THEME: FOR GOD’S BLESSING, AMERICA MUST PRAY FOR AND PURSUE WORLD PEACE 

America please pray, work for and pursue peace in the world. May God bless America if she does so 

The assumption of office of President George W. Bush as President of the great and noble nation and people of the United States of America the land of Trust in God, Freedom and Liberty, Democracy and Political Stability, and Dreams of Glory for the human race has met with challenges to the efficacy, reliability and stability of Americas institutions ranging from the electoral process, the legal and judicial systems, the economic and military establishments and corporate America to and above all, the Confidence, Trust and Hope of the American people in Government and Nation. 

In short, America is facing challenges to internal peace, stability and trust and the American dream as well as her standing as the Superpower of the global village world order. As the Bible of the Christian Church will put it, everything that ought to be shaken is being shaken in the USA (Haggai 2:6-7; Hebrew 12:26-27). In this connection, the September 11, (2001) incident have hit at three major pillars of the American political economy, namely, the Economic, the Military and the Government (political) establishments. 

The follow up anthrax, Afghanistan War and Erron episodes and the general uncertainty in the US economy highlight and enforce our humble submission that there is a shaking of the American political economy and the hearts, minds and motivations of the governments and peoples of America. It is obvious in this regard that it is not only the competence of President Bush and his Presidential Establishment but also the Political and Economic Establishments in Washington in particular and the nation as a whole that are under test. 

The arena of this shaking and test is the world, the Global Political Economy and Human Cause of which the United States of America would want to lead and be accepted as such and honored accordingly.  Will America emerge strong, confident and trustworthy as a Leader in the affairs of the human race and with it the divine order and purposes on earth? It is not surprising therefore that President Bush – Saddham Hussein episode is generating so much furore around the globe. In this regard, it can be said without contradiction that if America presses the issue to the extent of pre-emptive strike at Iraq, America will not only be selling her birthright and forfeit the glory given her by God in whom she trusts, she will be establishing herself and gain notoriety as a war-mongering and power-drunk super power.  

May we humbly submit therefore that if America will retain and enhance her standing and glory as a Land of Liberty and Dreams and receive recognition and honor as Super Power in the new world order of the global village, America will need to be a true champion of Peace, Righteousness and Justice, Freedom and Liberty, the dignity of man and sacredness of life as ordained by The Creator according to the Christian scriptures. America would need to cherish her history and position as a Christian nation. Then shall the isles rejoice, sing the praise and pray for America. 

It is growing increasingly apparent however that instead of this glorious God-Honoring God-Glorifying position, as a leading Christian Nation, America the Beautiful Land of Liberty, Democracy and Dreams seem to be under siege, being maneuvered as it were towards the Waters of the Sea of Torrents. For example, instead of calm and godly response to the Divine Shakings, America seems to be finding herself incapable of honoring God and His Kingdom of Peace and goodwill on earth and the scepter of Righteousness. 

America under President George W. Bush seems to be turning the Divine grace and glory of a Godly Nation and Divine Chosen Superpower into a domineering, oppressive warring nation, with disrespect to law and disregard to the sacredness of life and sanity. For example, instead of humility and repentance in the face of September 11, and sincere search and analysis of the causes of same for redress and healing, America has declared war against a political movement, and in the trail occupying and bringing a nation and her people under subjection, threatening others.  The “Evil Axe” concept is a sabre for sabre driving machine that can send the world into flames. 

Again, instead of a war sanctioned by the United Nations to liberate a nation and people threatened with occupation and subjection such as the case of the Gulf War America is now poised for the overthrow and destabilization of governments and nation on the obvious grounds that no nation other than the United States of America and those approved by her has the right to nuclear arms and weapons of mass destruction. There is no saying the immorality and unrighteousness, impropriety and injustice and the illegitimacy of the new position and claim of America the One Superpower of the New World Order of the global village.  This claim cannot be accepted by even small dependent nations.  

May we humbly submit in this regard that America’s response to the divine shaking we mentioned earlier should be Humility, Repentance and Return to the Divine Order of Peace and Goodwill on Earth, Righteousness and Justice in society in the Knowledge and Fear of God adhered to and upheld by the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. In this regard, The United States must lead the world in disarmament, in the dismantling of nuclear arms and weapons of mass destruction and in strengthening the United Nations in her efforts as the Agency of WORLD PEACE, the Defender of Poor, Weak and Suffering Nations and Peoples of the world and Champion of The Order Of Goodwill and Human Brotherliness on Earth.  

Let America set example by the destruction of her Nuclear Arms and Weapons of Mass Destruction, then she will have moral courage to appeal to other nations to follow suit.  

Therein lies the Way of Peace and Goodwill on Earth, and the cessation of Nuclear Arms and Dismantling of Weapons of Mass Destruction in the world.  In that also will the United States of America receive the toast of children yet unborn and the Blessings of God. 

We are confident that America has the Spirit, Capacity and Strength to lead the world in change from war to peace, from Death and Human Shame to Life, Human Dignity and Glory in the Image of God.
