The Mosaic Redemption VRS the Christ Redemption

The Contrast Between National and Individual Redemption
Central Spiritual Truth: While the Mosaic redemption moved a nation geographically without changing the nature of the people, the Christ redemption transforms the individual heart as the primary catalyst for change.
- Moses led Israel out of Egypt as a national unit, but the people went with their old nature and even their “little gods” intact. There was no internal change in the individuals; they simply moved from one land to another with their same spiritual baggage.
- In the Mosaic system, only a specific class of people, the prophets and priests experienced special appointments or anointings. The rest of the nation lived exactly as they were before, without a personal spiritual transformation affecting them as persons.
- The Christ redemption mission is a different story because it requires every individual to come straight to God for a personal transformation. It focuses on the individual first, rather than just moving people en masse.
- The Old Testament legal system used harsh punishments like stoning to try to stamp out sin, but it could not change the person’s nature. Jesus demonstrated a new way by telling the woman caught in adultery, “go, and sin no more,” focusing on the value of her soul rather than her destruction.
- Society remains unchanged if we only focus on group movements, but when the individual is redeemed and stands in Christ, they gain the power to influence their entire society. A changed nation is simply the collective result of individuals who have been made new.
Christ in You: The Hope of Glory and Launching Pad for Vision
Central Spiritual Truth: The indwelling Spirit of Christ is a “launching pad” that empowers the believer to imagine, possess, and manifest a divine nature in the physical world.
- The mystery of godliness is that “God was manifest in the flesh” , and now that same mystery is fulfilled as Christ is manifest in you. This indwelling presence serves as the foundation for your vision for your life, your nation, and all of humanity.
- As you believe in Christ and yield to the Spirit, a continuous transformation occurs that moves you from “glory to glory”. You do not have to wait until death to enter this realm; the transformation is taking place now as you live.
- “Christ in you, the hope of glory” provides the seed of incorruptibility and immortality, giving you victory over the powerlessness of fallen human nature. This power disarms the spiritual missiles and “darts and works of the enemy” directed against the soul.
- Vision is described as traveling in the Christ journey; as far as you can imagine and “travel” in that spiritual reality, you can possess it. This is illustrated by God telling Abraham that as far as he could see, it would be given to him.
- The individual in whom Christ dwells is the key and hope for their race and society. You are the agent of change because God has deposited Himself into you to change the world through your transformed life.
The Limitation of the Law and the Power of the Spirit
Central Spiritual Truth: The letter of the law lacks the power to liberate from addiction and sin, but the “Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” provides the actual force for deliverance.
- The law has no internal power to change a person; it only takes advantage of human weakness to command and then condemn the sinner. Romans 8:3-4 explains that while we may desire to obey, the law is made weak through the flesh.
- A personal struggle with cigarette addiction illustrates this: despite piling up empty packs to see the wasted money, the human will was helpless against the power of addiction. The desire to stop was present, but there was no force within the self to overcome the physical compulsion.
- Deliverance occurred only after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which provided a “higher power” over the will. When attempting to smoke again, the hand physically shook and would not reach the mouth, proving that Christ had taken control of the body.
- Preaching without the Spirit is merely “the letter,” which cannot transmit the force necessary to remove lust or addiction from a listener. True deliverance is found in the Word of God when it is preached with power and received into an open heart.
- If you do not allow Christ to infuse Himself and spread through your being, He remains a “stranger in your heart” while you continue to act in your old nature. Transformation happens only as you open up and allow Him to do something entirely new within you.
The Believer’s Responsibility as a Social Agent
Central Spiritual Truth: The church is a mechanism for social change, and its effectiveness depends entirely on the standing and obedience of its individual members.
- Society is the sum total of its individual parts; therefore, social standards and prosperity depend on the character formation of each member. If the individuals are thieves and robbers, the society will be violent; if they are saved, the society finds peace.
- The church cannot advance if individuals refuse to accept the challenge of the vision, mistakenly thinking the responsibility lies only with the pastor. You are more responsible for the marketplace than the pastor is, as you are the one present in those centers of corruption and trickery.
- Giving money is insufficient because “money cannot talk” and “money doesn’t pray for souls”. You must physically go to prayer meetings and go out to witness, as the money you give to buy a car cannot drive itself to preach the Gospel.
- The world prioritizes the economy (GDP) over the happiness of the individual, but Jesus taught to leave the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep. Every human life is precious, from the newborn baby to the maidservant in your house, and must be treated with the dignity Christ bought on the tree.
- The church is guilty if it becomes part of “the establishment” and refuses to speak against evil or purged consciences with small foundations for the poor while wickedness continues. As “poles of light,” believers must show the “marvellous light” to the world, proving they are a “holy nation, a peculiar people”.
Standing Complete in Christ Amidst Spiritual Warfare
Central Spiritual Truth: To influence a society ruled by principalities and powers, the believer must be “complete in Him” and operate by the Spirit rather than human intellect.
- Colossians 2:6-10 exhorts: “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith”. In Christ “dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,” and you are “complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”.
- You cannot change society using human power because you are dealing with spirits that dictate alcoholism, prostitution, and corruption. If you are not standing firmly in Christ, the very powers ruling those environments will pull you down.
- True witnessing is not a “recitation” of repeated words but the actual manifestation of Christ through you. This is illustrated by preaching in dangerous places like Tamale, where soldiers and spiritual “missiles” could not touch the one standing in Christ’s power.
- When faced with challenges—like the power being cut during a crusade or people throwing stones—the Christ in you rises to the occasion to disarm the opposition. He has promised that the Holy Spirit will speak for you when you are confronted or arrested by the spirits of this world.
- Others will take notice of the Christ in you even without you saying a word, as seen when classmates and strangers recognized a “different realm” during a simple funeral service. Submit in all humility and allow Him to glorify Himself, so that people see it is Christ speaking and not you.
Call to Action
- Exhortation: Do not confine Christ to your chest; allow Him to take over your mind, conduct, and language so that you become a “strange animal” that draws people to the secret of your faith.
- Prayer: Thank the Father for the opportunity to be an agent of change and ask that His purpose be fulfilled through you as you make yourself available.
- Specific Task: Take your salvation seriously by recognizing that you are the appointed person at this hour to influence your family, your marketplace, and your nation.
