RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION BUT SIN, CORRUPTION, AND EVIL DESTROY NATIONS

Series:

THEME: THE PILLARS OF NATIONAL SURVIVAL: RIGHTEOUSNESS VS. THE EROSION OF CORRUPTION

We salute the reading public and the entire people of Ghana in the Peace, Life, Liberty, Joy, and Hope in Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world.

We take liberty of our national common trust and hope in Jehovah God for the peace, progress, prosperity, and good of our country, to relate a message from the Most High God to the nation.  The message, given to His humble servant at dawn on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, pertains to the spiritual and social state of the country.

Thus says the Lord God Most High:

“Corruption and corrupt government breed corrupt economy.  Corrupt economy drifts nations into destruction.” The Lord further added that the Soviet Union, in her heyday, was eroded by corruption and corrupt government. This created a corrupt political economy, and as a result, the Soviet Union fell.

In this regard, and before opening further discussions on the matter, we provide below a few Scriptures from the Christian Bible to assist reflection, meditation, and discussion on the message:

“He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoreth him hath mercy on the poor. Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14: 31, 34 KJV)

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29: 2 KJV)

“The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it. A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth a net for his feet.” (Proverbs 29: 4-5 KJV)

“The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.” (Proverbs 29: 7-8, 10 KJV)

In interpretation, the scriptures declare that righteousness is the key to building a peaceful, progressive nation and happy people. Conversely, sin, unrighteousness, oppression, and wickedness bring disaster and woes to nations and peoples. Thus, kings and governments should build and govern nations in righteousness and justice. Unrighteous, oppressive, and wicked governments bring woes and mourning. Corrupt governments breed scoffers, bad governance, and corrupt economy that leads to disaster and destruction. It may be adduced that the Lord’s message, in a time of developments and circumstances such as ours is raising attention to the fact that our dear nation is drifting into dangerous waters—waters flowing rapidly and swiftly, sliding the nation downhill due to ravaging corruption in the land. To be precise, God is warning that our country is heading towards destruction due to corruption and threatening corrupt government.  Such was the case, says the Lord, for the fall of the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Union was a world power with rich human and physical resources, well advanced in science and technology, yet it fell. Now, the pride and glory of the Soviet Union and the entire Soviet economy was built and hinged upon military might—men, machines, and weapons of war.  The truth, nonetheless, is that Soviet military might did not and could not stop the decay and consequential destruction and collapse of the Soviet economy and the Soviet Union as a whole.

Besides and above all, the spiritual and philosophical base of the Soviet political economy was atheistic in content and practice. The Soviet “State God” could not stop the decay, fall, and destruction of the Union. That is to say, the rejection of God, the knowledge and worship of Him, ate deep into the human souls, moral fiber, and soul of the Union. In short, atheism, corruption, heavy political authority, and corrupt governance created a spiritual malaise—a social order of darkness, death, decay, and hopelessness for the nations and people of the Union.

We are persuaded that it is here that the Most High God would want us as nations, people, government, leadership, and elders to consider the danger into which corruption and corrupt government is creating a corrupt economy which in the end might not just stop the forward march of the country but will actually destroy it. Ghana’s economy, human resource, physical base, technological advancement, and growth are nothing to be compared to the Soviet Union in her power, dominion, and glory.

People of God, Ghana cannot afford the swift and rapid growth of corruption and corrupt government threatening and turning our country into a corrupt economy with rising millions of unrighteous, immoral, corrupt, and unjust ways in politics, governance, public administration, and services. National, state, and public institutions and the public services in general, including business, education, and professional practice have all been overwhelmed, eroded, and overtaken by corruption and corrupt government, unrighteous, unjust, immoral, and wicked ways. There is no shame, no concern when Ministers of State, Ministers of the Church, and public servants lie, steal, and run away with impunity with public funds, church, state, and national assets.

It seems it is now acceptable and indeed fashionable for Ministers of State, Legislators, and public servants to lie, make false declarations, and present wrong data (statistics) for state policy and public debate. Yet, such behavior is in its true sense corrupt, immoral, and dangerous for the public good and public weal, social and national progress as a whole. It is the culmination of such behavior patterns of immorality, falsehood, secret deals, corrupt ways, unrighteousness, injustice, wickedness, murder, and crime that breed corruption, false standards, and seeds of decay and destruction.

May we add here that lies, falsehood, and wrong data are as much dangerous to national development and progress as robbery and thievery of public funds through inflated costs, orchestrated and organized kick-backs and transfer of public funds and resources into private pockets, political party funds, rogue vested interest ventures and recklessness in leadership and management. It is the combined effect of lies and falsehood, corruption, immorality, unrighteous, unjust, perverse, and wicked conduct that erode the moral fiber, soundness of spirit and mind, stability, and soul of nations and their peoples leading ultimately to decay and destruction.

Where there is no knowledge of God, truth, righteousness, obedience, and faithfulness in conduct and life, there will be no spiritual and moral restraint to the ‘beast’ within fallen man. It is the rejection of God, the knowledge of Him, and His truth that liberates and delivers from satanic deception and control of both spiritual and social order that prompts and intensifies Divine Judgement written into sinful fallen human nature and life.  “The soul that sins shall die” says the Lord. God’s will, law, pronouncements, and judgements will always and ultimately prevail and take its due toll on peoples and nations.

It is a sad commentary in this respect that even though Christianity and Religious Faiths have spread quite far and abound in the country, yet corruption, fraud, greed, unrighteous, unjust, and wicked ways have risen in ascendancy in conduct and lifestyle, in politics and government, in business and professions in the nation. Indeed, religion and politics in Ghana have been eroded by the bizzare orchestrated and controlled by Satan and wicked men. Church and religious leaders, state, and government ministers, public servants, and all have abandoned truth and honesty, godliness, righteousness, human kindness, and goodwill. Many have yielded because of desire for gain and vain glory.

The unequivocal truth is that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  May the Lord help us so righteousness, truth, and honesty will arise, spread, and flourish in our land.

GOD. PLEASE HAVE MERCY and SAVE GHANA from Satan. Deliver us from evil men and spirits, and keep us safe in your peace, goodness, and mercy less we perish.  Amen!
