THE NEW LIFE

Series:

SERMON INSIGHTS

The Nature of the High Calling

Central Spiritual Truth: The invitation from God is a heavenly summons to participate in His eternal life and divine glory.

  • This invitation is a high calling that far exceeds any earthly position or worldly title you could ever strive for in this life. It is an extension of God’s own nature, inviting you to become one with Him and share in His character.
  • The church has unfortunately drifted from this heavenly agenda, losing sight of the original purpose for which it was established. You are being called to remember this divine focus and return to the primary mission of reflecting God’s glory.
  • This calling is not about seeking a worldly status but about answering a spiritual summons that transforms your entire existence. By accepting this invitation, you are stepping into a position of authority that is recognized in the heavens.
  • You must realize that the two essential elements of this invitation are life and glory, which are provided through Christ alone. Without these, any religious activity is hollow and lacks the power to fulfill God’s ultimate desire for His people.
  • Scripture Reference: “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14).

The Restoration of Lost Glory

Central Spiritual Truth: Through the new life in Christ, believers recover the spiritual radiance and authority that humanity lost.

  • Mankind was originally created to walk in a state of glory, but that radiance was stripped away due to disobedience and sin. The new life is essentially a restoration project where God is putting His glory back upon those who answer His call.
  • This restored glory is not based on human understanding, expectation, or the perceptions of the society around you. It is a divine conferment that marks you as a child of the King, set apart for His specific holy use.
  • To walk in this glory, you must have the spirit of patience to endure until your spiritual reality is fully revealed to the world. Often, the glory is hidden from the natural eye, but it is a present reality for those who walk by faith.
  • The Lord is reminding the church that its identity is found in this restored state rather than in following the patterns of the world. You are called to be a living testimony of what it means to be brought back into the favor and light of the Father.
  • Scripture Reference: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

Discerning True Leadership from Worldly Manipulation

Central Spiritual Truth: Those who enter leadership through corruption or theft are robbers, while the true leaders enter through the door of God’s will.

  • There is a clear distinction between those who enter by the door and those who try to climb up some other way as thieves and robbers. True victory is not achieved through bribery, theft, or the manipulation of people for personal gain.
  • We see examples in world politics, such as the challenges involving figures like Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, where systems are often hijacked. These worldly maneuvers are viewed from a divine perspective as corrupt “coups d’état” against the interests of the people.
  • If a leader wins an election through dishonest means, they are not a true winner in the eyes of God, regardless of what the newspapers say. You must not follow public opinion but instead seek the will and purpose of the God who leads the nation.
  • Even if we are few and the world seems to favor those who use manipulation, we are the true winners if we remain in God’s will. Our success is measured by our alignment with the truth rather than the temporary boasting of those who steal their positions.
  • Scripture Reference: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1).

 Exhortations and Calls to Action

Central Spiritual Truth: You must actively separate yourself from worldly corruption to walk in the fullness of the new life.

  • Accept the Invitation: I urge you to receive the Word of God today and embrace the high calling that has been extended to your soul.
  • Seek God’s Will: When you observe the noise of political elections, do not be swayed by media but ask for the spirit of discernment to know God’s purpose.
  • Practice Patience: Ask the Lord for the spirit of patience so that you can endure the trials of this life until your heavenly glory is made manifest.
  • Enter by the Door: Commit to living with total integrity, ensuring that you never seek success through shortcuts, bribery, or theft.
  • Pray for Understanding: Let us pray that the Lord gives us a deep understanding of this new life so we do not drift away like much of the modern church.
  • Scripture Reference: “But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.” (John 10:2).

Closing Prayer of Affirmation

Central Spiritual Truth: Divine understanding is the key to remaining steadfast in the purpose for which we are called.

  • We thank You, Lord, for the high calling and the invitation to share in Your nature and Your glory. We pray that You grant us the understanding to recognize the difference between Your truth and the manipulations of the world.
  • Help us to walk as true shepherds and faithful children who enter only by the door of Your righteousness. We ask for the strength to endure and the spirit of patience to wait for the full revelation of the new life You have given us.
  • Scripture Reference: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10).
