Who is the faithful servant.

Series:

SERMON INSIGHTS

The Ongoing Search for Kingdom Laborers

Central Spiritual Truth: Although the redemption mission is accomplished in heaven, God continues to search for faithful men and women to manifest His kingdom glory on the earth.

  • The question remains throughout history: “Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?” (Revelation 5:2). This inquiry highlights that God is perpetually in search of those who can handle the weight of His heavenly vision.
  • A vision given in 1963 showed a heavenly band, symbolizing the kingdom of God coming down to earth in places like Lagos and Ghana. Despite the scoffers who laughed at this message, the kingdom glory has indeed become a reality among us today.
  • Even though we have proven God faithful and true, the work is not yet completely finished in our physical realm. New tasks arise daily, requiring a fresh response from those who are willing to be counted among the faithful.
  • The mission is settled in the spirit, yet the call goes out: “Who or where are the faithful?” This search is not for the perfect, but for those who will stand firm and continue the ongoing kingdom glory mission.
  • Faithful servants are needed to ensure that the testimony of the kingdom does not fail in this generation. You must recognize that you are part of an ongoing spiritual lineage that must carry the torch of truth forward.

The Character and Identification of a Servant

Central Spiritual Truth: A true servant is identified not by outward status, but by their submission to the Lamb and their willingness to be a vessel for God’s glory.

  • A faithful servant is one who recognizes the worthiness of the Lamb that was slain to receive all “power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing” (Revelation 5:12). Your service must be rooted in the recognition that only Christ is truly worthy of our total devotion.
  • The identity of a servant is found in being a “vessel of hope for humanity” and an instrument of God’s glory. You are not serving for your own reputation, but to be a contact point where others can encounter the grace of the Father.
  • True servants are those who do not become stumbling blocks or agents of dissipation within the ministry. Instead of disrupting the flow of God’s glory, they submit themselves once again to the goodness and leading of Christ.
  • In the heavenly vision, the elders and living creatures fall down before the Lamb, showing that the highest form of service is worshipful submission. To be a faithful servant on earth, you must mirror this heavenly posture of humility and redirected praise.
  • You must pray to be perfected in your walk so that you can become a true instrument of the Lord. The goal of your character formation is to be found reliable in the eyes of the One who called you.

 Overcoming Obstacles to Faithfulness

Central Spiritual Truth: To remain faithful, a believer must seek deliverance from internal and external distractions that hinder their spiritual energy and disrupt God’s work.

  • Many things can disturb your walk and make you a “stumbling block” to the progress of the Gospel. You must ask God for deliverance from these specific weights that cause a dissipation of your spiritual energy.
  • There is a constant danger of becoming an agent of “disruption of God’s glory” if your heart is not properly aligned. Deliverance is necessary to ensure that your life consistently reflects the light of the kingdom rather than the shadows of the world.
  • The foe is real, but as “onward Christian soldiers,” you must march on with the cross of Jesus going before you. The “royal Master” leads against the foe, providing the strength needed to overcome every spiritual adversary.
  • You must be wary of becoming a hindrance to the ministry through a lack of submission or a divided heart. Faithfulness requires a clean break from anything that prevents you from being a “vessel of hope.”
  • The grace upon your life is a gift that must be protected through constant prayer and re-submission to Christ. By acknowledging His goodness, you gain the stamina to remain faithful through every generation and trial.

The Reward and Dominion of the Lamb

Central Spiritual Truth: The ultimate goal of the faithful servant is to see the kingdoms of this world transformed into the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ.

  • The proclamation is sure: “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15). Your labor is tied to this inevitable victory where Christ assumes His rightful authority over all nations.
  • We join our voices with the heavenly host, saying with a loud voice that the Lamb is worthy of all honor. This song of praise is the anthem of every faithful servant who looks forward to the total reign of God.
  • The purpose of our service is to see these heavenly realities “done in our lives, in our lifetime, in our generations.” We work not for a distant, unreachable future, but for the manifestation of God’s kingdom right here and now.
  • The Lamb who was slain is the one who empowers us with “power and riches” to fulfill the mission. We do not work in our own strength, but in the abundance of what Christ has already received and shared with His servants.
  • The final end of all faithful service is the glory of God being established in this country and beyond. We pray that our generations and those to come will continue to walk in this perfected grace.

EXHORTATIONS AND CALLS TO ACTION

  • Seek Deliverance: If you feel you have become a stumbling block, “ask God to deliver you right now” from those things disturbing your walk.
  • Submit Anew: “Submit ourselves once again” to Christ, thanking Him for His goodness and asking for the grace to walk in it.
  • Step into the Task: Acknowledge that while the mission is accomplished, you must face the “new tasks” God has set before you today.
  • Be a Vessel: Resolve to be an “instrument indeed of your glory” and a “vessel of hope for humanity” in your daily life.

PRAYER “Father, we thank you for this grace upon our lives. We pray that you help us to be able to walk in it, to perfect things, and to be instruments indeed of your glory. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.”
