SCRIPTURE: JOHN 1: 1-10
WEDNESDAY EVENING TALK BY REV. ABLORH- 1991

SYNOPSIS: This sermon reveals Christ as the Incarnated Creator, urging listeners to
surrender their pride and behold His hidden majesty.

Jesus Christ the incarnated God was clothed with flesh and lived on this earth. There is
one unique thing about Him you must know and even that, unless it is revealed unto you
by the Holy Spirit, you will believe that you are in the Christian realms alright and you will
never have any change in anywhere. Now I know very perfectly well that it will not be the
eloquent way of presenting this topic to you but by the more you open up your inner heart,
you will really know who Jesus Christ, the son of the living God is.
Now there are four gospels called the Synoptic Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
The 1st three writers had a similar way in presenting their word but that of John was
different and unique altogether. He also wrote more about bread and water simply
because he had a vision from Jehovah God Almighty, and who Jesus the Christ is. Now
there were two people who made proclamation about Jesus and one of them was the
church.
But before the church can do that, she must know who really Jesus is. John wrote a
similar note as that of Peter that “some standing here would not see death till the
Kingdom of God comes and some will see the Kingdom before they would die.” Jesus
explained this to them through the transfiguration, how He was glorified, “Behold the
King,” (Mark 9: 2-8). It was these that some of the disciples saw and said, “we are not
telling you stories or mystery but what we have seen, heard, and witnessed, “His
Majesty”. Now do you want to see His Majesty? Behold the King!
Again John explained the beginning of creation in John 1: 1 that when there was nothing
on this world, he meant when the world was void and according to Genesis, the Bible
says God spoke His word and the galaxies of stars, billions of powerful light energy came
out from many miles away and even one of them, the solar energy beamed out so
powerfully that it even penetrated the depth of the oceans. So mighty was that spoken
Word and it can bring life to a dead plant, so powerful was “let there be light and there
was light.” (Gen. 1: 1-3)
The Bible says God commanded things into being, the sea, the mountains, the oceans
and many more things that would hold you very astonished to see the creative power and
work of God. Hebrews 11:2 says by faith we believed that everything that we see were all
made by the living God. That was all that we see on our planetary system, the creative
hand of God.
Now what is beyond that was said by Paul and that was in Colossians which reads “there
was nothing made which was not made by Him”. Colossians 1: 16-18; 2:9. Now how does
the spoken Word bring this planetary system into being?
This is why John was saying that, that Word was God that Word was Jehovah God Himself
that was the Incarnated God, Jesus Christ who became flesh and dwelt among them,
went to His own but they received Him not simply because they knew Him not.
The question is how can that Word become flesh, how can that Word become God? It’s
really amazing. How can God design certain things for example you and your eyes, nose,
your nature, age and everything that belongs to you to make you what you are. How can
God reduce you into a small simply egg, you and everything that you can think of.
It’s really amazing eye cannot see neither do the heart perceive and let alone the mind to
understand, to put all together into a small tube that will take large and larger
magnification in a microscope to see you, that small you and your fingers, your legs and
nose that you would be into that small tiny molecule.
This is what John was explaining, that is the God who created the world. This is what the
song writer saw and wrote a song saying, “when I looked at the heavens, the seas, and
the birds flying above, oh God, you are God.”
That creative God became miniature person and came into a village in Bethlehem and
spoke to a woman that the Saviour of the nations is in her womb and she shall give birth
to Him and His name shall be called Emmanuel meaning the Lord is with us (Luke 2).
She asked that how shall it be, it’s incredible! I really like that question, but it took the
Holy Spirit to do that. John said that was the word that became the flesh and dwelt among
us, lived on this planet earth that He Himself made. The Bible says He came to His own
but His own received Him not, He came in a small disguised form, He did not put on
anything but flesh and blood and when people saw Him they say ‘you Joseph’s son, we
know you and you always say I am from above and we from below.’ He said I am so small
as you say but I will do a thing which you cannot believe as referred to by Isaiah. Now you
see! I don’t want to miss His majesty as some did and so must you.
Some can be Christians so long a time but can miss His majesty. This incarnated God
came and many in Israel missed Him, the big men and the big religious men. After He is
dead and gone before these historians recollected that there was a time somebody
passed by as the Messiah. The historian missed Him that He has once walked on this
earth and even cannot recollect His birth, 33years after He is gone before they started to
reverse the book by saying AD Anno Domain and BC Before Christ, 70 years after.
Do not let Jesus come and go tonight, His own father being a religious man as he is known
to be nearly missed Him. Don’t be so blind, you know women have spiritual eyes that is
why when Mary greeted Elizabeth, she could say the mother of my Lord is here. It took
the Holy Spirit to reveal it to him or to discern who Jesus really was, that was Zechariah.
He almost missed His Majesty.
His disciples also nearly missed Him, for there was a time they asked Him, ‘show us the
Father and He answered, I and the Father are one’ and that beat their minds, the
Pharisees and the Theologians could not stand it. There was a time when an order from
Augustus the king to tax the whole city. During this time the one who made the beginning
and everything happened to be dwelling in a woman’s womb ready to be born and since
there was no place for them in the Inn they had to leave and seek refuge in manger, and
do you know?, he was told there were no places for people who ride on donkey, but
special people with money. He then answered and said, please sir I have a pregnant
woman with me who is ready to deliver, hastily he also said ‘hei man, you better go there’,
that was the donkey, what do you have,’ you better go into that manger, and that reminds
Peter’s saying that ‘silver and gold have I none’…….He also missed His majesty.
And even when the king was told of the birth of the son of the living God, instead of
worshipping Him with his heart, he rather visited them with the death of all males born
children, but you know, you cannot seek God in that manner unless you determine with
all your heart truthfully. You know, Pharaoh also missed Him, and that manger has
become a famous center, decorated with a big star and now big religious men visit there
every year. They have also missed Him if their visit to be there and not to seek after Him
truly.
So, there were some people from Far East and did listen to Daniel’s prophecy and until
one day they saw the star from the east and went to worship the newborn king. So must
you do tonight if you want to see His Majesty.
So was Neman who thought the Pharisees because of their religious knowledge could
help him in getting into the pool for his healing rather to his surprise he stayed there for
38 good years without any help till he was asked to put out all his military garment and
even the inner shirt and then dive into the dirty pool for 7 times. So you must also yield to
Him if you want to behold Him as King. “He said oh master as for dirty pools I’ve got a lot
in my hometown.” Do you want to see His Majesty? Then open up your eyes and heart
tonight, don’t let Jesus pass by you. He nearly missed Him if he was to disobey his
instructions.
Again, there were some faithful disciples who went to Emus, they have hope in Him
alright as the Son of the living God but did not really know Him so Jesus has to open their
eyes before they could see, that is what you also need tonight. Another was Gamaliel, he
was well versed in the Bible, he can even recite it up and down just like that and yet he
needs to be thought to really understand what he has been reciting and so was Paul and
his conversion.
The Light which lightens everything, the light that darkness could not comprehend
appeared to him and that was what changed Paul totally, His Majesty was seen by Paul
that is why he said I know Him, I saw Him and that was the reason why I am not telling
you stories but what I have actually seen and witnessed. During that time the Pharisees
and the Theologians were so strong that even if you can speak in tongues, they can
change your mind.
The disciples were in hiding during those times because they had no Theologians to
support them, they were shallow minded in the word. Do not miss His Majesty. So was
the death of Lazarus and his resurrection, Mary, Martha and Lazarus were close friends
to Jesus, He visits them all the time and did many miracles. One day He was told Lazarus
was sick and He did not visit them till he died.
When He appeared, He was told Master, Rabbi, Good Teacher, we know you are the
Rabbi, yet you don’t’ provide good evidence and now prove to us your identity. He said
unto them “I am the resurrection and the life he who believes in Me will live”. They were
in doubt as they have not actually known Him as the Messiah so they still said they knew
that when the Messiah appears that would be done perfectly and He again told them “But
I told you I am the resurrection and the life, if you believe though you die you will live.” He
then asked the woman to show Him the grave, but she still said, sir the body is rotten.
I tell you they were close friends to Jesus and yet missed His Majesty. I tell you the Word
that was in the beginning walked on this planet and there was nothing which could stop
Him from doing anything, even the grave could not burry Him, the leprosy disease was
not too much for Him and the blind was quick to see. Fancy a Toyota Car producer who
meets a broken car on a way and stopped to help and then the car owner said just get me
a mechanic and later find out that the man was the maker of the Toyota itself. What do
you think the car owner will say?
That is how it is when Jesus told the Pharisees that He can destroy the temple and raise
it in three days, here they said He is blaspheming in that David and Solomon took years
to complete that simple temple. Why should He a mere carpenter’s son tell them He can
put it up in three days? They missed Him because they could not discern that the maker
Himself was the one standing before them. Jesus told them that one day the Queen of
the south will judge and condemn them because when she heard about the wisdom of
Solomon she journeyed from far Ethiopia to listen to him and let alone the one greater
than Solomon standing in front of them full of wisdom, in Him dwelleth the fullness of
Godhead bodily and don’t want to listen to Him.
People with PHDs don’t want to listen to wisdom from above and so He hid Himself from
them and only few gave ears to Him e.g. the Samaritan woman at the well. When she met
Jesus, she forgot about the immediate thing she went in for and so it is if you meet Him.
Imagine you are in your car with your wife, and you happened to meet Chairman and said
you should give him a ride, you will quickly tell your wife, honey kindly get down and let
me alight him first. So did Jesus say, “if you know who is asking you for water you will
quickly give him and even ask for a living water.’ Jesus quickly unveiled Himself to her
and told her about her past life and immediately she was transformed, there she forgot
about everything and did not need the water she came for, a thousand to make her happy.
That is how it is when you meet Jesus, you will stop saying I can’t go to these meeting, it
is becoming too much, bells should be rang many times before going to church or giving
a lot of excuses about your business and many others.
You will quickly follow Him and will forget about your tax business like Matthew, you will
quickly follow Him and forget about you father’s canoe and net, like as the disciples said
to John the Baptist, will say I have now got a Master and when people ask you, you will
say as John, let him increase that I may decrease. You have not seen Him yet, that is why
you still drag your feet up and down when you are asked to come to church meetings and
Holy Spirit conference.
The Bible says there was a certain man and a woman by the name Zechariah and
Elizabeth who God took a long time to prepare them for a son who went about
proclaiming the coming of the Messiah. Zechariah means faithful and Elizabeth, God is
hopeful, that is God does not break His vow. He is a covenant keeper.
Don’t be looking for Jesus in big things as a big king in a big palace else you will miss Him.
He came in simplicity, that is why the owner of the inn could not recognise Him. He was
seen in a manger.
One day He healed ten lepers and two out of them came to thank Him. One was cleansed
and made whole totally, but the other had his body cleanse only and was happy, went to
town to show his baby-like body while the other leper had his spiritual healing, that was
his mind, body and spirit.
Jesus said I have come that they might have life and have it abundantly, that means
healing in its totality when you meet Him and touches you. He realized that Jesus was the
Messiah and His quality of healing knows no limitations. It ranges from all angles be it
financially, physically, mentally or bodily. Life abundantly in the Greek language means
“Zoo ell”, that is the highest quality of life. Don’t miss Him, behold your King. His royal
kingship is found in Rev. 1, His white hair stands for His eternity, His feet which is like fine
brass burning in a furnace fire stands for His authority to put Satan under His feet.
Hebrews talks about His Melchisedek Priesthood. Now behold your king and embrace
Him.
