rights and liberties,
freedoms, dignity as a right to life and equal opportunity and hope and all
but they never consider the character of this person, the individual. The
United Nations may have human rights and equal opportunity, and they
shout and dance through the streets of Accra and everywhere but it
constitutes the individual in the society, they have no program for them. You
cannot change the society by just marching through and saying human
rights. The way they treat people is not good. Yes, we know it’s not good but
how can you change the situation? You can’t change the situation by just
marching through the streets and putting, what is the name? The Yugoslav
man. The Serbian king. When he was in the court, what happened? He died.
Does this solve the problem? No, it doesn’t solve the problem. There will be
another man who will rise up and say, if I die, I die. (All die be closing eyes.
So, he will kill and kill. As long as he lives and they don’t kill him, he will
continue to kill. He is prepared to die so if they kill him in the process, right
but he has fulfilled his mission. I’m here to kill people. Christ said, you will
be a matter of peace, an instrument of peace, righteousness, holiness, truth,
liberty and life. The value of life shall be important to you. Therefore, he
starts by changing you yourself. We are talking about a good society, but we
don’t talk about what? The individuals. And the Christ mission starts with
whom? The individual. That’s the difference. The world is talking about the
large thing, but the individual is crucial to the Christian mission. When you
talk about liberty and the which we find from that, it’s all from Christianity,
but individual is precious before God so you can’t kill carelessly, and we
don’t kill. The Old Testament said, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
The other day, the Lord was telling me, Reverend Danso, that if you catch a
murderer, and you have lost somebody, and the murderer has killed
somebody, so you take the murderer and kill him, society has lost two
people. Society has lost how many people? Two. You lost the one who was
killed, and you lose also the murderer. So, society as a whole has suffered
greater violence and loss. The Lord was discussing that with me. The old
testament, Moses’ idea said to stamp out murder and these things, if a
woman commits adultery throws stones, kill her, and all the rest of it. Jesus
said, no, don’t throw stones. Change the individual. He told the woman, go
and sin no more. Go and sin no more. They caught her in the sin, and they
want to throw stones, and they were ready to kill her until, bless God, Jesus
passed that way. The individual who was going to be killed is precious; the
soul is precious before Jesus Christ. You and I would say that person
deserves what? Beatings. “Let’s beat him, let’s kill him, you know, and you
can even say as a Christian that, this sin is unpardonable. You know, I mean,
let’s get rid of this person, you know. Even in the church, you can make sure
that the person leaves the church because you don’t love the individual, but
that individual is precious. I’m leaving my message, but I want you to
understand it. The whole edifice of Christ redemption starts from where?
You see, from one man sin came to the world and from one man
righteousness and life came, one man. Both of them what? One man. He
said, you shall be saved and your household. If you save one in the family,
and he knows God and begin to intercede and change his character
gradually, the family shall be changed. And if the family is changed, who is
changing? Society, the clan is changing. So, the church has a responsibility.
That’s what I’m trying to suggest. The church has responsibility for social
change. I was telling them in Kumasi that the Christian faith is a mechanism
for social change and except you understand it that way, you will only be
thinking in the old way that you are going to heaven so, let me keep myself
apart and don’t get involved. If I get saved, let me be in the church and be
sober and go to heaven. If you come to the other faith, “I’m saved. I have to
conquer the world, amass wealth and things and it’s all right, amen, so you
have no concern about what? The environment. There are many people
perishing. Maybe that money you want to use to have a cool house and a
cool car can be transferred for the evangelization and winning of other
people. It’s not equalization process, but you have a burden for the fellow
human being. Paul said in 2nd Corinthians 10, before you can save people
and bring them to captivity at the feet of Jesus Christ, make sure you
yourself establish your righteousness. 2nd Corinthians, is it chapter 10? From
verse five to 10, downwards. Establish your own righteousness, thanks.
God is interested in you as a person. That is why the redemption story and
the whole enterprise has been focused on you, that having been born again,
redeemed and restored to glory, your neighbor very soon you become poles
of light. Peter says that “you are a holy nation, a peculiar people to show
forth the marvelous light not to God but the rest of society that they will see
a new people, a holy nation and that is the basis of the change. I want to
thank God for your life today that you are coming to the understanding that
your salvation is a key to the redemption of your people and the state of
affairs within your community or society or your nation depends on how far
you take your salvation and redemption serious because everything there
depends upon you. It is apparent therefore that the crucial issue in character
formation, social standards and prospects of society, nations of people is the
individual. The world has observed and brought us to this point, but the
world has no idea about the individual. If the individual, his character and
standing determines the character, prospects and destiny of society, nation,
people or race, it goes without saying that there’s need for a special or proper
determination of what type, what kind, what liberties, what prospects of the
individual persons or members of society. In other words, society should
take particular care as to what kind of human beings we are building. What
kind of society, what type of human being do you want to have in this
country? The people of the world are talking about liberties, but they don’t
care about human beings. That’s why gay people say they have a right, and
thieves also say they have a right, Amen. The thieves and the armed rubber
said they pray before they go to the street so they want somebody to be a
fool so that they can rob him. They too have a right so armed robbers will
say “we have a right to have guns and to kill at random, but if as individuals
they are saved, do you think they will be that? No. Salvation is with the
individual. The Christ human redemption system therefore focuses first and
foremost on the redemption, good standing and prospects of the individual
human being. The human being is precious before God. Very precious.
I was telling them in Ghana, and I think I mentioned to brother Danso here
today, I have come to a point that the human life is so precious before me
now. It’s difficult for me to condemn a man and when I see children I enjoy
it more than anything else because this little child is a complete human being
like the old man who is about to die. This little child and this baby are a
complete man or human being like his parents. That child is a complete
person and he’s precious before God hallelujah. You’re not in Ghana
anymore so let me tell you; if you have a maidservant in your house, she is
also a human being. The maidservant or the house worker who comes and
cleans your houses and who washes your things and goes home and you give
him or her a little of your pennies and pesewas, he’s a human being like you.
There’s no reason why you should discriminate against that child. There’s no
reason why you should demean that person. There’s no reason why you
should let us know that she’s but a worker. No, as a Christian that soul is
very precious and the way you treat that soul, God is looking at it. He’s very
precious. I bow before you because we have a culture of mistreatment of our
fellow human beings. We have a culture So, we don’t value human life, but
if you are a Christian, you must value human life. You are so precious that
Christ died on the tree for you. He died for that other person and the other
person and the other person. They have not come to the knowledge of that
liberty yet. That’s why you are there as an example to draw them so don’t
condemn them, don’t kill them, don’t treat them carelessly, don’t make them
look as if they are not human beings like you are. When we are talking about
black man redemption, we will come to these things. Don’t treat them that
way. The other people are treating you that way as black people and you are
not happy, but when you get another black person, you treat them the worst
way. You treat her the same way because you have a little position of power
and money or whatever it is, I don’t know. Hallelujah.
I can imagine the pastor’s wife who think the members of the church are her
property, including the elders. So, when she goes to bed, she tells her
husband, “Why do you allow these people to do certain things? Come on,
get going man. Pastors forgive me. No, this is not for pastors, this is for
pastor’s wives. Praise the Lord. The Bible and envisages as I said earlier on
that save one person you save a household, save one person, you save a
nation, save a nation, save one person, you save a people. By the acts of one
man, the whole nation can be saved. Five people in whole, Sodom and
Gomorrah, God would have spared them the fire. So, you are very important
for destiny, first of all, for the prospects and destiny of nations. God wants to
use you to influence society. Your obedience of righteousness in Christ and
hope in Christ is a mechanism for God to bring his influence upon the rest of
society. To the world, the human being is but a piece of animal to be
sacrificed need be for society. The business world, the world economies and
social structures of the world treat the society higher than the constituent
members or the individual members. But Jesus taught the opposite. To the
world the economy is more important than the members. So Great Britain
will be talking about GDP and so on to give you the statistics. Meanwhile
the members are not happy and suffering and they will not look at it. But
Jesus said you leave the 99 and go and look for the one that is lost. It is good
the economy is doing very well but there are a few people that are suffering.
What is society doing about it? That’s why the church becomes an
instrument of healing and belief in society because these people are victims
of society. Now when the church becomes a member of what they call the
establishment, and they don’t speak against evil in society; When the church
cannot take her position as a prophet of God in the nation and there’s evil in
society and the church is avoiding so -called confrontation, the church is
guilty and the blood of those who are suffering shall be required of the
church. The church has a duty to speak against evil in society.
I was telling some people; when people go and do wicked things and people
are suffering, they give the money to the church. Then the church has a
small foundation for the poor and needy and they have food somewhere to
eat. Meanwhile, the wicked people are continuing in their wickedness, and
more people are suffering and dying. Then they tell the church, “Oh, you get
some money and when the people have nothing to eat, give them food. The
wicked people are purging their conscience for wickedness, and the church
has become a depository of pesewas to confuse. In the modern society, in the
British economy and so on, you have the welfare state, and so on. Let us not
enter those things.
But brothers, the individual is crucial in the divine system. Everybody is
precious before God. That is why you and I must take our salvation very,
very seriously. That we shall develop and grow in the Christ nature, that
through us, God can extend his hand to touch the lives of men. That is the
salvation and redemption of the individual, his standing, his performance
and fulfillment hold the balance and destiny of society, nations and people.
When you come to British and philosophies, liberalism, humanism, and
some of these liberties and philosophies, you can also come and meet how
they are trying to have a human dimension and interpret the Christian faith
and its prospects, especially with Milton and all the rest of it. I think Bro.
Danso and those who write philosophy will know what I’m talking about.
Adam Smith said, there’s an invisible hand that mixes things. Whether the
invisible hand is God or what? I don’t know but he mixes, controls, produces
and runs output. They call it the gross domestic product. But the gross
domestic product is the sum total of the output for all the constituent parts of
the economy. And if you don’t take care of the constituent parts, how do you
have the gross domestic product? if you don’t consider the individual
members of society, the agents of production within society, if you don’t
take care of them, how do you have a higher product? So, this is another
dimension. I’ll just bring that for you to know that the individual is very
important in the political economy of God.
The divine human redemption plan focuses on the individual, his saving,
redeeming and restoring growth to the individual through him, the family,
through the family unit and society. The new man and the hope of nations. It
is here that the Christ human redemption mission focuses on the salvation,
redemption and research of glory to the individual as basis of Christian faith
and mechanism of social engineering. If the individual is saved, delivered,
healed, redeemed and restored to glory in the fullness of redemption in
Christ, if the redeemed individual or peoples, that is the church, put on
Christ, showing forth the life, the light, the liberty, love and glory in the
divine nature, if they show the spirit, power and victory in Christ and above
all, if they are conscious and observe the love and mercy, the righteousness
and justice in the knowledge of God, the Christ human redemption will
become a practical and social reality in our day and generation. The Mosaic
redemption took Israel as nation and people. They went out intact, as I said,
in nature and standing as of the old nature. But the Christ redemption
mission comes as a package first for the individual, for the household, then
for the church and the body of believers and through the body of believers,
the whole society and the nation.
In conclusion, let us suggest that the Christ human redemption mission
focuses and is dependent upon the redeemed of the Lord. That is the nature,
the performance, the standing of the individuals and body of saints in Christ.
That is the church committed to the will, cause, purposes and glory of God.
Colossians 2: 6 -10 says “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus, the
Lord, so walk ye in him. It didn’t say walk before him or walk about him, but
it said walk ye in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith
as ye have been taught, abiding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any
man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all
the fullness of the of the Godhead bodly, and ye are complete in him. I like
that one. And ye are complete, which is the head of all principality and
power. Our completion is in him. If you are not settled in Christ, you can’t
pretend that you are complete and you cannot fight the principalities and
powers, (which we will to it tomorrow). You can’t fight them. You are
dealing with angels, spirits and powers. How can you fight them? As a
human being who was created lower than them in the first place. There’s
nothing in you to fight them. So, you cannot change society except you are
complete in him. Then, you can deal with the principalities and powers that
rule the society. They dictate their things. Praise the Lord. Beloved, they
dictate. Alcoholism and all these things, there are spirits behind them. How
do you redeem the people if you are not in Christ. If you go to their parties,
very soon you will start drinking alcohol because there’s a power that rules
that place and if you are not standing well, and you say you’re going to
witness to prostitutes, you must stand in Christ, brethren. You must. Because
you don’t know the spirit running the system. There’s a spirit running the
system, brethren. Are you getting me? You go to the brothels, and there are
spirits in charge of the area and you said you want to go and fight what,
prostitution? No, no, no, no. Yes, its good but make sure you are standing in
him because you cannot, they’ll pull you down. They are spirits therefore if
you want to go and preach, also you don’t preach in human intellectual
power. You can’t go and witness. I know you can’t say in the name of Jesus,
be cast out because you can’t say it. If you say it’s only a recitation, you are
only repeating words but for the thing to have impact, there must be Christ
coming from you. The Christ is the one that will manifest and disarm them.
Praise the Lord. I was having a crusade at Tamale in the Rawlings regime,
and the police and the soldiers were ruling the whole place. And they were
accusing government and politicians of bribery and so on. The first day I
went and stood in public and said let every soldier and police come and tell
me if since they came into power, they have not received bribes. I dealt
greatly with them. Praise the Lord. You don’t know Tamale, but Tamale is a
dangerous place to go and speak in the public. And I was sitting right behind
a police station. The following day, the second day of the crusade, when I
went, there were soldiers, bare chest soldiers with short knickers standing
behind the crusade grounds. They were humming behind the platform. “If
you are a man come”. But later on, I considered it, they were defending me.
You see, I was speaking against politicians and powers and the politicians,
the policemen and soldiers, they are all guilty. Now you don’t know but
anybody can throw a stone or do something against you whilst you are
speaking on the platform. So, when I went, they told me that the soldiers
were looking for me and they had lined up behind the platform. I’m serious,
about 20 of them, bare chested with only shorts, and police and everybody
were standing in attention position. When they told me, I said, “You wait,
I’m going to speak and 15 to 20 minutes, you see, all of them will leave. So,
I mounted the platform. I have a prayer partner; she’s a young lady called
Mary. I said, “Mary, sit in the car and she was in the car, and I mounted the
platform. I started preaching, by 15 to 20 minutes, before I realized,
everybody had left. The soldiers went. Did they come to fight me to put a
fear of God in me? Or did they come to make sure that the people there
know that the soldiers and nobody dare touch that man? You see anything
can happen. They didn’t tell me why they wanted me. They said, where is
the preacher? But I wasn’t in at that time. Brethren, if you are not a
Christian, you don’t stand in Christ, this will scare you. You will say “let’s
close the meeting. You go to a crusade, and soldiers, tough men with bare
chests standing in the attention position, “We are waiting for the man to
come. Yes, I’m telling you, brethren, I was in Axim, and Axim is a place.
We went to deal with Nkrumah spirit in Nkroful to save Ghana from
Nkrumah’s power. We had to deal with the power of which Nkrumah was
controlling the country. We had to cast it out so that Nkrumah’s influence is
cancelled, can never come back to Ghana and take Ghana away. No. So we
went and did it. Then we went through a three-day crusade. Witchcraft at its
proper level in Axim, Nzema proper. Everything was ready. The music was
fine. Everything was ready but as soon as I mounted the platform, boom, the
power went off. Everything went off. Brethren, what do you do? Do you
close crusade? Then they told me some, I won’t mention the church. A very
big Pentecostal church came to Axim. They all packed. Everybody was
itching, and they started leaving. Even the preacher left. I stood up and I
said, “Lord, let me see the midnight sun and I asked the people to sit down
on the grounds, and I went through and preached the gospel without
microphone. I was moving, and brethren, going near them means you are
exposed to their powers. If you know Ewe land. In Ewe land, they are
coming right there, and they are shooting you. I was moving among the, the
congregation, the crowd, not congregation, the crowd and we had the
crusade. But people had come there, when that happened, they packed their
things and left. If you don’t have Christ in you, you can’t meet these
challenges. It’s impossible. So, the Christ in you is the hope of glory. The
Christ in you, I’m serious, the Christ in you. It will rise to that occasion,
Amen.
There’s Christ in you, my brethren. Pastors, I challenge you, there’s Christ in
you. Let him lift himself. You even go to meetings of pastors and they start
challenging themselves because some of them don’t have Christ, they have
other powers so they will challenge you because they want to see your
height in the spirit. I know from experience. Some pastors don’t have Christ
with them. They have other powers and when you have pastors meeting,
they’ll come with their power. So, if you are in a community where they are
unbelievers and they are sitting down, you are meeting with these gurus
sitting down there, brethren, it’s power so you must stand in Christ. If you
are with your family and there’s a family meeting, they know you before you
get there. You must stand in Christ. If you are not ready to stand, don’t go to
some of these meetings, amen, and if you go be humble about how you
speak. I’m serious, because you cannot come back again. I’m talking about
power. The Lord bless you. His Christ is where? Here is in the bosom of
your being and on all occasions, He said, don’t worry what you shall speak
or what you shall say, but the Holy Spirit in you will speak. When that time
comes, when they arrest you and there are confrontations and the spirits are
wild against you, there’s somebody in you and that somebody will rise to the
occasion and disarm all of them.
I was in Tamale, I was in Bolga. They were throwing stones, and all the
stones went around me, and I was preaching. They made a circle around me.
Missiles, stones, were thrown from the crowd but nothing touched me. How
can you do this if you don’t have Christ? Because the one they are sending is
not ordinary stones. They too are sending it missiles, spiritual missiles to
you. How can you do it? So how can you save society? When spirits and
powers have dominated the police. The politicians want to go to election in
Ghana, and they all have consulted powers. They want to win the election.
And they are all coming. How can you fight this battle? If you are an
ordinary, ‘I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Grow in Christ. Amen. We’ll
come to it someday. When you go to the business side, grow in Christ
because then when they see Christ in you, they will challenge you. Some
will hate you just because of Christ in you. They’ll hate you immediately.
They won’t see you again because there’s Christ in you. How do you
overcome that one? The hope of the society is you. The hope is the church
and the church is Christ. There’s no church outside Christ. It is not the
theories and the philosophies and the winning ways that is Christianity. It’s
the Christ in you. That’s Christianity. If you don’t grow in that Christ in you,
these are only philosophers of action but the real me as a Christian is a
Christ in me and you must grow in him. That’s why Jesus said, for God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. That as many as
believe. He said, whosoever believes in Him shall not perish. Whosoever,
individual. It is presented to the whole nation but only individuals answer for
themselves. Those who answer for themselves shall be instruments of
change. The new heavenly kingdom on earth shall be built by these people
and tomorrow we shall see. They confront the reality, the spiritual and social
reality, with the Word of God by themselves and their outreach.
I want to thank God for you today. I just want you to know that God has a
great plan for you and me and He selected us out of millions. There are
millions passing through the land, but He found you. He found you. It’s you
He found, and you must be happy that He found you so make yourself
available that whatever He purpose in you, for you and through you shall be
fulfilled. It must be fulfilled, brethren. If it’s not fulfilled, you’re going to
give an answer. Oh, by all means, you’ll give an answer. You have to give an
answer. You must give an answer. You will give an answer. He put a deposit
of gift of the Holy Spirit in you, and you’ve never used them, yet you are in
the church, and you keep them quiet by your corner. Visions and things are
coming. The burden is in your house. Somebody calls for prayer. You are
not interested because you don’t have time. I have a job to do. I have a
schedule to keep. Where does that strength come from for that schedule to
keep? Where is that strength my brethren? The energy with which you are
working, the brain that you are working with to get a position in the office,
who gave you the brain? Who gave you the energy? Where does it come
from? Yet you don’t have time for the person who gave you and you can’t
give an account for your life. But he has not come to condemn you. He has
come to raise you up to higher glory. That’s why he put himself in you and
deposit things in you that through you he must glorify himself. I went to the
extent of telling the church in Ghana. We are not to prove Christ. You
cannot prove Christ. He is too high and above you to prove him. Just be an
instrument for him to manifest himself. You can’t prove Christ. It’s
impossible. You don’t even know the fullness of God to prove him. How can
you prove a person that you don’t know? Your witness and knowledge of
Christ is very limited so you cannot prove him. So, allow him to glorify
himself and as you stand and you submit in all humility, you will see that he
will glorify himself and then the people will say that it’s not you who is
speaking but Christ. There must be some power in you.
Hallelujah. The other day, I went to a funeral of one of the old men. I went
to Presec and one of our old Presec members, a 77-year-old man, he decided
to leave us so went to his funeral. And as we were in the church, I was
sitting quietly, and then the Holy Spirit made me look at something. There
was Christ on the wall, and he manifested himself and I was rejoicing. I had
a problem with my eyes, and I was in pain, but the Lord said just lifted up
your eyes, look at that. And I saw Christ by the wall. And there was a kind
of communication between us, and I started laughing. If you see the mood
in. Not knowing, my classmate was sitting by my side and when we went
out after the service he said, Enoch, I want you to tell me something.
Spiritual people are wonderful people. Something happened to you, tell me
the secret. What happened? You see what happened? Not knowing they
were all watching me. I was in a different realm. I said, Mike, I will tell you
later. He said, “You don’t have to go. You must tell me what happened to
you before you left. And I said, I met somebody we were having a chat. “Oh,
I understand. It’s enough, I understand. In other words, I knew whom I met. I
met whom? Christ in the church, by the wall. He was standing by the wall,
and we were communicating, and I was laughing, and they noticed it. Are
you following what I’m saying. My classmates noticed and said, this man is
a different person. You are a different person. I just said this not to boast of
myself, but to tell you that there’s something in you, that they will take
notice of. When he goes home, he’s going to spend time to take the scripture
and find this something in you. You have changed his life. The whole life of
the man has changed without my saying anything. But when I said, I was
talking to somebody, he said, “I understand you. One day he said, “Enoch,
no scientists have ever made impact on the science field who does not
believe in God. All the scientists who have made impact are those who
believe in God and they have left impact on the same field. I’m a Christian,
so I’m a lay preacher. He knows God. He went to a typical Christian school.
He was my classmate. The beginning was not lost on him. He got it. You too
have it and allow that God to manifest. In the midst of a congregation of
mourners, there was this Christ. Are you following what I’m saying. There
was this Christ. A man wanted to see me. I said, what’s happening? He said,
last night when you came to the funeral, I saw something, and the woman
was speaking to you, so I went and asked, who are you? And they mentioned
your name. And I saw people coming to see you. I said, me too, I want to be
seen. I want you to pray for me, please. At the funeral, right there in the
middle of the people. Pray for me, pastor pray for me. Meanwhile, he had
something around his neck, so I asked him, “Are you from the chief’s house?
he said, yes, pray for me. We can’t do anything, pray for us. He’s seen
something. Are you following what I’m saying? They’ve seen this Christ in
you. So, a few words of exalting of Christ can change his life.
I thank God for you. Thank you for the opportunity to share this with you.
Thank God for pastor, his desire for you. Last year when I spoke at your
camp meeting, it was redeeming the nations for Christ. According to him, he
thought that I said something, and the redemption of the nation’s begin with
the individual, so he said, let us go deeper into it. I have not come to go
deeper into it. Reverend Danso took a lot of my time today on the deeper
side, but I gave you the pillars and the structures. Maybe one day we’ll have
a series of chats on it, so that you as an individual can see how do we grow
in this Christ? Hallelujah. And then the Lord will manifest himself. I’m
excited about Christ. He’s all I know. Hallelujah, and he’s all I yearn for.
Paul says, I count all things but dung that I might win Christ. Whatever you
are desiring in the world, there’s nothing compared to this Christ. And you
know the humility of this Christ. He has made you, your body his own. He
has been humble enough to come and dwell in you, with all your weaknesses
and foolishness. He’s a witness to even your sins yet he didn’t depart from
you because you have sinned. Let your people hate you because you have
sinned, Christ will have mercy and lift you out of it. So, I thank God for you
and bless you for this Christ who has found me and found you. One day I
wrote a mission theme, I said, “Grace has found us, faith has moved
mountains. One anniversary, our 25th anniversary, Grace has found us. Faith
has moved mountains and one of our members wrote it and copied it. She
sells these phone cards, and she wrote them on the card. Not cards they sell
but the slip they give you, a sheet of paper and then they transfer. A Korean
passed and bought it and saw it. This man has given that girl 200 million
because she saw Grace has found us. Faith has moved mountains. Just that,
on a sheet of paper she found. She said you are the kind of people we can
use to build this nation. I’m a missionary, I’ve come to Ghana, and I have
not found anybody yet but when I saw that paper, Grace has found us, faith
has moved mountains, we want to work with you.
Let Grace find you. Let Christ find you. You don’t know when this same
Christ shall move somebody to get close to you.
God bless you and thank you.
