THE HOLY SPIRIT, CHURCH MISSION & MINISTRY
SERMON INSIGHTS
THE CRISIS OF THE HUMAN RACE AND THE NEED FOR DIVINE INTERVENTION
Central Spiritual Truth: Human history is marked by a cycle of instability and rebellion that can only be interrupted by the sovereign redemptive power of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The human race is currently facing a severe hour of crisis, characterized by time wars, instability, and a pervasive sense of hopelessness.
- Even the catastrophic judgment of Noah’s Ark did not stop fallen man from committing abominable sins or acting as if they were a power unto themselves.
- Despite two thousand years of demonstrated love and the remission of sin, the modern church often appears bewildered and confused.
- We must visit the covenant which Jesus Christ made for human redemption to understand the open doors of divine intention toward creation.
- You are sitting here as specially chosen vessels whom the Lord Himself has called to address this specific hour of crisis.
- Scripture Reference: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
THE CONCEPT OF SPIRITUAL NETWORKING AND PERSONAL CALLING
Central Spiritual Truth: Every believer is part of a deliberate divine arrangement where the Father and the Son orchestrate specific placements to fulfill the mission of the church.
- Church mission and ministry are not random; they are a form of “spiritual networking” directed by the Father and Jesus Christ.
- Only the Father knows the full direction of why you were called, why you were sent here, and why you are in a particular group.
- It is your responsibility to find out where you belong within this general context to fulfill your personal calling.
- The ultimate goal of this networking is for the Father to build the church in the knowledge of the Son until we reach full maturity.
- We have dedicated our lives to the Father’s will, which has provided us with an open door to enter into His purposes.
- Scripture Reference: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” Ephesians 4:11-12.
THE NECESSITY OF THE NEW BIRTH AND SPIRITUAL BAPTISM
Central Spiritual Truth: Spiritual truths remain a “strange language” to the believer unless they are born again and baptized by the Holy Spirit.
- There is a divine requirement for entry into these spiritual realities: first, you must be born again.
- Second, you must be baptized by the Holy Spirit, for without this baptism, you cannot truly see or perceive these divine things.
- Without the Spirit’s illumination, the message of the kingdom sounds like foolishness to the human mind.
- Human beings sitting down and doing what they think is good for their fellow man is “nonsense” compared to the Father’s spiritual plan.
- The journey of faith is a specific path—a “Journey that requires the guidance of Jesus Christ to navigate successfully.
- Scripture Reference: “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
Exhortations, Prayers, and Calls to Action
- Call to Surrender: I am tempted, and rightly so, to urge us to re-surrender our lives to God the Father and revisit the covenant of Jesus Christ.
- Exhortation to Discovery: You should be able to find out where you belong in the spiritual networking so you can fulfill your personal call.
- Command for Baptism: Make sure you are born again and make sure you are baptized by the Holy Spirit so you can see the things of God.
- Final Charge: Dedicate your life to the Father’s will. Let every knee bow, because the journey we are on is for sure and directed by the Father Himself. Amen.
