THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE NEW LIFE

Series:

SERMON INSIGHT

The Coming of the Holy Spirit and the Church Mission

Beloved, great is the holy word. We are at a stage of human history where darkness has followed even into the church, and the world is reeling to and fro without hope but the one who first said “let there be” has appeared once again, and today his word is, “Let it be as I ordered it to be at the beginning”. This is the will of the Father to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Our humble efforts are to give hope to creation.

We were led to discuss the Holy Spirit, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and why the coming. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, knowing the challenges that awaited His people, asked them to wait till the Holy Spirit comes. Jesus declared, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it”.

He knew about the close-knit, centuries-old knot of Satanic rebellion and Adam and Eve’s disobedience, which had combined to possess the earth. Jesus came to untie this knot. He gave the church the keys to heaven, saying, “whatever is bound on earth, shall be bound away in heaven and whatever the church loses on earth, shall be loosed in heaven”. This authority was left with the church to undertake necessary transactions.

Nevertheless, He instructed them to “wait till the Holy Spirit comes”. The Holy Spirit is the bond of unity between heaven and earth. The church’s mission is now Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the redeemed man in action. A human being alone, or a human organization alone, cannot take on the name church.

The church itself is an institution where everyone who is saved enters a school to deal with divine eternal issues. A mortal man, redeemed, born anew, and blessed with the presence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, can now speak heavenly language and commune with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has come to make this possible.

The church mission is a three-tier movement, yet one movement:

  1. Jesus Christ, the Savior, Redeemer, King, and Judge.
  2. The Holy Spirit, who receives from Christ and the Father and gives to the church.
  3. The Church (redeemed man).

These three form what we can call a triangle. The church cannot go anywhere without the Holy Spirit. The new movement is a spiritual movement, and mortal man, born again, is turned into a divine spiritual person.

The ultimate goal for everyone in the church is to grow to be a perfect man and a perfect servant and to put on the fullness of the stature of Christ.

The Need for Sanctification in Ministry

The standing of the church is based on the accreditation of Jesus Christ and sanctification by the Spirit. Therefore, any ministry must have that sanctification in the Holy Spirit. Jesus prayed, “Father, I want you to sanctify them. This was so that they also “shall be sanctified by the truth” , and the Holy Spirit is the dispenser of the truth.

A ministry can be a position in a church, a mission assignment, or an assignment given to you personally by the Father and the Lord. No ministry can go without the sanctification, the accreditation, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in the mission. Every ministry needs to be connected with Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Father.

To operate in the garment of God’s work, you need the accreditation of Jesus Christ and the grace of the Holy Spirit. When you enter the realm of speaking their language and conversing with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are walking on a divine supernatural highway.

The Call to the New Creation

You are no more your own anymore. Jesus said if you want to be His disciple, the first thing is to die to yourself. The old person must have died. If you love this life, you will die, but if you reject this life, then you will enter into life eternally.

The church is a new educational institution, and when you come to Christ, you are a new creation. We must forget the old human order, like being a “Fante” or from “Nyankpala,” and become a member of the church: one body, one spirit, one God, one faith. We must speak the same language as Christians. The church has difficulties because we have not broken loose from our old connections.

The Individual and the Holy Spirit

We are to consider ourselves not just as a church group or ministry members, but as individuals called by God.

It is imperative that you know that you are a new creation and that you, as an individual, need the Holy Spirit.

  1. The Father calls us.
  2. Jesus Christ receives us, forgives, washes, and baptizes us, creating a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
  3. The Holy Spirit knows you as belonging to Christ and part of the body.

It is impossible to do God’s work with your previous stature, knowledge, or culture. Christ is the baptizer. This baptism can be quiet or in a commotion. It can be at home, driving, working, or in the kitchen. When you are yearning, Christ will baptize you.

We are talking about you standing in the fullness, the completeness of a child of God, born anew, baptized by the Holy Spirit, and filled with the Holy Ghost for God’s eternal glory. The gifts of the Holy Spirit, like prayer, prophecy, or vision, are systems that alone can be deepened, expanded. If you have the gift of prophecy but have never prophesied, you are not exercising the faith. Give yourself a chance.

May the church reviver, end time reviver who starts with you continue till the Father returns. Amen.

God bless you
