THEME: THE STAR NATION AND THE CRISIS AT THE POLITICAL GATE

The Peace, Grace, and Joy of the Lord God Jehovah be unto the President, Government, Church, and God’s people of Ghana.

We bring glad tidings of blessed assurance, joy, and hope to nation and people. Ghana—chosen, blessed, and crowned as Star of Africa—is set by God for signs and wonders in the world. The light of God, the King of Glory, is set upon the hill of Ghana. Peace and righteousness, progress, prosperity, and protection in the hand and under the wings of the Most High God is and shall be the experience and story of Ghana.

The Lord God Father is happy about how Ghana—as church, nation, and people—has believed the truth, accepted, and received Jesus Christ His Son Given as Reconciler, Saviour, Redeemer, and Hope for the country. The “Christian hill” is not only risen above all the hills in the country; It has given Ghana its National Character.

According to the Lord God Jehovah, the time of glory has dawned for the country. The time has come for the country to put on the Garment of Righteousness, Truth, and Praise as a distinctive feature of the glory of the country.

As the nation comes to the celebration of the birth of the Son Given, King of Glory and Prince of Peace, the Lord would have Church and Country consider the season as a time of Remembrance, Honour, and Celebration of Peace, Righteousness, and Justice, Joy, Hope, and Glory ushered upon the country by the Lord Jesus. Towards this, the Church, Government, Nation, and People are requested to treat the Christmas and New Year season as a time set apart to consider the Truth and Peace, Love, Life, Light, and way of God freely given and bountifully available in Jesus Christ—the Spirit-Power of reconciliation, redemption, restoration, and glory for all men, all nations, and all peoples. In Him are heavenly doors open to peoples and nations. Yes, Christ Jesus, Son of the Living God, is the key to heaven.

May we seize this opportunity to remind the Government and Church in particular, and all religious groups and civic society as a whole, that the nation is beset with great and serious crisis. Only the hand of God can help the nation tide over the challenges of the hour and maintain her stability, security, and destined glory as a peaceful, righteous, and godly nation. For, apart from the challenges on the economic and social fronts, the nation faces a crisis at the political gate.

First, there is intense and unceasing dispute at the chieftaincy front. The chiefs, central government, and the justice system are still struggling to stop and stamp out the virus. Indeed, chieftaincy is seething in pressure. It is only the hand of God that has kept the smouldering fires from engulfing the nation.

Second is crisis at the political party front. There is now chaos, confusion, and instability in the two major political parties, the NDC and NPP. The CPP and the others are yet to get their feet established in the terrain. The sad side is that both the NPP and the NDC are proving incompetent and almost incapable of handling their internal fracas as an assurance and guarantee of peace and righteousness, good governance, and political stability.

In this respect, there is third a serious disconnection and challenge of internal cohesion and solidarity within the NDC as a party, and in the party’s connection with the NDC- floated Atta-Mills Administration. This development without doubt affects good and stable governance, policy coherence, as well as the nation. Non-cohesion and fragmentation at the political gate is a bad omen for the country.

It is apparent in this respect that the well-known “Rawlings factor” in the NDC, as well as with national security, is now being confounded and compounded by what we will call the “Atta-Mills factor.” The open charges and perception of incompetence of the Atta-Mills Administration is fraught with danger for the country.

There are three factors in this equation, namely:

• Fears with the Rawlings’ disposition
• The possibility of a vote of No-confidence in Parliament and
• Possibility with social unrest which cannot by stymied with Kwesi Pratt for South Africa 2010.

Suffering and pain, dissatisfaction and frustration, are seeds of decay and unrest. God save Ghana!

The above-mentioned challenges and possibilities, fears and threats to sound governance and national security, demand; deep reflection, seasoned reasoning, and loyalty to nation and peoples, understanding and acknowledgment of the Will and Hand of God in the standing, glory, and destiny of the nation.

These indeed are critical times, which only God can help the nation tide over. We appeal to the Church and God’s people in particular, and the God-honoring loyal citizens and friends of Ghana, to consider seriously the END-YEAR MESSAGE of GOD to Church, Government, and Nation.

We end with scripture of Divine instruction and counsel for challenging times such as this:

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are   of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4: 8 KJV)

May the peace of God in Jesus Christ, which passes understanding, guard the hearts and minds of all the people of Ghana during the Christmas and New Year festivities and beyond.
