Invocation and Introduction: The Holy Spirit as Companion

It is my duty to introduce us to why and wherefore the Holy Spirit is in the church. We are trying to clarify the position a bit better, taking the church as an institution.

The church is not a human institution. The church is a divine institution, conceived in heaven before Jesus Christ came. The old order was one of self, sin, death, and satanic oppression. The new order is God taking back His creation and reordering the affairs of His creation in honor and respect of what He wanted to prevail on earth.

Since no man has been to heaven to bring and teach us order from heaven, and Jesus Christ, who came from heaven, is going back to His original position, it was deemed necessary that the church should not be left on her own. Jesus said, it is expedient that I go, and He would pray the Father to send the Holy Spirit

The Church as a Spiritual Institution and School

The coming of the Holy Spirit in the church makes the church an institution, a school. It is a place where man, having been born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit, is going to learn:

• How to walk as a new man.
• How to pray as a spiritual person.
• How to combat spiritual spirits.
• How to reorder the affairs of the earth according to the will and purposes of the Creator.

1. Requirements for Entering the School.
2. New Birth: The first thing required is that the person must be born again. The old nature, which was already rejected, cannot make it. This is a spiritual metamorphosis, a rebirth, a recreation of man.
3. Baptism of the Holy Spirit: Jesus said, even the new birth is not enough. One must be baptized by the Holy Spirit. Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there is no way the Holy Spirit can operate. The performance of the man born again and baptized with the Holy Spirit is a completely new human phenomenon that is spiritual.
4. Humility and Submission: One of the secrets of the new life is humility. The greatest hindrance to knowing the true things of God is trusting in one’s own thinking power and senses. Except you die to yourself, you cannot be My disciple. You must humble yourself and submit to the direction, guidance, and control of whom? The Holy Spirit.

The church is a holy spiritual heart institution where you learn to walk and work and even talk as a spiritual person. You are no longer expected to solve problems or see worldly things in the light of your senses, studies, or pleasures. Now that you have become a member of the heavenly family, we talk heavenly language and get direction from the throne.

The Holy Spirit Institutionalizes His Operation

The coming of the Holy Spirit is to turn the church into a spiritual institution to develop spiritual things, to honor the Father’s will so that His will be done on earth as in heaven.

The Holy Spirit himself has come to institutionalize His operations within the church so that the church can perform the heavenly functions on earth. The greatest function is to pray and to go and witness of whom? Jesus.

Jesus told them in John 14 that He is going away, and it is expedient that the Holy Ghost come. Jesus’ ascension caused the divine dimension of the church to be lost, and the church became like orphans but He said, “I will not leave you like orphans”. He will send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

In this second order of institutional arrangement, the Holy Spirit Himself is the teacher. His presence makes the place an institution.

The Holy Spirit as the Teacher of Truth

The Holy Spirit’s presence is coming to teach the church the truth about God, about Jesus Christ, and about Christian matters. He is the Spirit of truth. When you have Him, you learn, then no power or spirit can deceive you anymore because you have the truth and the Spirit of truth with you as your teacher and friend. If you are filled with the Holy Ghost and know the truth, they will not scare you, they cannot frighten you, they cannot stop you because you come from a higher order greater than themselves.

The Holy Spirit Glorifying Jesus and Directing Worship

The Holy Spirit also has come to teach the church how to glorify the Son, the Master. When you are preaching the truth and you are glorifying the Lord, you are not appealing to human senses.

Your worship must be dictated, directed by whom? The Holy Spirit, because you don’t know what pleases God. He has to give you not only the word but the sound upon which this message can travel. It is not every sweet music that is of God. It is not the way you render the music or the sound of the rhythm, but the spirit behind it and the power behind it and the purpose.

The Holy Spirit is the author of new songs and will give inspiration.

The Holy Spirit Receiving and Giving New Things

Finally, the Holy Spirit is in the church making the church an institution to receive from the Father and the Son and give to the church. Since all the things that Jesus taught could not be received and kept by the disciples, the Holy Spirit is there for the church.

The Christian leader who teaches that the days of the Holy Spirit are over, that the days of prophecy are over because now we can read the scripture, is telling you that his personal interpretation of the scripture is equal to God’s interpretation. This is possibly the Antichrist who has entered the church, because they do not want to give honor to Jesus Christ.

The Church: A School for Deepening Experience

The church is a school. The coming of the Holy Spirit changes the nature of the church from being a human institution to a heavenly institution where direction comes from heaven.

The Holy Spirit has come to make you a vessel sanctified and made meet for the Master’s use.

The teacher of that school is called the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Headmaster or Principal of the school. The appointed men, the five-fold ministry, are put there to make the church function properly as an institution.

The first anointing of the gift of speaking in tongues is not the end of the journey. It is an open door for you to learn more and to operate in a better way, a higher way, a more glorious way. Even prophetic utterance, healing, diverse kinds of miracles or healings is also just an open door. There is more to learn, there are more things to do, there are greater works.

Humility at the feet of God is a prerequisite in this wonderful institution and power system called what? The Holy Spirit in the church.
