THE HOLY SPIRIT AS A POWER SYSTEM

Series:

SERMON INSIGHT

The Father as the Architect of the Redemption Enterprise

Central Spiritual Truth: The mission of the Church is a divine enterprise initiated and sustained by the Father’s love and humility.

  • The Source of Love: The speaker highlights that the “whole enterprise is the Father,” reminding the congregation that “the Father so loved the world” that He chose to release Himself in the dimension of the Son.
  • The Humility of God: God humbled Himself in a “particle of clay” (humanity) to identify with man and become the “champion of our salvation.”
  • The Father’s Friendship: The speaker shares a personal revelation that the Father is not a distant judge but a “friend,” stating, “I the Father am your friend, your Father and your friend.”
  • Scriptural Anchor: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

The Holy Spirit: The Governing Alternative to Human Logic

Central Spiritual Truth:The Holy Spirit was sent to prevent the Church from being governed by human committees and to establish divine administration.

  • The School of the Church: The Church is defined as an “institution” and a “school” where people learn to operate as those “found by God.”
  • Prevention of Human Control: The speaker argues that without the descent of the Spirit on Pentecost, the early believers “would have formed committees upon committees” to decide the Church’s direction based on human ways.
  • The Spirit of Truth: The Holy Spirit serves as the “companion and friend” who ensures the Church remains standing in the truth rather than in the possession of material things.

The Superiority of the Internal Power System

Central Spiritual Truth: The power dwelling within the believer is greater than any earthly kingdom or satanic claim.

  • The Greater One: The speaker offers a strong assurance: “he that is in us is greater, greater, greater.”
  • Challenging Lucifer’s Claim: Addressing the idea that the kingdoms of the world belong to the enemy, the speaker asks, “how about the one who created them in the first place?”
  • Beyond Materialism: A warning is issued that “life does not consist of what a man possesses.” The church’s life is found in the Spirit, not in its buildings or riches.
  • The Yardstick of Truth: Believers are cautioned not to “examine somebody” else but to “find out whether you are standing away in the truth.”
  • Scriptural Anchor: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.
  •  “For a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Luke 12:15.

The Triune Partnership in the Believer’s Journey

Central Spiritual Truth: The believer is surrounded by a divine support system consisting of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • The Threefold Friendship: The speaker outlines the believer’s spiritual support: Jesus Christ is the “brother and friend,” the Holy Spirit is the “companion and friend,” and the Father is the “Father and friend.”
  • Fifty Years of Service: Reflecting on “50 to 60 years serving him,” the speaker testifies to the enduring nature of this divine partnership.
  • The Immutability of God: The speaker concludes with the declaration of God’s unchanging nature: “I am the Lord… I change not.”
  • Scriptural Anchor: “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6.

Exhortations, Prayers, and Calls to Action

  • Be Very Careful: The speaker warns the congregation to be “very careful” not to judge the life of a church or an individual by their material possessions.
  • Check Your Standing: “Find out whether you are standing in the truth. That’s all.”
  • Assurance of Victory: The congregation is exhorted to remember that the Creator’s authority over the kingdoms of the world is absolute.
