THE SURPASSING LOVE OF GOD
SERMON INSIGHTS
The Limitless Power of Divine Intervention
Central Spiritual Truth: God’s power is not restricted by human impossibility or the lack of physical resources.
- You must remember that the Lord is still working today just as He did in the days of Elijah, Ezekiel, and Moses. When Elijah spoke, fire descended from heaven, and when Moses stretched out his hand, the sea parted for the people to walk on dry ground.
- Even when you feel silenced by hardship or sickness, divine power can restore your voice and your hope. The Lord has declared that the sick shall speak and their silences will be ended by His sovereign authority.
- The transition from dry bones to a mighty army through Ezekiel’s prophecy serves as a permanent illustration of what God can do with what appears to be dead. There is nothing that God cannot do when His people align their hearts with His specific word.
- We must not view our current challenges as a sign of God’s absence, but as an opportunity for His power to be made manifest.
- Scripture Reference: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27).
The Necessity of Heartfelt Devotion and Unity
Central Spiritual Truth: Spiritual breakthroughs occur when the community gives their hearts fully to God rather than focusing on outward appearances.
- You are being called to rise above the routine of worship and engage in a powerful confession of faith through your songs and prayers. When we stand together and ask God for the resources to build, we must do so with a conviction that it will actually happen.
- Many have passed through this house and gone on to build large churches elsewhere, but our focus must remain on our collective faithfulness here. Our strength is not found in numbers but in the quality of our surrender to the Lord’s purposes.
- Let us not be passive or idle but let us rise and proclaim the greatness of our God with every breath we have. The seriousness of what God is doing requires us to be spiritually alert and active in every gathering.
- Scripture Reference: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5).
The Prophetic Mandate from the Mountaintop
Central Spiritual Truth: God positions His servants in high places so that His word can carry authority over the valleys of human experience.
- I recall being taken to the mountains of California, where the road was so steep and treacherous that even a powerful BMW could hardly go further. Standing there, looking down into the deep valley, I remembered the Lord’s promise to take me to the heights so I could speak.
- When you speak from the mountaintop, the valleys representing the nations and the world must hear the declaration of the Lord. This was a divine mystery and a prophetic act intended to carry the voice of truth beyond a single location.
- The same God who created the treacherous mountains also created the valleys, and He is the one who directs our steps through both. My presence on that height was an act of obedience to a specific command to speak over the nation and the world.
- You must understand that my voice carries authority because it is rooted in the confession of what God has instructed me to say. This sharing is not for your applause, but to help you realize the weight of the mission we are part of.
- Scripture Reference: “Get thee up into the high mountain; O Zion, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!” (Isaiah 40:9).
Exhortations and Calls to Action
Central Spiritual Truth: Active faith and vocal confession are the keys to witnessing the manifestation of God’s love.
- Give Your Heart: Stop holding back and offer your heart fully to God so that the resources for our mission can be realized.
- Be Spiritually Alert: Reject passivity and remain vigilant in your worship, recognizing that our gatherings are not ordinary but powerful spiritual events.
- Speak the Word: Follow the example of the prophets and speak life into your hardships, trusting that God’s power will part your “seas” and bring fire to your “altars.”
- Stand Together: Let us remain united in our request for a permanent place of worship, refusing to be discouraged by those who mock our current state.
- Rise and Proclaim: Stand on your feet and declare the greatness of God, making your life a constant confession of His unconditional love.
- Scripture Reference: “But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29).
Closing Prayer of Confession
Central Spiritual Truth: Acknowledging God’s sovereignty in the presence of the community establishes a foundation for future victories.
- We stand before You tonight, acknowledging that You are the God of the mountains and the God of the valleys. We thank You for the love that surpasses all our worries and for the power that is currently working in our midst.
- We ask that You receive the confession of our hearts as we rise to praise Your name. Let Your word go forth from this house to the ends of the earth, bringing hope to the hopeless and strength to the weary.
- Scripture Reference: “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17).
