THE VOICE OF GOD

Series:

THEME: THE SUPREMACY OF THE SON OVER THE VOICES OF MEN AND THE SPIRIT OF THE AGE

The Bible has made this clear and emphatic declaration: “And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.” (1st Timothy 3: 16).

The Living God, the Creator, has reduced Himself to the state and status of man—originally created in the image of God. This declaration points to JESUS CHRIST. The “Son Given” whose voice— when heard and believed — leads to salvation, the forgiveness of sins, healing, and deliverance. It provides redemption from the human fallen nature with its attendant condemnation and curses, resulting in the restoration of glory and eternal life. In Him is the open door of the Divine nature and true godliness to man.

As the Bible declares most profoundly John. 3: 16; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Both 1st Timothy 3: 16 and John 3: 16, points to a significant, non-disputable, and irrevocable truth about Jesus Christ:  HE IS THE SON OF GOD and the very Voice of God in the world, for the world. His voice—His teaching, declarations, exhortations, decrees, and works — is not of man; it is of God. Christ Jesus is God manifested as man. In this regard, His voice in fundamentally different from the voice of prophets or angels, who are merely messengers sent to bring words from the Creator to people. The Voice of Christ Jesus, on the other hand, is THE VOICE OF GOD Himself. Amen!

Indeed, the Bible presents Him as The Word of God, by whom, through whom, and for whom all creation —both in the heavenlies and on earth —exists (John 1:1-14; Colossians 1: 16-17). By Him and through Him, God reveals Himself:  His true nature, Spirit, mind, and ways, as well as His love and compassion. This stands up in sharp contrast to the ways of men, spirits, and powers with which many are familiar. Satan and his folks—spirits, gods, deities, and demons — exist only to deceive, rob, kill, and destroy. They possess no love nor compassion towards man, nor do they offer life or hope to a fallen, perishing, and dead world. But in and through Christ Jesus, men find, meet, know, and are reconciled with the true God. Through Him, they receive restoration of peace, fulfillment, perfection and glory in the True Divine Nature— a glory that was otherwise lost to man, originally created in the image of God.

It is with this in mind that the Spirit of the Lord has come upon me, the servant of God, to address the issue of The Voice of God for the benefit of the Christian church, the people of Ghana, and all believers throughout the world. For many spirits, powers, and principalities— many faiths, doctrines, and religions; many ideas, philosophies, principles, and theories — are being propagated and canvassed. Many ideas are being enforced through violence, the pen and sword, state decrees, laws, bombs, and guns; yet they fail to bring peace, tranquility, comfort, or hope. They cannot produce true development or progress to peoples and nations. Furthermore, they do not lead men, people or nations to the TRUE God, Jehovah, the Creator of heaven and earth, nor to the true destiny of man. Instead, nations and peoples labor and strife under the weight of these spirits and voices, without much comfort, life, liberty, and hope of the blessed hands, benevolence and providence of the Most High God.

Many churches, nations, peoples professing to be of God and of Christ, of the Christian faith and the Judeo-Christian order have fallen short of the true knowledge of Jesus Christ and the spiritual significance and reality of His Voice or the Word of Christ— His teachings, declarations, and decrees. The truth is that Christ Jesus is not merely a prophet, nor is He an angel bearing divine message with vision and prophecy which are but in part, limited in a sense.  He is the Son of God, possessing full authority and power as GOD over every issue. He does not ‘receive’ in order to declare; He speaks, declares, decrees, and establishes His own mind, which is, by definition, the mind of the Father. His voice is the eternal unchangeable voice of God the Creator. His true eternal word does not change with time, season, color, people, culture, geography, generation or age. His declarations are the eternal TRUTH and Light of the Creator— His words and promises are true, consistent, constant, unchangeable: in short, Yea and Amen. It is this unique nature of The Voice or Word of Christ as distinct from other voices, the voices of prophets or angels, men and spirits, religious faiths, teachings, doctrines, philosophers, scientists, medicine men and women that the Holy Bible brings to light in the book of Hebrews;

“God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His Glory and express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right Hand of the Majesty on high.  (Hebrews 1:1-3)

The declaration is this: Jesus Christ—though appearing and standing as a man—is the Son and Voice of God, holding a superior standing, credibility, name, and glory than angels, prophets, and all created beings (Hebrews 1: 4-14).

We have the privilege here to counsel the church, the people, and the government of Ghana— including our chiefs, political parties, and even fetish priest: Listen to, hear, understand, know, obey, respect, and honor the Word of Christ Jesus as the Voice of God. Do not treat His Word on the same level as the voices of prophets, angels, the gods. It is far above the reach of religious leaders, philosophers, scientists, the learned and ‘wise’ of the world, and the traditions of ancestors and living alike. For example, the sayings of Danquah and Kwame Nkrumah— along with the teachings and dictates of angels, demons, the dead, prophets and religious leaders, philosophers and scientists, revolutionary leaders, politicians, academics, and the learned—cannot be treated as being of any comparable standing, stature, or  impact with that of THE VOICE, THE SON OF GOD that is, the teachings and counsel, declarations, and decrees of Jesus Christ. No such person has spirit-power to bring their sayings to pass and establish them permanently. The words of Christ Jesus are spirit, life, and power.

To reject Christ, therefore, is to reject the Creator. To refuse or disregard His word is to reject God Himself and to wallow in death, ignominy, and the wrath of God and destruction. The Voice of Christ is the Voice of God. Praise the Lord!

It is here that the church, people in particular, and religious people in general, must be reminded: godliness demands belief, respect, obedience, and true identification with inculcation and integration into and honor of Jesus Christ the Son. For as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God, (John 1: 11-12).

Jesus Christ is the Voice and High Priest pertaining to the Knowledge and Worship of God. Godliness is to show forth Christ in spirit and doings in the flesh. It is not empty moral life, religious piety, or cultural sanctity.  People may feel pleased, comfortable, and content with the outward trappings of religion and life— the moral code and ancient values dictated by the voices of angels, prophets, gods, goddesses, and deities, religious leaders, the learned, and ‘wise’ of the ages. However, all of remains but an empty shell— a mere form of godliness. The judgment of God the Creator does not depend on these outward things.  Indeed, the world is judged— and will be judged— by the Words of Christ and by Christ Himself as judge, and whose Voice was, has been, is, and will ever be the same: yesterday, today, and forever. Christ Jesus: Son of God, Voice of God, High Priest, and Mediator, Saviour, and Redeemer, Messiah, God, King, and Lord—from eternity to eternity, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Christians, let us be grounded and rooted in Christ—His Voice, both written and spoken. Let us avoid being caught up in the trappings of religion, humanistic philosophies, and doctrines: forms of godliness that lack power, credibility, and strength. We have been delivered and redeemed from the wisdom of the world and the spirit of the age; let us not go back to the vomit. Above all, let us not teach, proclaim, or propagate the voice of men and spirits, nor the wisdom of this age, as if they were of God. To do so is dangerous—inimical to the saved and a deception to those who seek the truth.

O people of Ghana, the wisdom and counsel of the gods, ancestors, and the ‘wise’ of the age—along with the spiritual powers and cultural wisdom of the ancients—cannot bring us into the upper chambers, court, or presence of the Most High God. To put your trust in man is to court and perpetuate death and darkness.

Our fathers have practiced these things for generations to no avail. Such traditions have not succeeded in lifting us from the fears and drudgery of life, nor from the darkness, contempt, and captivity that gripped our ancestors when they propounded the wisdom and counsel handed over through the ages to them. We have remained captive to these forces for centuries. Only Christ Jesus can deliver and set free (Isaiah 61: 1-6; John. 8: 31-47; 10: 9-10).

The Voice of God that liberates, heal, and breaks the chains of darkness and death—delivering us from Satan, wickedness, destruction, and desolation—has appeared.  Christ is the Light that shatters and delivers us from darkness. This deliverance is freely accessible in and through Jesus Christ.

Ghana, behold the Son, Voice, and High Priest of God. He is God, King, and Lord of the universe: Jesus Christ. In Him alone is Life, Light, Liberty, Victory, and Eternal Joy and Hope for the nations. He is the Spirit, Love, Life, and Power of God released to the nations.

Let Ghana receive, honor, and hail Him!

Amen!!!
