THEME: THE IMPOTENCE OF GLOBAL MAN-MADE ORDERS VS. DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY 

IS THERE A VOICE in the world? Are there HEARERS? 

Wickedness has encompassed the world. Men have cried and are crying everywhere against the wicked works of men in the nations, in governance and politics, in business and industry. Treachery, bloodletting, lies, and falsehood have ascended the throne of social order. Everywhere, men are in pain. Life has become a drudgery— a useless adventure. Most people have given up living; they are merely existing. There is nothing to live for. Therefore, billions are floating on this tide of meaninglessness with no destination, no hope, and no tomorrow. Life and death are the same; indeed, to die may seem like a gain for the hopeless. What a tragedy! 

For this cause, the United Nations and many NGO’s have been established to pursue peace, forestall war, and to seek to minimize wickedness, pain, and suffering due to the wicked works of men, enterprises, nations, and peoples. Unfortunately, the UN has proved weak, powerless, and helpless, not least at the hands of the members of the so-called security council. 

For example, President Bush of the United States of America, backed by Prime Minister Tony Blare of the United Kingdom, “defied” the rod and staff of the Security Council to inflict unpardonable, non-ending pain and suffering—human sacrifice, and blood flow, political, and social unrest of the highest order—in Iraq. The Iraq oil and blood, property, dignity, and glory lost is immeasurable. 

The human race has now been overexposed to the whims and caprices of the gods and spirits, men and powers. Everywhere and in everyplace, the mean men bow and the great humble themselves before the works of the proud and lofty, rich and powerful of this world. The G8 or G10 declares and decrees upon nations and peoples, on life and death that is. Yes, the gods of the world they have become. The United Nations bows at their voice; the World Bank is only a protégé. By this scheme of things, some are thrown into the global arena of wickedness and hypocrisy to cry foul—loudly and frenzy—at environmental challenges, both accusing as well as appealing to the ozone. 

The Lord God Almighty—the Creator of man and Spirit-Power over the heavens and the earth—has responded, and is responding, with His rod of disasters, pestilences, and death. Who can bury the dead? And who will mourn them? Will the drowning voices of helicopters do the job, or would bulldozers and hammers? The machines of horror, pain, and death in global politics and business do kill by thousands daily round the globe. Who Cares? 

Yet there is hope! There is light in the tunnel; there is a cloud on the horizon, a star in the skies. The Psalmist once declared: “Hear me when I call, o God of my righteousness, thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress. have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.” This is the lamentation of the Psalmist (Psalm 4). That, the sons of men have sought continually to turn God’s glory into shame; men love vanity and falsehood. They inflict pain and destruction everywhere. Therefore, they seek to kill those who believe in God, cherish the truth, and seek after righteousness. 

But that will not deter the godly and those who put their trust in God.  After all, it is due to the steadfastness of believers and true worshippers of God in their worship, intercession, and good works ordained and/or ordered by the Creator that the world remains intact, stable, and secure, and with some degree of hope. It is worthy to note that not all the dwellers on the earth that are consumed with fear and hopelessness, who ride helplessly afloat the tide of wickedness and vanity consuming billions. The godly and pure in heart have both joy and hope in life on earth, more than the rich and powerful who revel in their wicked gains, riches, and wealth. Though the wavering tides of wickedness, falsehood, and vanity are turning men from faith, trust, and hope in God unto Satan and the wicked, liars, and flatterers who present themselves as God and take the glory of God upon themselves, the righteous are solid in their faith, security, and hope in the Creator. 

Hear the testimony of the righteous on their confidence in God. 

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for Thou, Lord only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4: 8 KJV) 

He does not end here. He goes on further to pray in the fifth Psalm for Divine protection through meditation, prayer, and supplication unto “My God and My King.” 

In the evening, he confesses his trust, thanksgiving, and hope to his Creator. In the morning, he seeks protection and guidance for the day’s journey, the challenges on the way— the environment of wickedness and falsehood, the bloodthirsty and deceitful. He laments but is not overcome by the people who have truth and righteousness and yet lay in wait to rob, steal, kill, and destroy in their bid to take the glory of the righteous and God upon themselves. He does not hesitate to affirm his belief, faith, and practice in the Worship of God in the Temple and the obedience of His will, way, and directions for his life. He concludes in Psalm 5 verse 11 & 12 saying; 

“But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy,  because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee.  For Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt Thou  compass him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5: 11 & 12 KJV) 

This is the message of assurance and hope from the Most High God to the millions of people seeking to live the life of faith and righteousness, worship and hope in God in the midst of wicked spirits, men, and powers trampling, robbing, stealing, killing, and destroying men and creation in their bid to claim, possess and control the world and its glory.  

Have hope in God, O ye righteous and faithful people who worship the Holy One in spirit and in truth. Fear ye not. Seek ye His voice always. Have hope in God. Jesus soon comes, His reward with Him!!!
